Chapter 719, Section 133: I'm here to assist in the battle.
"It appears I did not issue any orders to act."

"I'm terribly sorry, Your Excellency, we judged that to be the best opportunity at the time." The agent's voice was strained as he reported while retreating, desperately hoping to gain the forgiveness of the wise gentleman.
"Our original plan was to precisely hit the mediastinum of the suspected military technology liaison—a shot in this location would immediately render the person incapacitated but not kill them on the spot, yet it would be like a shot to the heart. We calculated that after creating the illusion that the liaison was dead within the line of sight of the military technology unit, we could take advantage of the chaos to capture the target who might possess intelligence on the new US president."

The agent's Adam's apple bobbed: "But we didn't expect the military technology commander to react so quickly. Just before our sniper pulled the trigger, he seemed to anticipate the danger and made an evasive maneuver, allowing our target, which should have been hit, to dodge the shot. This was completely beyond the expectations of the tactical simulation. In order to avoid the target being injured and causing an intelligence gap, we were forced to stop firing."

The military technology team leader, Yarman, completely misjudged the situation.

The reason why Agent Arasaka only fired one shot was neither to reserve an escape route nor because he was afraid of the sentries he had set up—their objective from the beginning was not to kill the liaison officer.

Five Arasaka agents dared to follow Yarman's elite squad of thirty men, so how could they possibly take those obvious sentries seriously?
Living liaisons are invaluable intelligence sources, worth fighting over by all sides, but a corpse is meaningless.

In the event of casualties, self-preservation is the best policy—this is precisely the operational logic of the Arasaka agents.

Their plan was meticulously organized, and even with pre-arranged chaos, they maintained a high success rate.

The plan is to create the illusion of 'killing' the liaison officer, causing the military technology personnel to misjudge the situation and conclude that the intelligence officer is dead or that the intelligence officer is unimportant to Arasaka. Then, Arasaka's five operatives can quickly infiltrate the area with fewer personnel than the military technology team, take the intelligence officer away, and obtain the intelligence.

This should have been a perfect intelligence hijacking operation.

Unfortunately, this operation was an accident from the start—a group of elites eager to show off in front of Wise acted without Wise's instructions, resulting in a farcical situation that backfired.

While Mingzhi is showing some anger at their unauthorized actions, he is actually thinking about something else.

The person below walks alone, which is really the tradition. Mingzhi always thought that this kind of thing could only be regarded as a joke, but he never expected that it would actually happen, and even to him. This is really not funny.

As expected of a Japanese company, Arakawa really lives up to its reputation; it's truly authentic.

Seriously, I'm speechless. I've only been at the company for less than half a day and there's already so much to do. Not only is the workload heavy and exhausting, but I've also encountered all sorts of traditional problems. I really don't know whether to say I'm lucky or unlucky.

Is this an attempt to let the new employee experience Japanese style? That's very Japanese.

Logically, Mingzhi should now, as a superior, severely criticize these operatives and prepare them for demotion or other consequences in the workplace. However, such foolish behavior is clearly not the right thing to do now.

Those who go their own way should be taught a lesson later, but not now. We're already working on this, and things have already come to this point, so we have no choice but to continue.

Damn, is this what happens after all those solo actions? You've already done it, so you just have to accept it.

Wisely, or rather, Carl is now very clear about the situation.

Based on the information he sent from T-BUG before the connection was lost, it seems that V and his team are currently in a temporary hideout with the president, and sent out a message to the outside world to support the president before the communication was cut off. Although Carl doesn't know the current situation of V and his team, or why the person contacting them is a homeless man with a wanderer's demeanor, it is clear that this group of military technology personnel are here to help the president, meaning they are half an ally of V.

The current situation is that my cleverly disguised subordinate has gotten into a fight with V's half-ally.
'It's kind of funny from this perspective, but unfortunately I can't laugh at it myself.' So, who should I help?
Without any hesitation, Wise made the decision.

What else could we do? We'd already done it.

Although revealing his true identity would undoubtedly provoke attacks from those currently loyal to him, like the Pheasant Faction, he's at least still using this identity for now.
People should do what is appropriate for them. He is Akechi in Arasaka, so he should do Akechi's work. The current identity of the Pheasant Faction is working well, and there is no need to take it off before achieving the goal, especially since...
Wisely observed the cameras set up by the operatives along their route and spotted a dark figure flash by in one of the cameras.

Military technology support has also arrived.

"These bastards from Arakawa are definitely suspicious!"

Yarman cursed through gritted teeth, the casualty statistics flashing on his prosthetic eye stinging his nerves.

Two full minutes had passed—ever since the five Arasaka agents began their retreat, he had pursued them with three times the number of troops, but instead of forming an effective encirclement, he had lost two more elite soldiers.

This is absolutely ridiculous!
Keep in mind that even the worst member of this team was a veteran recruited from the streets. He was a regular at the "Afterlife" club before KK became famous. Not to mention the other members, who were all well-known and ruthless characters. Yet, they were completely outmaneuvered by a mere five Arasaka agents.

"Watch their movement!" Yarman growled in the channel, while simultaneously performing a tactical roll to dodge a bullet that suddenly came from the side.

Those agents seemed to be able to foresee the future, always finding the weakest point of escape before the encirclement closed in. What was even more terrifying was that every step they took during their retreat was like a carefully designed trap—every street corner could be met with a pre-set explosive device, and every intersection could be met with a precise sniper shot.

The tactical analysis chip installed by Yarman kept issuing prompts.

These agents displayed combat skills that far exceeded the level of the regular Arasaka unit, and were even more troublesome than the Arasaka action team that Bialman had encountered. Their teamwork was seamless, their choice of retreat route was an art, and their timing of the counterattack was so precise that it was outrageous.

"Captain! Number 17 has been shot!" came the team member's exclamation over the channel.

Yarman spat out a mouthful of bitter spittle.

This is illogical—he was confident he could take down even Arasaka Tower's action team. Could this group of Arasaka be the guards of the Arasaka family, like that 100-man ninja group? They're really crazy!
Just as Yarman was racking his brains trying to figure out how to defeat this troublesome opponent, his channel suddenly received a communication.

That was a high-privilege communication from a hidden channel.

"I am Li De from the Joint Intelligence Agency. I am here to assist you in your operations."

Suspecting a mole within the FIA, Lee, who had been conducting investigations despite his injuries, rushed from the city without any instructions upon learning of the president's attack.
