Chapter 224 No one can escape
Chapter 224 No one can escape
After leaving the restraints of the cell, Su Ze and Rocket Raccoon did not stay there for long. They just held up their invisibility cloaks and strolled in the corridor.
This invisibility cloak is not the high-end item in Harry Potter's hand, but one of Dumbledore's many collections.
In order to thank Suze for his help in driving away Tom Riddle, Dumbledore took out a lot of his collections and gave them to Suze, and this invisibility cloak was just one of them.
The square wallet in Su Ze's hand before was actually a suitcase that was cast with an automatic shrinking spell. When the switch was pressed, the thing would automatically switch between the state of a wallet and a suitcase.
If it was just a wallet, then it would contain some weapons and equipment that Suze had placed inside, and if it turned back into a suitcase, it would be like Newt Scamander's suitcase, with a huge space of its own.
A weather spell has been released inside this space box, which can simulate various types of weather. There is even a small wooden house inside that can be used for people to live in, which is very convenient.
However, Su Ze believed that if he was holding Harry Potter's invisibility cloak or Newt's box, the bloody text would be able to bring him more special abilities.
Walking in the dim and silent corridor, the ground beneath my feet was cold and hard, as if I could feel the chill spreading up from the soles of my feet with every step.
A waxy yellow light came from overhead, illuminating the distorted shadows on both sides. Along the way, Su Ze saw a lot of bloodstains and scratches on the walls. He tried his best not to look, but he couldn't control his gaze.
After traveling through so many universes, this is Su Ze's first time entering a mental hospital. What he didn't expect was that his first time would be dedicated to Arkham, a "very famous" place.
The surrounding environment was unusually quiet, and the air was filled with a mixture of rotten smell and disinfectant, which was really disgusting.
"Are you okay, Suze? I heard your heartbeat was very fast." Rocket Raccoon asked in a low voice as he moved forward.
"Nothing." Su Ze shook his head slightly, paused, and explained, "I'm just a little nervous. This environment is making me almost claustrophobic."
"Ha, they're just some shabby cells. Not as scary as you think."
As Rocket Raccoon was speaking, suddenly a hand stretched out from the cell on the left and grabbed straight towards his head.
The bony arm scared Rocket Raccoon, but he soon realized that the other party couldn't reach him at all.
The owner of that hand began to bang on the guardrail frantically, making bursts of dull noises. The sound echoed in the corridor, making people feel extremely nervous.
"I see you, I see you hahahaha!"
Through the guardrail, a pair of bloodshot eyes were filled with extreme madness, he let out a shrill laugh, and shouted at the empty air.
Rocket Raccoon unconsciously quickened his pace, his heart pounding.
Although he knew that the other party didn't really "see" him, the madness displayed by that guy still made him a little scared.
"Let's find that damn Batman, this place is driving me crazy." Rocket Raccoon gritted his teeth and said angrily. "The first thing I'm going to do when I get out is to blow this shitty place to pieces."
"What a coincidence, that's what I thought too." Su Ze licked his dry lips.
The corridor seemed to have no end, and every step seemed to lead to a deeper abyss of fear. In the darkness, more and more cells appeared in the sight of Suze and Rocket Raccoon.
In the cell next door, a woman with purple hair was banging her head against the wall, making a "bang bang" sound, and her forehead was covered in blood.
Going further ahead, I saw a man grinning foolishly at the wall, muttering some incomprehensible words. When I passed by him, the guy suddenly turned his head and the expression on his face became even weirder.
When I turned a corner, a cold wind blew past, causing the corners of my clothes to flutter.
Su Ze glanced at the floors marked on the wall and found that this was only the first floor. Next to the floor number was a yellowed wallpaper with a map of the entire building.
"It looks like we are currently in Area C on the first floor. If we want to go down, we have to use the elevator in Area F."
Noticing this, Rocket Raccoon also came over. "Is this crappy place really a mental hospital? It feels more like a high-class prison to me."
"Arkham Asylum was originally a place to treat the super criminals in Gotham City. It's no different than a prison. But I never thought it would be designed so outrageously."
As Su Ze spoke, he cast his eyes to the bottom of the map, trying to see the relevant information of the following floors. The map described a total of four floors of Arkham Asylum, namely the second floor, the first floor, the first underground floor, and the second underground floor.
Judging from the markings on the map, the second floor is basically the offices and workplaces of the people who work here, and is not the activity area for the people imprisoned here. The first floor is an ordinary "mental illness" placement room.
There are a total of six areas here. Except for Area B which is used for fresh air, the other areas are cells like those where Rocket is imprisoned. And from a design point of view, the guys imprisoned on this floor are not threatening at all.
The further down you go, the more complex the floor designs become, and the more dangerous the prisoners become.
It stands to reason that with Bane's abilities, it would be impossible for him to be imprisoned on the first floor, but he is now disabled. Not only are both of his legs broken, but the fact that he is still alive is a miracle.
They did not encounter any obstacles along the way, and even some of the monitoring lines were completely aged and damaged. Su Ze and Rocket did not stop, and soon arrived at Area F and saw the elevator.
It was an old-fashioned elevator with a rusty iron door. The elevator compartment was hidden in the darkness, and only the iron door reflected a mottled metallic luster under the light.
"Are you sure this thing still works? It looks like it was abandoned last century." Rocket Raccoon smacked his lips and frowned at this retro technology that had no aesthetic appeal at all.
"I'm afraid those people have other ways to get into the lower level, otherwise they can't lock people in, right? But this is also a good thing for us. At least using this thing won't attract other people's attention."
As he said that, Su Ze used brute force to open the iron door. The friction of the metal made a loud crackling sound, and the entire elevator began to groan in pain.
With Su Ze present, Rocket Raccoon became much braver. He still believed in Su Ze's fighting ability. Rocket couldn't think of anyone else here who could threaten Su Ze.
Just then, a sinister voice came from behind them.
“If I were you, I wouldn’t do that.”
The voice came from a woman and sounded like a ghost.
Suze and Rocket Raccoon turned their heads sharply, and then they saw the woman with half of her body hidden in the shadows in the cell in the corner.
The woman had an extremely pale face, very red lips, and golden curly hair, but she was now covered in dirt and looked like a discarded doll.
"Do I know you?" Su Ze greeted.
The woman stretched her neck expressionlessly, staring at Su Ze for a long time before she gave a terrifying smile. "Beth Kane."
"Why don't you suggest us do this?" Su Ze didn't know Beth Kane and just thought she was a crazy villain in Gotham.
But Beth's smile was trembling. "You don't want to go down there. It's a truly crazy hell. Those guys will eat you up bit by bit, leaving nothing but bones."
"Come on." Rocket Raccoon sneered and walked directly into the elevator. "Another lunatic."
"Really? You think I'm crazy?" Beth laughed. "No, you haven't seen the real madness yet. The whole world is doomed. We will all become Satan's toys. We already are. No one can escape!"
Beth's scream echoed like the sound of nails on a chalkboard.
Su Ze frowned deeply, and then he didn't say anything, but followed Rocket Raccoon into the elevator.
With Rocket Raccoon's operation, the elevator started quickly. The old iron chain rubbed against the drum, making a harsh metal friction sound.
The rivets on the compartment wall had become loose, and as the elevator swayed, it looked like they could fall off at any time. The indicator light was not on, and only the damaged red light was still emitting a faint glow.
And outside, Beth was still screaming.
"You can't escape. No one can escape. You can't go down. Those guys will tear off your limbs and torture your sanity!"
"No, you have to go. You must go before that guy finds you. Hide in the dark bottomless pit and throw away the key. This way you can ensure your own safety."
"No, no, no, there is no safe place. No one can escape."
