Chapter 423 Special Skills
Chapter 423 Special Skills
"Where?" Elena asked immediately.
"The coordinates indicate the edge of this star field," Silvermoon calculated carefully, "approximately three thousand light-years away."
“Three thousand light-years away. That should be the location where the Lord of Darkness is sealed,” Elena’s expression turned extremely serious. “It seems their plan is more urgent than we thought.”
“Here are detailed information about other outposts,” Rowan continued, flipping through the documents, “including the defensive layout and personnel configuration of the command center.”
The intelligence gained from this operation gave them a clearer understanding of the Dark Minions' overall strategy. The organization was indeed large and meticulously planned, but now they held the initiative.
“Based on this intelligence, we can formulate a comprehensive elimination plan,” Elena began planning the next steps, “first eliminate the outer outposts, and finally attack the command center.”
"Is time pressing?" Miyamoto asked.
“According to the energy transmission records, they have already collected a considerable amount of negative energy,” Elena analyzed the data. “If they continue like this, the time it takes for the Dark Lord to resurrect could be shortened from thousands of years to hundreds of years, or even less.”
“Then we must act immediately,” Selena agreed.
“Yes, but before attacking other strongholds, we need to deal with the war in Reno Harbor first,” Elena said, recalling the ongoing conflict between the two empires. “If the war isn’t stopped, they will continue to provide negative energy to the Dark Servants.”
“Rowan and Silvermoon have already tried diplomatic channels, but failed,” Ares, who was aware of the situation, “it seems that the only way to force a ceasefire is through military force.”
“This is the last resort,” Elena nodded in agreement. “Although it may cause a diplomatic dispute, we must do it for the greater good.”
"So what is our next goal?" Silvermoon asked.
"First, we must force a halt to the war at Port Reno," Elena outlined the order of operations, "then we must eliminate the remaining strongholds of the Dark Servants. Finally, we must locate the Dark Lord's seal and ensure he cannot be resurrected."
Based on the detailed intelligence obtained from the first stronghold, Elena devised a systematic elimination plan. They decided to eliminate the Dark Servants' strongholds one by one, starting from the periphery and moving towards the core, ultimately striking at the command center.
“According to intelligence, the next target should be here,” Elena pointed to a marker on the 3D map. “This is an intelligence gathering outpost, responsible for monitoring the entire star system.”
"What's so special about this outpost?" Rowan asked.
"According to the prisoners' memories, a high-ranking servant known as the 'Shadow Lord' is stationed here," Silvermoon said, flipping through the information obtained from the previous stronghold. "His strength far surpasses that of ordinary servants, and he possesses many important secrets."
“The Shadow Lord?” Thor Ares frowned. “He doesn’t sound like someone easy to deal with.”
“Indeed, according to records, he was one of the earliest servants of the Dark Lord, existing for thousands of years,” Elena’s expression turned solemn. “His strength may have already approached the level of a King-level Immortal.”
“Then we need to be even more careful,” Ice Queen Selena cautioned. “Even we cannot underestimate an enemy of this caliber.”
“That’s right, and the location of the stronghold is also very special,” Elena continued her analysis. “It’s located near a natural void rift, in a complex geographical environment that could easily be exploited by the enemy.”
Void rifts are extremely dangerous phenomena in the universe, where space is highly unstable, and a slight misstep could result in being swept into nothingness. Fighting in such an environment undoubtedly adds many variables.
“In that case, we need to devise a more meticulous plan,” Sword Saint Miyamoto said earnestly. “We can’t launch a rash attack like we did last time.”
After detailed discussions, they devised a more cautious battle plan. This time, they decided to involve all personnel instead of operating in groups, to ensure sufficient combat power when facing a powerful enemy.
Two hours later, the six arrived near their target location. The environment here was indeed harsh, with distorted spatial rifts everywhere and lightning-like energy leaping through the void from time to time.
“In this environment, our perception abilities are greatly affected,” Silvermoon tried to use her mental power to locate the stronghold, but found the effect to be very limited. “The distortion of space interferes with my detection.”
“I’ll give it a try,” Rowan said, using his understanding of the spatial laws inherited from the Storm King to try and adapt to the complex environment. After some effort, he finally pinpointed the approximate location of the stronghold.
“There,” Rowan pointed to what appeared to be an ordinary-looking asteroid, “the base is built inside the planet and is protected by a powerful concealment array.”
“They seem to value this outpost highly,” Elena observed her surroundings. “Choosing such a dangerous location suggests there’s something important inside.”
As they approached the target planet, they immediately sensed intense malice. A dark and chilling aura emanated from within the planet, creating an oppressive atmosphere for everyone.
“It’s the aura of the Shadow Lord,” Elena immediately identified the source of the oppressive aura. “He’s discovered us.”
As soon as the words were spoken, the entire surface of the planet began to tremble violently. Countless black beams of light shot out from the ground, weaving together in the air to form a massive capture net.
“Spatial confinement,” a deep and authoritative voice echoed in the void, “foolish lackeys of light, now that you’ve come, don’t even think about leaving.”
Instantly, the surrounding space began to solidify, and the six people found their movement speed drastically reduced. This spatial control technology was extremely advanced; even a powerful expert at the King-level Immortal realm felt restricted.
"Break!" Elena immediately unleashed a powerful burst of light energy, attempting to tear apart the spatial confinement. Surprisingly, her attack only loosened the restraints slightly, without completely breaking them.
"Interesting, the Holy Maiden of Light is indeed quite powerful," the Shadow Lord's voice rang out again, "but within my domain, your power will be significantly weakened."
As the sound faded, a colossal figure slowly rose from the planet's interior. It was a ten-meter-tall dark giant, shrouded in thick shadow, with only a pair of scarlet eyes clearly visible. Even more terrifying, the space around him distorted, as if reality itself were bending before him.
“Shadow Lord,” Elena said, looking intently at this powerful enemy, “your strength is greater than described in the intelligence.”
"Haha, that's because I recently received my master's blessing," the Shadow Lord said smugly. "Now, I'm infinitely close to true immortality."
“True immortality?” Ares exclaimed in shock. “You mean…”
"That's right, I'm about to break through to the King-level Immortal," the Shadow Lord said arrogantly. "Once I fully break through, it will be the death knell for you lackeys of light."
This news put immense pressure on everyone. A dark powerhouse on the verge of breaking through to the Immortal King level posed a threat far beyond imagination. If he were to succeed, the consequences would be unimaginable.
“Then we absolutely cannot let you leave here alive,” Elena said firmly. “Everyone, give it your all, hold nothing back.” “Judgment of Light!” Elena launched the first attack, a dazzling light piercing towards the Shadow Lord like a sword.
But the Shadow Lord merely waved his hand dismissively, and a black barrier blocked all the light. "Is that all? You disappoint me greatly."
"Wrath of Thor!" Ares unleashed a terrifying lightning attack, with countless bolts of lightning leaping through the void.
"Extreme Ice Domain," Selena's ice-based laws resonated with the surrounding void rifts, forming a massive ice storm.
"All swords return to one," Miyamoto's sword intent soared into the sky, and countless sword energies converged into a giant light sword.
The combined attack of the three King-level Immortals was incredibly powerful, and even true Immortals would have to take it seriously. But the Shadow Lord appeared unusually relaxed.
"Shadow Devour," he unleashed a massive black hole, absorbing all the attacks, "your power will become nourishment for my breakthrough."
"How is this possible?" Selena stared in disbelief as her attack was so easily neutralized.
"In the Shadow Realm, I am the absolute ruler," the Shadow Lord roared with laughter. "None of your attacks can harm me."
Indeed, within this space under his control, the Shadow Lord's power was greatly enhanced. Meanwhile, the six intruders were severely suppressed.
“We must find a way to break through his domain,” Elena calmly analyzed the situation, “otherwise we will never be able to defeat him.”
"But how do we break through it?" Silvermoon asked. "His domain covers too large an area and has merged with the surrounding void rifts."
Just as everyone was racking their brains for a solution, the Shadow Lord launched his counterattack. "Since you don't know what's good for you, then I'll personally send you on your way. Shadow Tentacles."
Countless black tentacles stretched out from the void, each possessing terrifying destructive power. These tentacles were not only incredibly strong, but also highly corrosive, gradually weakening even the defenses of a King-level Immortal.
"Be careful, don't get touched by the tentacles," Elena warned the others as they dodged. "These tentacles have the ability to corrode souls."
The six began moving at high speed through the void, trying to avoid the attacks of the shadow tentacles. But there were too many tentacles, and the Shadow Lord was constantly increasing their numbers.
“This can’t go on,” Ares said as he fought. “Our strength will gradually be depleted.”
Just then, Rowan suddenly had an idea. He remembered the records of spacetime storms in the Storm King's legacy, that power that could distort spacetime, which might be able to break through the Shadow Lord's domain.
“Everyone, buy me some time,” Rowan shouted. “I’m going to try out a special skill.”
“Understood,” the other five immediately adjusted their formation, protecting Rowan in the center.
Rowan began to delve deeper into the profound power inherited from the Storm King. This power was usually sealed, as using it required an immense expenditure of life force. But the current situation no longer allowed him to hold back.
"Time-Space Storm - Forbidden Form," Rowan began to unleash this extremely dangerous skill.
Instantly, time and space began to distort violently, centered on Rowan. This distorting power far exceeded that of ordinary spacetime attacks, and even began to affect the Shadow Lord's domain.
"What?!" The Shadow Lord showed surprise for the first time. "How could you possibly master this level of spacetime laws?"
The spacetime storm continued to expand, gradually colliding fiercely with the shadow realm. Two different levels of law forces clashed in the void, generating astonishing energy fluctuations.
"Impossible! How could a mere Realm Lord level warrior threaten my domain?" The Shadow Lord roared angrily, beginning to do everything in his power to maintain his domain.
However, the spacetime storm unleashed by Rowan was far too powerful, containing a level of laws that even exceeded the Shadow Lord's comprehension. This was the culmination of the Storm King's millennia of research, a true king-level immortal skill.
"Ah!" Rowan cried out in pain. Releasing a skill of this level had placed an enormous burden on his body. He could feel his life force rapidly draining away, but he couldn't stop, or everyone would die here.
“Rowan,” Silvermoon looked at him worriedly, “your breath is rapidly weakening.”
"I'm fine," Rowan said through gritted teeth, "It's worth it as long as we can break through his domain."
The battle between the spacetime storm and the shadow realm has reached a fever pitch. Huge energy surges are erupting continuously in the void, even affecting the surrounding void rifts.
"Damn brat, are you playing with your life?" The Shadow Lord realized Rowan's strategy. "You want to trade your life for a slim chance of victory?"
“If this can stop the Lord of Darkness’s resurgence, then it’s worth it,” Rowan replied firmly, while further amplifying the power of the spacetime storm.
This intensification nearly exhausted Rowan's remaining life force. His hair began to turn white, his skin lost its luster, and he seemed to have aged decades in an instant.
But his sacrifice was not in vain. The temporal storm finally overwhelmed the Shadow Realm, beginning to tear apart the structure of this dark space.
“No, my domain!” The Shadow Lord cried out in horror as he watched his painstakingly built domain crumble bit by bit. “You madman! Do you know what you’re doing?”
With the collapse of the Shadow Domain, the Shadow Lord's strength began to decline sharply. Without the domain's enhancement, his strength was only equivalent to that of an ordinary King-level Immortal.
"Now's the time!" Elena seized the opportunity. "Everyone, attack with full force!"
"Holy Sword of Light!" Elena unleashed her strongest skill, a giant sword made of pure light laws slashing towards the Shadow Lord.
"Thor descends!" Ares also unleashed his full power, his terrifying lightning transforming into a phantom image of Thor.
"Absolute Zero," Selena's ice-based magic reached its peak, unleashing a chilling aura powerful enough to freeze everything.
