Chapter 6 Haunted House
Leading the charge were two fully armed sheriffs, wearing heavy armor, holding transparent riot shields in one hand and rubber-coated batons in the other, with several tear gas and stun grenades hanging around their waists.

The several sheriffs following behind them held a flashlight in one hand and a pistol in the other. The team's strongest firepower was a CQB-model short assault rifle, which was slung across the back of Captain Huang.

Sun Hang glanced at the magazines inserted on Captain Huang's waist. Except for one magazine filled with rubber bullets, the other four magazines were filled with live bullets with brass shells.

"Haunted house." The young sheriff said, "During the last investigation, Xiao Hu disappeared after searching the haunted house."

“…Alright, alright.” 0401 muttered softly, “Let’s search the haunted house before it gets dark.”

The team of six sheriffs and three temporary investigators quickly arrived at the entrance of the haunted house. Sun Hang looked up and saw the signboard with the words "Ancient Castle Horror·Secret Chamber Adventure" hanging crookedly above the gate, with only a few cables and brackets connecting it. When the wind blew, the suspended signboards swayed gently, as if they would fall down at any time.

The door of the haunted house was gone, replaced by two half-man-high iron fences. The sheriff who led the charge put aside his riot shield, walked forward and pushed the fence aside.

The metal legs rubbed against the concrete floor, making a teeth-grinding sound.

"Damn, I always feel like there's something chilly going on in there." 0401 whispered, "Tsk, if only I could have a gun, at least I'd feel more at ease."

"Have you learned to use a gun?" Sun Hang glanced at him and asked.

"No... uh, I learned it in the game." 0401 said, "I'm a pretty accurate shooter."

"If I really give you a gun, you will feel at ease, but we will not feel at ease." Sun Hang said, "You can't turn off friendly fire in the real world." "This kid is right." Captain Huang turned around and said, "If it's not a spooky creature, then you don't need to do anything... If there really is a spooky creature, it will be useless even if I give you ten guns."

Following Captain Huang, three temporary investigators also walked into the haunted house. Sun Hang noticed that the haunted house seemed to have not been renovated yet, and there were construction materials and garbage piled everywhere in the room.

At the end of the hall is a corridor. The walls on one side of the corridor have been coated with putty, while the other side is still an exposed rough brick wall.

A crudely made iron chandelier hung from the ceiling, its shade covered in a mixture of cobwebs and dust.

Soon, the rocking car was dismantled by the sheriff, and a battery connected to the control chip was dug out from the base of the car.

The battery was old, but the welding marks on the wires were fresh, obviously having been replaced recently.
