Chapter 24 Tanzhe Temple

The yellow paper was not heavy, but more than ten piles were not easy to carry. Ye Muxue asked the salesperson to tie seven piles together and then find a rope to tie them up like a saddlebag.

Even so... the salesperson imagined the 'fragile' Ye Muxue picking it up, and the picture was very vivid.

"Are you selling this calligraphy?" Ye Muxue asked, pointing at the painting "It's Rare to Be Confused".

She actually didn't know how to identify antiques, but she had the means to identify the age of objects. This calligraphy was well written... She was also good at calligraphy, so she could naturally tell the good from the bad. Moreover, this calligraphy had a history of nearly two hundred years and was signed with "Zheng Xie".

Zheng Xie is the name of Zheng Banqiao, one of the Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou. He can be said to be an expert in both calligraphy and painting. Judging from the author's calligraphy skills and the age of this calligraphy, it is impossible to be a fake.

"15 yuan." The salesperson looked up.

Ye Muxue didn't say anything and immediately paid the money and took off the scroll... She did this purely out of interest. If she really came across an antique, she wouldn't mind buying it and keeping it for future appreciation, because in this life, the mountain and sea space might grow into a spiritual realm ahead of time, with land and inheritance, as well as those secret realms and ruins. She felt it was much safer than the world of cultivation.

Ye Muxue casually threw the yellow paper 'saddlebag' over her shoulder and walked out of the door leisurely. Several sales clerks pointed and talked as if they were watching a joke, but they didn't know that Ye Muxue threw both the yellow paper and the scroll into the space at the corner of the alley the next moment.

Yellow paper is usually used as the most basic talisman paper in Taoism, because the power that this material can bear is the weakest. The slightly higher-level talisman paper is usually made of monster skin or high-quality spiritual plants... Why not use ordinary animal skin? Because it is not troublesome enough. The power that ordinary animal skin can bear is not much stronger than yellow paper, and the production cost is higher than yellow paper. What do you think is the choice?
The ink used to draw talismans is usually made of spiritual materials. Generally speaking, the blood of monsters is used as the main material, but there is another material - cinnabar.

Like yellow paper, cinnabar can only be used to draw low-level talismans, but the higher the quality of cinnabar, the more guaranteed the success rate and quality of the talisman. When Ye Muxue was practicing, she drew a lot of this kind of talisman, mainly because this kind of talisman is relatively cheap, and when fighting against low-level or equal-level cultivators, she can use talismans to smash.

However, after she became self-sufficient in the mountain and sea space, she learned how to make talisman paper and talisman ink by herself... after all, she never asked for help from others!
There are still a lot of talisman papers and talisman inks in her warehouse now, but they are basically materials that can be used to draw high-quality talismans. It is a waste of resources to use them to draw low-level talismans... Her current cultivation level is not enough to draw mid-level talismans.

After putting away the yellow paper, she searched for several streets before finding a pharmacy... The pharmacy was quite famous, it was an old brand - Tong Ren Tang!

After standing at the door and looking at it for a while, Ye Muxue walked in.

You can smell the strong aroma of Chinese medicine at the door, and it becomes even stronger when you get closer.

"Comrade, do you have cinnabar?" Ye Muxue glanced at the medicine cabinet and turned her gaze to the pharmacy staff.
"Yes. What grade do you want?" asked the staff in a white coat.

"Top quality. I'll take as many as you can." Ye Muxue spoke in a very arrogant manner.

"girl,"

The middle-aged woman smiled at Ye Muxue kindly: "Although we don't have a lot of high-quality cinnabar in our store, it's nearly 20 kilograms. If you buy it all..." She didn't say anything else. These dozens of kilograms of cinnabar would cost a lot of money, and who could afford kilograms? Most Chinese medicine transactions are calculated in "money" units, and at most in "liang". Do you really treat it like cabbage and buy it by kilogram?
"Thank you!"

Ye Muxue thanked him but still stubbornly put the money on the counter.

The woman was silent for a moment and stopped persuading him. Instead, she went into the warehouse and took out the remaining cinnabar... Ye Muxue checked it and found that it was indeed high-quality old cinnabar, with a color as red as blood.

There was no need to buy other things, but Ye Muxue was not in a hurry to draw talismans and went to the subway station.

"A ticket to the apple orchard."

Ye Muxue bought a ticket to Pingguoyuan at the ticket office... Subways have been built a long time ago in big cities like Beijing and Shanghai. They are indeed safer than buses. In the future, there will be more subway lines and they will be well connected. But now they are still a rarity.

……

Tanzhe Temple is one of the birthplaces of Chinese Zen Buddhism. The founder of Tanzhe Temple, Monk Fahai, was a disciple of the Sixth Patriarch of Zen Buddhism, Master Huineng. There are many outstanding monks in Tanzhe Temple, such as the Tang Dynasty monk Huisi and the Ming Dynasty monk Yideng.

Tanzhe Temple faces south and its main buildings can be divided into three sections: the middle section, the east section and the west section. The main buildings in the middle section include the mountain gate, the Heavenly King Hall, the Great Hall, the vegetarian hall and the Pilu Pavilion. The east section includes the abbot's courtyard, the Yanqing Pavilion, the palace courtyard, the Wanshou Palace and the Queen Mother's Palace. The west section includes the Lengyan Altar (no longer exists), the precept platform and the Guanyin Hall, which are solemn and majestic. In addition, there are the Anle Hall and the upper and lower pagoda courtyards on the hillside outside the mountain gate, as well as the Shaoshi Jingshi, the Xiexin Pavilion, the Longtan and the Imperial Stele built on the back mountain. There are 71 brick or stone pagodas in the pagoda courtyard where monks are buried.

Outside the mountain gate is a wooden memorial archway with three floors and four pillars. In front of the memorial archway are two ancient pines, whose branches and leaves overlap each other, like a green ceiling. In front of the memorial archway is a pair of majestic stone lions. Across the memorial archway is a single-hole stone arch bridge named "Huaiyuan Bridge", and across the bridge is the mountain gate.

The main hall of the Heavenly Kings houses a Maitreya statue, with a Skanda statue on the back and the four Heavenly Kings statues about 3 meters high on both sides. The bell and drum towers are on both sides of the Heavenly Kings Hall, and the main hall is behind it. The hall is five bays wide, with a double-eaved hip roof, yellow glazed tiles and green trimmings.
At both ends of the main ridge are giant green colored glaze chiwen, relics from the Yuan Dynasty, tied with long gilded chains. In the center of the hall is a huge statue of the Buddha, with a solemn look, and a backlight behind it, on which are carved the Garuda, dragon girl, lion, elephant, sheep, flame patterns, etc. On the left and right of the Buddha are the statues of Ananda and Kasyapa, both relics from the Qing Dynasty. Behind the main hall is the dining hall, where the monks eat. Behind the hall is the Three Saints Hall, but these two halls have been demolished. Only two tall Sal trees and two ginkgo trees remain. At the end of the central axis is a pavilion-style building called Pilu Pavilion, which is two stories high and made of wood. Standing on the Pilu Pavilion and looking into the distance, you can see the temple and the distant mountains.

After the reform, abolition, opening up and liberalization, Tanzhe Temple has regained its popularity and is becoming increasingly prosperous. But now... there are two elderly Taoists guarding the temple, wearing cotton robes and not greeting anyone.

Ye Muxue stood in front of the door to confirm her location. She did not enter the gate of Tanzhe Temple, but walked directly to the back mountain...

An hour later, Ye Muxue stopped in front of a cliff.

"is it here?"

She reached out her hand and gently touched the mountain wall, then pushed hard!
