Chapter 413 He has a woman he likes.

The next day, Lou Suying woke up naturally and went to the Qianqing Palace.

She went to the place she was looking for and learned that Murong was discussing state affairs with the cabinet ministers in the Southern Study, so she simply went into the Hanzhang Room to wait.

When Murong came out of the South Study, Jiqing immediately reported to him that Lou Suyi had come to the Qianqing Palace.

Murong was surprised that Lou Suying would grace him with her presence. To say "graciously" was no exaggeration, as the Empress was known for her laziness and gluttony, and she had rarely taken the initiative to visit him.

Although he hadn't been to Xianfu Palace these past few days, only he knew how much he missed her.

He didn't know why he insisted on competing with her; perhaps he wanted to see if she cared about him...

Seeing that his master looked dazed, Ji Qing knew that only the Empress had the ability to make His Majesty so distracted. He coughed lightly and asked, "The Empress is currently in the Hanzhang Chamber. Does Your Majesty wish to see her?"

Murong snapped out of his daze and headed straight for Hanzhang's room.

Although he tried to keep himself from rushing, he still walked a little too fast.

Ji Qing watched this unfold, shaking his head and sighing. His Majesty truly had no resistance whatsoever in front of the Empress.

Even though His Majesty is so concerned about his image, he hasn't mentioned the Empress at all these days, but who knows how much he misses her in his heart.

He hurried after him...

After Murong had gone far away, Xie Zhijie came out of the South Study.

He had overheard Murong and Jiqing's conversation and had only one thought in his mind: Su Yi was in Qianqing Palace. If he went to the palace road that Su Yi would definitely take on her way back to Xianfu Palace, he could catch a glimpse of her.

It's unclear how long Su Yi will stay in Qianqing Palace. Lunch is coming up soon, and she might leave after having lunch.

He knew perfectly well that he should avoid meeting Su Yi at this critical juncture, but he just felt that this was a golden opportunity, and if he missed it, he didn't know when he would be able to see Su Yi again.

Inside Hanzhang's room, Lou Suying was wandering around aimlessly. Sometimes she paced back and forth, sometimes she sat at the desk, but seeing the obscure and difficult books on it, she lost interest after flipping through a couple of pages.

Later, she got up and walked around, but when she got bored, she sat back down at her desk.

After sighing for a while, she began rummaging through drawers and cabinets.

She knew it was wrong of her to do this, but she was really bored.

She saw a drawer next to her, pulled one out at random, and saw that it was filled with stacks of letters.

Driven by curiosity, she took out a letter and was about to open it when Murong's voice suddenly rang out: "What is the Empress doing?!"

Lou Suyi's hand trembled, and the letter in her hand fluttered to the ground.

She vaguely saw a woman's portrait on the letter, but not the whole face; it looked familiar. Upon closer inspection, it seemed that all the letters contained a woman's portrait. Curious, she wanted to see for herself, but at that moment, Murong quickly came to her, picked up the letter, and swiftly put it into a drawer.

Only then did she realize that her behavior was somewhat inappropriate, and she explained sheepishly, "I didn't mean to peek."

Judging from his nervous expression, anyone who didn't know better would have thought the painting depicted his lover.

Murong remained silent, carefully collected all the letters, stuffed them back into the drawer, and said calmly, "Lunch is ready, let's go."

Lou Suyi's gaze fell on the drawer, a large stack of letters. Surely they couldn't all be from one woman? So, his affection for her was fake; he actually had someone else he liked?
She didn't know why, but she always felt uncomfortable, and she didn't know if it was because she was presumptuous or because she felt ashamed.

She had originally come to coax him, but now she felt he didn't need her to. During lunch, Lou Suying was very quiet, which Murong found somewhat unusual.

He would occasionally serve food to Lou Suyi, who would eat absentmindedly, whatever he offered her, and soon feel full.

"Why did you come here today?" Murong asked, breaking the silence when Lou Suyi remained silent.

Lou Suying then remembered her true purpose for coming. She had originally intended to say a few kind words to appease His Majesty the Emperor, but now she seemed rather disheartened. What was wrong with her?
For a moment, Lou Suying was somewhat bewildered, and her reaction was a beat slow.

Murong rarely saw Lou Suying with such an expression, and thought she had encountered some problem: "Is there something you want to tell me?"

Looking at Murong Qingjun's handsome face, Lou Suying recalled the large stack of letters with portraits of women in his drawer and blurted out, "Who is the woman in the painting?"

She wanted to know more about whether it was someone he liked.

With such a large stack of papers and him so nervous, she couldn't think of any other reason besides his liking for them.

Murong's eyes flickered slightly; he couldn't very well tell the truth. If she knew that Yunzhong conveyed all her information to him through drawings every day, he wondered if she would be angry or upset.

"Eat more." Murong didn't want to lie to Lou Suyi, but he didn't dare to tell the truth either, so he simply tried to divert Lou Suyi's attention.

Lou Suyi felt a chill run down her spine when she saw Murong's guilty look.

It seems there really is a problem, otherwise he wouldn't be avoiding it. So, does this mean he has a woman he likes?
No, why would she feel heartbroken?
Lou Suyi didn't press the matter further, and Murong breathed a sigh of relief.

Lou Suyi, on the other hand, found the food tasteless and only knew how to eat with her head down. In the end, it was Murong who reminded her that she had eaten too much before she put down her chopsticks.

"Your Majesty is busy, I'll go back now." Lou Suying, supporting her large pregnant belly, was about to leave.

Murong hadn't seen Lou Suying for some time and was naturally reluctant to let her leave so soon: "Since you're here, why not stay a little longer before you go..."

Lou Suyi shook her head and said, "No, I want to go back and keep Chen'er company."

Before Murong could reply, she headed out of the Qianqing Palace.

As soon as she sat in the palanquin, the cold wind blew in, and she shivered.

"Does Your Highness feel cold?" Jinshu, being observant, quickly asked.

Lou Suyi looked at the gloomy sky and thought to herself, "I didn't feel cold when I came, so why did my heart tremble slightly when I went back?"

"It's not cold," Lou Suyi said, then suddenly sighed.

Why does my heart feel so heavy? She suddenly felt as if a mountain was pressing down on her heart, making it hard to breathe.

Jinshu felt that something was wrong with her master. He was fine when he came, so why did he seem so preoccupied when he left?

The imperial procession had only gone a short distance when they saw a young man in a scarlet court robe walking towards them not far ahead. Lou Suyi, however, was so preoccupied that she didn't even see him.

Then the man suddenly bowed to her and said, "Your Majesty, I respectfully wish you good health."

Lou Suying recognized Xie Zhijie's voice and didn't look at him directly, dismissing his formalities: "You may excuse yourself, sir."

Xie Zhijie, not wanting to miss this opportunity to speak with Lou Suyi, quickly added, "Your Majesty, I have something I wish to say to Her Majesty alone. May I speak with you in private?"
