Chapter 108 Nanny or Teacher?
The morning light shone through the mottled windows into Jiang Man and Qin Yishen's slightly cramped yet cozy home.

Jiang Man, slender yet resilient, was gently rocking her one-month-old daughter, Xin Yao, in the cradle, her face filled with a mixture of exhaustion and love.

Qin Yishen stood to the side, tidying up the schoolbags of his two elementary school children, Shi An and Shi Ning, while reminding them to be good at school.

Since Xinyao was born, this already busy family has become even more chaotic. Jiang Man and Qin Yishen have to take care of the newborn Xinyao every day, and also worry about Shi An and Shi Ning's studies and lives, often leaving them with aches and pains.

After discussing it, the two decided to hire a nanny to help with housework and get their family life back on track.

Jiang Man and Qin Yishen carefully drafted the job posting and posted it on the nearby bulletin board.

The job posting detailed the duties, which mainly involved taking care of a newborn baby, tutoring elementary school students, and helping with household chores. The pay was quite generous at the time.

The notice had only been posted a short time before it attracted a lot of attention.

A steady stream of people came to apply, but most of them didn't quite meet their requirements. Some had no experience caring for infants, while others had limited education and couldn't tutor Shi'an and Shi'ning.

Jiang Man and Qin Yishen were both anxious and helpless. They knew that finding a suitable nanny was crucial for the family.

Among the many applicants, three women left a deep impression on Jiang Man and Qin Yishen.

The first one is Aunt Liu, who is about forty years old, slightly plump, and has a kind face. Aunt Liu has a wealth of experience in raising children; she raised several children in her family single-handedly.

She confidently stated that taking care of a baby is a piece of cake for her; she is adept at making formula, changing diapers, and putting the baby to sleep.

The second person is Sister Li, who is in her early thirties and looks shrewd and capable. Sister Li used to work as a maid for a family in the city for several years, and she is very skilled at housework.

She kept her home spotless, and her laundry and cooking skills were highly praised.

Moreover, she has some knowledge of elementary school subjects and claims that tutoring Shi An and Shi Ning in their studies would not be a problem.

The third person is Ms. Zhang, a retired primary school teacher. Although she is a bit old, she is in good spirits.

With his profound cultural background, Mr. Zhang is naturally adept at tutoring elementary school students.

She believes that educating children should not only focus on their academic performance, but also emphasize the cultivation of their character.
She also has her own set of theories on infant care, emphasizing the importance of scientific feeding and early education.

Jiang Man and Qin Yishen decided to assess the job applicants. The first task was to take care of the baby, and Aunt Liu took the lead.

She skillfully picked up Xinyao and gently changed her diaper while humming a soft lullaby. Xinyao quickly calmed down in her arms.

Aunt Liu skillfully prepared the milk powder, tested the temperature, and fed it to Xinyao, completing the whole process in one go.

Next, Sister Li demonstrated her housework skills. She rolled up her sleeves, picked up a broom and rag, and quickly began cleaning the room. In no time, the house was sparkling clean.

She went into the kitchen again, skillfully chopped and stir-fried vegetables, and soon several plates of delicious home-style dishes were served.

When it was Ms. Zhang's turn, she mainly demonstrated her ability to tutor. Shi An and Shi Ning took out their homework, and Ms. Zhang patiently explained the difficult problems to them. Her simple and easy-to-understand explanations helped the children understand quickly.

She also shared some learning methods and reading skills with the children, which Shi An and Shi Ning listened to with great interest.

After the assessment, Jiang Man and Qin Yishen were very satisfied with the three applicants, but they disagreed on which one to choose.

Jiang Man felt reassured entrusting Xin Yao to Aunt Liu's care, given her extensive experience in infant care. She also felt Aunt Liu's kindness would bring warmth to the children. Qin Yishen, on the other hand, believed that Teacher Zhang's high level of education would benefit the children's upbringing, and she strongly agreed with Teacher Zhang's scientific parenting philosophy.

The two held their own opinions, and neither could convince the other. Shi An and Shi Ning also joined the discussion.

Shi An said, "I like Teacher Zhang. She explains problems so clearly. I'm sure I'll improve in my studies in the future."

Shi Ning said, "I think Aunt Liu is nice. She looks as kind as a grandmother and can sing beautiful lullabies."

Jiang Man and Qin Yishen looked at the children, their hearts filled with even more conflict.

Just as they were hesitating, a small incident occurred at home.

One night, Xinyao suddenly developed a high fever.

Jiang Man and Qin Yishen panicked and didn't know what to do.

Just then, Aunt Liu happened to come over to deliver some snacks she had made. Seeing the child's condition, she immediately calmed down.

While comforting Jiang Man and Qin Yishen, Aunt Liu applied a damp towel to Xinyao's forehead to lower her fever and also gave her some fever-reducing medicine. Under Aunt Liu's care, Xinyao's fever gradually subsided.

This incident further solidified Jiang Man's decision to choose Aunt Liu. She felt that Aunt Liu's experience and composure would provide the best care for the child in critical moments.

Although Qin Yishen was grateful to Aunt Liu, she still felt that Teacher Zhang was more helpful to Shi An and Shi Ning's studies.

However, things took an unexpected turn.

A few days later, Teacher Zhang approached Jiang Man and Qin Yishen, saying that her daughter had fallen seriously ill in another city and she needed to go there to take care of her, so she could no longer apply for the job.

Upon hearing this, Jiang Man and Qin Yishen felt both worried for Teacher Zhang's daughter and somewhat disappointed.

At this point, Sister Li also withdrew from the job application. She told Jiang Man and Qin Yishen that she had found a job that was more suitable for her, with better compensation and job content that met her expectations. This made the choice simpler.

Jiang Man and Qin Yishen decided to hire Aunt Liu. After Aunt Liu officially started working, she quickly integrated into the family. She took meticulous care of Xinyao, and under her care, Xinyao became healthier and cuter every day.

She also often told Shi An and Shi Ning interesting stories, and the children loved her. Jiang Man and Qin Yishen also felt much more relaxed, as they had more time to spend with their children, and their family life became more harmonious and fulfilling.

In this small family from the 1980s, life was revitalized and warmed by the arrival of Aunt Liu.

During the process of recruiting a nanny, Jiang Man and Qin Yishen also deeply realized the importance of family and the significance of making the right choice.

"Mom! Mom! I got a perfect score!"

"Mom, I'm even better! I got third place in the whole grade!"

As soon as the final grades came out, Shi An and Shi Ning excitedly ran home.

She ran home shouting, and as soon as she saw Jiang Man, she hugged her.

"Mom, come and look at my test paper!"

"I'm right more than you, Mom, watch me!"
