Chapter 103 Agreeing to Jiang He
Jiang He eagerly awaited her acceptance letter, which was her hope for changing her destiny and her ticket to a new life.

However, fate revealed its hideous fangs to her.

After learning of her acceptance letter, Lin's mother, out of concern for her son's relationship with Jiang He, tore the letter to shreds without Jiang He's knowledge and deliberately delayed the process, causing Jiang He to miss the enrollment deadline.

When Jiang He finally discovered all of this, it was as if she had been struck by lightning.

Her world collapsed instantly, and all her hopes and dreams vanished in that moment.

She returned to her rented room, feeling lost and disoriented; the cramped space seemed like a cage trapping her.

She lay in bed all night, staring blankly at the ceiling, tears streaming silently down her face.

Anger, despair, and helplessness swirled within her; she didn't know where to go from here.

But Jiang He had a stubborn streak, and after a night of painful struggle, she decided not to sit idly by and wait for her fate.

The next day, she composed herself, suppressed her inner pain, and went out to find Lin Yanqing.

She knew she had to fight for some security for her future.

When they found Lin Yanqing, he was standing by the lake on campus, looking somewhat solemn.

Jiang He took a deep breath, stepped forward, and tried to make her voice sound firm: "I agree to you being with Lin Yao, but you have to give me alimony every month, and I will not divorce you."

Her tone carried a hint of resolve, a helpless choice she made for herself in a desperate situation.

At that moment, Lin Yao happened to come looking for Lin Yanqing.

The incident at the KTV yesterday left her feeling uneasy. She was afraid that Lin Yanqing would soften his heart because of Jiang He's pregnancy and return to Jiang He's side.

So he rushed over early in the morning, eager to confirm Lin Yanqing's feelings.

When she reached the lakeside and heard what Jiang He said, a surge of anger welled up inside her.

She snorted coldly and pushed open the door without hesitation, walking inside.

Looking at Jiang He, her eyes were filled with disgust. She originally wanted to curse Jiang He for being shameless, for not letting go even after things had come to this point, and for trying to use the promise of not divorcing and demanding alimony to bind Lin Yanqing.

But reason told her that she couldn't make a big deal out of it. She knew that if this matter became a big fuss, she and Lin Yanqing would lose face at school and be unable to live and study normally.

Lin Yao suppressed her anger, walked to Lin Yanqing's side, tightly took his arm, and looked at Jiang He defiantly.

Lin Yanqing was somewhat at a loss due to this sudden situation. He looked at Jiang He, then at Lin Yao, his heart filled with conflict.

Jiang He's conditions put him in a difficult position. On the one hand, he did have feelings for Jiang He, and she was pregnant with his child; on the other hand, he deeply loved Lin Yao and didn't want to lose her.

"Jiang He, why are you doing this? Can't we just part ways amicably?"

Lin Yanqing tried to persuade Jiang He, hoping she would change her mind.

Jiang He sneered, her eyes full of mockery: "A clean break? Do you think that's possible? You're the ones who pushed me to this point. I have nothing left now, you have to give me a guarantee."

Hearing Jiang He's words, Lin Yao's anger flared up again: "Jiang He, don't go too far! Yan Qing doesn't love you anymore, what's the point of you clinging to him like this?"

Jiang He looked at Lin Yao without backing down: "This is between Lin Yanqing and me, it's none of your business to interfere. If it weren't for you, we wouldn't have come to this."

Lin Yanqing felt a splitting headache as he looked at the two women locked in a fierce confrontation.

He knew this matter had to be resolved as soon as possible, otherwise it would become increasingly troublesome.

“Jiang He, I can give you alimony, but isn’t it a bit much to not get a divorce? It’s not fair to Yao Yao.” Lin Yanqing tried to discuss it with Jiang He.

Jiang He shook her head firmly: "No, not getting a divorce is my bottom line. I have to be responsible for my future and my child's future. Since you've done this, you have to bear the consequences."

When Lin Yao heard Jiang He mention the child, her heart tightened. She looked at Lin Yanqing with worry and questioning in her eyes.

Lin Yanqing sighed helplessly, knowing that Jiang He would not easily compromise at this moment.

How much alimony do you want?

Lin Yanqing asked.

Jiang He thought for a moment and then said a number.

Upon hearing this, Lin Yanqing hesitated, as this number was a considerable burden for him.

"Jiang He, you're asking for an exorbitant amount. Where would I get that much money?"

Lin Yanqing said.

Jiang He looked at him, a resolute glint in her eyes: "This is already a huge concession on my part. If you don't agree, then we'll see each other in court. By then, I don't think your and Lin Yao's reputations will be any better."

Lin Yao felt both angry and anxious upon hearing Jiang He's threat.

She grabbed Lin Yanqing's arm and said, "Yanqing, don't agree to her. She's threatening us." Lin Yanqing looked at Lin Yao, feeling helpless. "Yao Yao, I don't want this either, but she's pregnant with my child. I can't just ignore it."

Jiang He felt a sharp pain in her heart as she watched their interaction.

She and Lin Yanqing were once so close, but now things have come to this.

"You don't need to discuss it anymore. My conditions are not changing. I'll give you three days to consider. If you don't agree, then you can expect to receive a court summons."

After saying that, Jiang He turned and left, leaving Lin Yanqing and Lin Yao standing there, looking at each other in bewilderment.

Seeing Lin Yanqing's worried expression over Jiang He's matter, Lin Yao felt a strange emotion welling up inside her, and her affection for him grew stronger.

In her eyes, Lin Yanqing's inner conflict only proved that he was a good man who valued loyalty and affection.

So, feigning magnanimity, she gently took Lin Yanqing's hand, her tone tender yet firm: "Yanqing, I know you're in a difficult position. I'm willing to suffer for you, even if I never have a formal title, I'll accept it. As long as you're happy, I'll do anything."

Upon hearing this, Lin Yanqing felt as if he had been struck by lightning, and was instantly overwhelmed with emotion.

He hugged Lin Yao tightly, his voice slightly choked with emotion: "Yao Yao, how can you be so kind? I really don't know how to thank you."

Lin Yao was in his arms, a slight smile playing on her lips, a hint of barely perceptible smugness flashing in her eyes.

After releasing Lin Yao, Lin Yanqing immediately discussed the matter with his family.

Lin Yanqing's parents were initially opposed, but eventually agreed after Lin Yanqing persisted.

With her family's support, Lin Yanqing quickly called Jiang He back.

Once the call connected, he took a deep breath and said, "Jiang He, I agree to your conditions. From now on, we'll do things as agreed, and I hope you'll keep your promise."

Jiang He was silent for a few seconds before calmly replying, "Okay, I understand."

After hanging up the phone, Lin Yanqing felt a mix of emotions.

But Lin Yao grabbed his hand and said, "It's okay, Yan Qing, I'm here for you."
