Chapter 450 Show your true abilities!
Indeed, although Qinglan City is being evacuated, the municipal government building, serving as the command center, still has hundreds of staff members on duty. Furthermore, nearly a thousand people who could not evacuate in time are gathered in the shelter on the first floor.
If we fight with all our might here, this building could collapse, and everyone inside will die.
"Damn it," Hong cursed under his breath, "this position is too disadvantageous."
Sakar seemed to have noticed this as well, and he smiled cruelly: "What? Worried about the lives of those ants below? How laughable, a powerful being like you, caring about the lives of the weak."
"It is precisely because we care about the weak that we can become true strongmen," Hong coldly replied. "A beast like you, who only knows how to kill, will never understand this principle."
"Hahaha, a beast?" Sakaar laughed. "Then I'll show you the power of this beast! Kara Arcane—Exploding Fire Rain!"
He raised his hands high, and suddenly countless fireballs appeared in the sky. These fireballs were densely packed, each the size of a basketball, radiating destructive energy fluctuations.
"Oh no!" Hong's expression changed drastically.
If those fireballs were to fall, the entire building would be destroyed, and no one inside would survive.
"Diamond Barrier!" Hong unleashed all his power of law without hesitation, forming a massive golden dome above the entire building.
Fireballs rained down like a storm, crashing against the golden dome. Each impact shook the dome, and Hong felt immense pressure coursing through his body.
"Hold on, we must hold on!" Hong gritted his teeth, veins bulging on his forehead.
Maintaining such a large defensive barrier is extremely costly. Even worse, he has to devote most of his power to defense, leaving him no effective means of counterattacking.
Sakar, seeing Hong's predicament, laughed smugly, "How about that? To protect those useless fools, you don't even have the strength to fight back, do you? That's the tragedy of the weak—only able to passively take the beating!"
He intensified his attacks, increasing both the number and power of the fireballs. Cracks began to appear on Hong's golden dome, threatening to collapse at any moment.
"This can't go on," Hong thought to himself, considering a solution. "We must find a way to shift the battlefield and lure him away from this building."
But Sakar clearly saw through Hong's intentions. He sneered, "Trying to lure me away? Dream on! I'm going to kill you right here, and bury this building and everyone inside!"
After saying that, he conjured a huge fireball, three meters in diameter, containing terrifying energy.
"Can you withstand this attack?" Sakaar laughed wildly, hurling the giant fireball at Hong.
Hong knew that if this attack exploded, the golden dome would surely collapse. He had to make a choice—either abandon his defenses and launch a full-scale counterattack, or withstand the full force of the attack.
“My choice was clear from the very beginning,” Hong said, his eyes hardening.
Instead of abandoning his defenses, he strengthened the golden dome. At the same time, his body began to glow, and golden power of law ignited within him.
"Indestructible Vajra Body!" Hong roared, his entire body transforming into pure gold, radiating an immortal light.
This is his ultimate move, pushing the Law of Metal to its limit, temporarily granting his body a near-invincible defensive state. However, the cost is a significant drain on his life force, and he only uses it as a last resort.
A giant fireball slammed into Hong, creating a deafening explosion. Flames shot into the sky, and the entire rooftop was razed to the ground. But the golden dome remained intact, protecting the building below.
"What?!" Sakaar exclaimed in shock, "You actually took my full-force attack with your own body?!"
When the smoke cleared, Hong remained standing. His body was covered in cracks, and golden blood flowed from his wounds, a gruesome sight. But he did not fall, maintaining the defense of the golden dome.
“As long as I’m alive,” Hong’s voice was weak but firm, “I won’t let you hurt anyone in this building.”
Sakaar was stunned. He had traversed the universe for many years and seen countless powerful beings, but he had never seen anyone like Hong who was willing to sacrifice himself to protect the weak.
“You fool,” Sakar said, his tone tinged with complex emotion, “is it worth it for those ants?”
“Of course it’s worth it,” Hong raised his head, his eyes clear and resolute, “because they are my compatriots, the people I swear to protect. Isn’t the purpose of being strong to protect those who cannot protect themselves?”
“A laughable idea,” Sakar scoffed, but the sarcasm in his voice had lessened considerably. “However, I admit you are a worthy opponent. Therefore, I will use my strongest move to send you on your way, as a sign of respect.”
He took a deep breath, and the blue flames on his body suddenly turned white. These were flames of even higher temperature and greater power, capable of melting anything.
"Kara Arcane Secret Technique - White Flame Annihilation!" Sakaar's entire body transformed into white flames, like a miniature sun, radiating an aura of annihilation.
Hong sensed an unprecedented crisis. The power of this attack had surpassed the stellar level and was approaching the cosmic level. If he were to take it head-on, he would surely die.
However, if he dodges, the building and everyone inside will perish.
"So, this is my limit?" Hong thought with a wry smile. "But to die protecting others is a worthy death."
He closed his eyes, focusing all his power of law onto the golden dome, preparing to exchange his life for this final defense.
But just as Sakar's attack was about to strike, an even more powerful energy surge suddenly appeared.
"Storm Barrier - Shield of Heaven!"
A voice rang out in the air, and then a huge storm barrier descended from the sky, blocking the way between Hong and Sakar.
Sakar's white flames slammed into the storm barrier, unleashing a tremendous collision. The two terrifying energies canceled each other out, ultimately destroying each other.
"Rowan!" Hong opened his eyes and saw the figure descending from the sky.
Luo Wen landed beside Hong, looking at his brother covered in wounds, a flash of anger in his eyes: "Sorry I'm late."
“No, you’ve arrived just in time,” Hong smiled weakly. “A second later, and you’d be collecting my corpse.”
“Then I’ll regret it for the rest of my life,” Rowan said, supporting the swaying Hong. “Leave the rest to me. You go and rest. I’ll handle this guy.”
“Be careful, he’s very strong,” Hong warned, “and extremely cruel.”
“I know,” Rowan’s eyes turned cold, “It’s precisely because of its cruelty that I won’t show any mercy.”
He placed Hong in a safe corner, then turned to face Sakar.
“Another one,” Sakaar sized up Rowan. “His aura is also at the sixth level of the Stellar Realm. There are quite a few sixth-level Stellar Realm warriors on Earth.” “I’m different from Hong,” Rowan said coldly. “I don’t need to protect this building, so I can fight with all my might. And you will pay the price for what you just did to Hong.”
“Anyone can talk big,” Sakar scoffed. “Let me see what you’re really capable of.”
Just then, Thor arrived. He saw the injured Hong and immediately understood the situation.
"Rowan, do you need my help?" Thor asked.
“No need,” Rowan shook his head. “You protect Hong; I can handle him on my own.”
"Are you sure?" Thor asked, somewhat worried. "This guy's aura is very strong; he's at least at the peak of the ninth rank of the Stellar level."
“I’m sure,” Rowan’s eyes gleamed with fighting spirit, “and I still have a score to settle with him. He injured Hong so badly, I’ll make him pay double.”
After speaking, Rowan's aura began to rise. The Storm Law circulated within his body, reaching an unprecedented intensity.
Sakar sensed Rowan's imposing aura, and his expression finally turned serious. He realized that although this Earthling was only at the sixth level of the Stellar Realm, the combat power he unleashed far exceeded that level.
“Interesting,” Sakar licked his lips. “Looks like I’ve met an opponent worth going all out against. Let’s see how long you can last against me!”
“It’s not about how long you can hold out,” Rowan sneered, “but how long you can survive under my watch.”
The two auras collided in mid-air, creating visible energy fluctuations. Under this oppressive force, the remaining structure on the rooftop began to crack and collapse.
Upon seeing this, Thor immediately deployed his lightning domain to protect Hong and the surrounding environment.
“It’s about to begin,” Hong said weakly. “When Rowan gets angry, his strength increases several levels. That Kara guy is in trouble.”
“I believe in Rowan,” Thor nodded. “He will definitely win.”
In the distance, countless citizens gazed up at the battle atop the building. Although they couldn't see the specifics, the terrifying energy fluctuations and soaring light told them that an earth-shattering battle was underway.
"We must win," a mother murmured, holding her child. "For us, for everyone, we must win."
The atmosphere on the roof of the city government building was extremely heavy.
Rowan and Sakar were only ten meters apart, their auras clashing fiercely in mid-air. The energies of the storm and the flames intertwined, forming a visible vortex that churned the surrounding air into chaos.
“Come on, Earthling,” Sakaar cracked his neck, making a snapping sound, “let me see how much stronger you are than that guy in the golden armor.”
“You’ll find out soon enough,” Rowan said casually, “and I guarantee you’ll regret saying that.”
The words had barely left his mouth when Rowan vanished. Sakar's pupils contracted, and he immediately became alert. His combat experience was extremely rich; he instantly deduced that Rowan had used some kind of high-speed movement technique.
"Here!" Sakaar suddenly turned around and slapped his back with his palm.
But there was nothing there.
"No, it's up there!" Sakar was startled and immediately looked up.
Sure enough, Rowan had appeared ten meters above him without him noticing. Even more terrifying, dozens of storm blades had gathered around Rowan, each radiating terrifying cutting power.
"Storm Law - Burial of Ten Thousand Blades!" Rowan said coldly.
Dozens of storm blades shot towards Sakar like a shower of flowers, each one incredibly fast and with a tricky angle, blocking all escape routes.
"Hmph, a mere trick!" Sakaar sneered, and the white flames on his body suddenly erupted, forming a spherical fire shield.
The storm blades struck the fire shield, creating a series of explosive sounds. But Sakar's defense was indeed strong, managing to block all the attacks.
"Is that all the strength you've got?" Sakaar scoffed. "Looks like nothing special."
Before he could finish speaking, his expression suddenly changed drastically. He discovered that the storm blades that had been blocked had not dissipated, but had instead reformed in the air, forming a massive storm cage that trapped him at its center.
"This is... a domain-level control technique?" Sakaar exclaimed in shock. "How could a sixth-tier stellar-level martial artist like you possibly master this level of law application?"
“Because I’ve witnessed true power in the universe,” Rowan said calmly, “and received top-tier training. Your intelligence is outdated; you still think Earth is that weak planet you can bully at will.”
As he spoke, Rowan clenched his fists, and the Storm Cage began to shrink. Countless wind blades slashed towards Sakar from all directions, each one sharp enough to cut through alloy.
"Trying to trap me? Dream on!" Sakaar roared, and the white flames surged once more, "White Flame Impact!"
A terrifying burst of fiery energy erupted from his body, sweeping outwards. Wherever the white flames touched, even the Storm Blade was melted, and the entire cage began to collapse.
boom!
With a deafening explosion, the Storm Cage was forcibly broken open. Sakar burst out, but he also had several wounds on his body, from which blue blood was flowing.
“Not bad, you managed to hurt me,” Sakaar wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, his fighting spirit intensifying. “Looks like I’ll have to show you my true skills.”
He formed complex hand seals, and his aura surged once more. Golden patterns began to appear within the white flames, signifying the activation of the power deep within the Kara people's bloodline.
"Bloodline Awakening - Flame Demon Incarnation!" Sakaar roared.
His body began to swell, growing from two meters tall to over three meters. His skin hardened, as if he were wearing a layer of fiery armor. Most astonishingly, two wings made of flames sprouted from his back.
“This is the power of the Kara royal bloodline,” Sakar’s voice deepened, “You are the first stellar-level warrior to force me to use this form. Be proud of that!”
Thor's expression turned serious upon seeing this: "This guy can get stronger? Can Rowan handle him?"
“Trust him,” Hong said weakly. “Rowan hasn’t used his full strength yet.”
Indeed, Rowan remained calm in the face of Sakar's bloodline awakening. He merely flexed his wrist slightly and said, "Bloodline power, huh? Interesting. However, I also have my trump cards."
Luo Wen closed his eyes, and the Storm Law within his body began to resonate. During his cultivation at Shennong Peak, his understanding of the Storm Law had deepened further. Now, it was time to unleash that power.
