Chapter 132 What are you thinking, caring so much about your ex-boyfriend?

I played downstairs in the apartment complex for over an hour.

Ruby was full of energy and exhausted Shen Guining.

She took out her phone to check the time; it was almost five o'clock. Now was the perfect time to go upstairs and cook some porridge for Qu Yanci.

"Ruby, let's go home."

The words left her lips unconsciously, but then she realized that the apartment was no longer "home" to her.

"Miss Shen?"

Someone suddenly called her from behind.

Shen Guining stopped and turned around.

It was the housekeeper who cooked for us. She walked over quickly, carrying a basket of groceries, and exclaimed, "It really is you! I thought I was seeing things!"

Shen Guining greeted her, "Auntie."

"It's been so long since I've seen you." The aunt smiled, looked down at Ruby, and said, "You don't know, when you first left, Ruby stopped eating for a while, which worried me so much. Fortunately, Mr. Qu coaxed her back to normal."

Shen Guining tightened her grip on the leash.

She really owes Ruby a lot.

The aunt also said, "Mr. Qu takes great care of Ruby. He personally walks the dog and feeds her whenever he has free time."

Shen Guining was momentarily stunned.

She knew that Qu Yanci was a germaphobe, disliked pets, and couldn't tolerate pet hair falling everywhere in the house. She was already very grateful that Qu Yanci had allowed her to keep a dog.

Incredibly, he would personally take care of Ruby.

The aunt knew she shouldn't ask, but she couldn't help herself, "Have you and Mr. Qu gotten back together?"

Shen Guining's thoughts returned, and she gently shook her head.

Seeing this, the aunt stopped talking and changed the subject, "Are you having dinner here tonight? I'm going upstairs to cook now."

Shen Guining thought for a moment and nodded, "Auntie, could you please cook some porridge later? Mr. Qu is sick and needs to eat light meals these days."

"Okay, sure," the aunt replied. Back at the apartment, Shen Guining went to the kitchen to wash her hands, took out a thermometer from the first-aid kit, and went to the master bedroom to check if the patient was feeling any better.

She moved very gently, turning the doorknob and pushing the door open.

Qu Yanci was still asleep.

In the dim light, his sharp and cold facial features appeared much softer, and his messy short hair slightly covered his eyebrows, highlighting his three-dimensional and deep bone structure.

His appearance naturally gives people a sense of distance, making him seem unapproachable, and his noble temperament is ingrained in his bones.

Shen Guining quietly stood by the bed and took his temperature by holding the thermometer close to his forehead.

With a soft "beep," the screen displayed 38.4℃.

The body temperature is not high, so there should be nothing to worry about.

Just as she was about to withdraw her hand, a strong hand suddenly grabbed her wrist.

He exerted force, and Shen Guining was caught off guard and pulled forward, landing squarely on top of the man, letting out a short scream.

Even through the blanket, I could still feel the heat beneath me.

The person who was just sleeping has already opened their eyes.

They were so close, their eyes met, and their gazes probed into the depths of each other's pupils.

His breath was scorching hot, spraying out evenly.

Shen Guining's eyelashes trembled, and she struggled to get up, flustered. "Qu Yanci, why are you pulling me?"

He didn't let go, his gaze fixed on her, his voice low and husky, "What are you doing?"

Shen Guining lay motionless against his chest, her heart pounding uncontrollably. "Let me take your temperature."

Qu Yanci grabbed the back of her head and pressed, "Why are you so concerned about your ex-boyfriend? What are you thinking?"

"I..." Shen Guining's cheeks flushed slightly, and she lowered her eyes uncomfortably. "Why aren't you wearing any clothes?"

The silk quilt slipped down, leaving his arms exposed, the lines of his pectoral muscles faintly visible in the air.
