Chapter 66: The End of the Tok Mercenary Group

Chapter 66: The End of the Tok Mercenary Group
"Whoosh!"

Tok picked up a piece of gravel and threw it into the sky. The gravel made a sound of breaking through obstacles and rushed towards its target rapidly.

But just as the rubble was about to hit the boy, an invisible force field stopped it.

Pause, reverse, speed up.

The gravel hit back at the same speed, returning the color to the original thrower.

Tok raised his hammer, and the hard magic weapon collided with the rubble, crushing the latter in an instant.

Nemesis chuckled, and his figure gradually became blurred, as if the space was distorted.

Then, twelve identical figures split from his body and quickly spread across the sky.

Tok's face was gloomy as he tried to figure out who the real body was, but to no avail.

"Damn it, illusionists are such a hassle."

The mercenaries picked up their bows and arrows and shot at the spellcaster in the sky. Tok winked at one of them, and the other immediately sneaked back underground.

The dense rain of arrows met the same fate as rubble before they even got close to Nemesis.

Under the protection of the [Reverse Arrow] force field, any thrown objects will be given kinetic energy by the power of the magic net and shot back to the starting point.

"Don't worry," one of the Nemesis said.

"It will be your turn," another figure continued.

Nemesis stretched out his hand, and all the figures followed suit. Huge amounts of spiritual energy continued to flow, and countless star matter condensed under the thirteen figures.

Four-ring creative power [Astral structure] x 50!

A full 350 points of spiritual energy evaporated into the air, and huge amounts of star matter appeared from the void, with tentacles entangled with each other, transforming into hundreds of figures.

Centaurs covered in pitch-black armor appeared in the world under the power of psychic energy. Unlike ordinary centaurs, each of them has huge, thick and powerful ram horns on their heads.

They are swift runners, astral monsters that rival seventh-level warriors.

"Damn, how can there be so many monsters! This is impossible! These are all illusions! Yes, it must be an illusion created by that damn illusionist! Don't panic!" Tok shouted.

Nemesis had a sarcastic smile on his lips, of course it was the power of illusion.

The fourth-level illusion spell [Vision] created thirteen times the number of monsters, of which only fifty were real.

But how do they know which one it is?

The Swift Leapers pawed their hooves impatiently, and then a horde of half-sheep, half-horse monsters rushed towards the mercenaries.

Even though they knew that this was probably fake and just their own hallucination, these low-level professionals who were just filling in the gaps still couldn't help but tremble when they saw the army of monsters rushing towards them.

Some mercenaries squatted on the ground in fear, waiting for death when the Swift Leaper was about to hit them, while others tried to run backwards, trying to see if they could outrun the four-legged horse on two legs.

After touching one of the mercenaries, Phantom immediately passed through him and stopped behind him. Phantom looked at the mercenary unwillingly and breathed out hot air angrily.

The mercenary was stunned for a moment, then stood up, raised his hands, and shouted in surprise: "They are all fake, all fake."

He had barely said half of his words when another Swift Leaper rushed towards him. He looked at the other one boldly and shouted out his discovery in surprise.

But the next moment, when the Swift Leaper touched his flesh, it was not the illusory feeling of passing through his body, but instead, a real and violent impact, and the pain that followed.

The mercenary was knocked dozens of meters away, with a big hole in his chest. The sharp and hard horns of the Swift Leaper easily pierced his chest, and the huge force of the charge broke all his ribs. Such scenes are everywhere. Among the countless phantoms, there are a few monsters with real terrible power.

Some lucky ones escaped the attacks of real monsters, while others just escaped loneliness.

The mercenaries were losing troops rapidly, and Tok was also in a bad situation.

He didn't even have time to feel sad about the loss of his men. Being taken care of by several Swift Leapers, he had relied on his strong combat instincts to dodge several collisions.

But a real one that overlapped with the phantom passed his line of defense and hit him hard.

The originally flawless white magic armor now had several large cracks, and it was likely to be completely decommissioned if it suffered another collision.

"Damn it. I must identify which ones are phantoms, otherwise I will be exhausted to death sooner or later. Why hasn't that idiot come yet!" Tok cursed in his heart.

He jumped again and avoided the impact of a phantom. A figure emerged from the passage in the basement. It was the mercenary who had just disappeared secretly.

He held up a cat's eye stone and threw it to Tok: "Boss! I got the Stone of Truth! Catch it!"

Tok caught it quickly, and the next moment, the cat's eye stone instantly turned into ashes, and an invisible force covered his eyes.

Six-ring prophecy spell [True Knowledge]! The biggest nemesis of the Illusion Department and the eternal enemy.

"Oh? The Stone of Truth?"

Nemesis looked at Tok with interest. He knew that this disposable magic prop was a very expensive and popular magic item.

The Stone of True Knowledge uses a cheap cat's eye stone to carry the power of [True Knowledge]. The user can consume the Stone of True Knowledge and temporarily gain the ability to see through the true face of all things.

It is an important way for high-level spellcasters to make money, because in the adventures of Faerun, there is basically no occasion where the power of true seeing cannot be used.

Tok gained the blessing of [True Seeing] and instantly saw through the disguises of all the phantoms. Groups of arcane magic gathered in the phantoms, driving them into their real forms.

Tok raised the fine iron hammer with confidence. He ignored all the phantoms rushing towards him and only stared at the only real Swift Leaper among them.

The hammer hit the Centaur's long neck with tremendous force, and the unparalleled force instantly broke its cervical vertebrae. The Centaur fell to the ground wailing, and silver blood flowed from the broken bones that pierced through the skin.

The black five-pointed star gem on Nemesis' chest floated up slightly, swaying in the air as if blown by the wind.

The young man pointed with one hand, and an evil curse fell upon the White Knight.

"Exhausted, weak."

Three-ring necromancy spell——[Curse]!
Then, Nemesis whispered a difficult spell, and even more evil power was realized by magic.

Fourth-ring necromancy spell——[Weak Energy Spell]!
Fourth-ring illusion spell—[Sensory Deprivation]!
"No, curse! It's the Necromancer!" Tok knelt on one leg on the ground, covering his eyes and shouting wildly.

The curse of death entangled his body, sucking his strength. The knight's strong and sturdy body could not stop the spread of the evil power.

Weakness is fatal enough, but what follows is the deprivation of the five senses.

The vision was the first to disappear, the darkness under Shar's skirt enveloped Tok, and then he found that the surroundings fell into silence again.

Then comes the loss of the sense of smell, the loss of the sense of taste, and finally the sense of touch of the body.

Tok wanted to scream, but he didn't know if his mouth was open, and he couldn't hear his own voice echoing.

He fell into a dead silence.
