Chapter 402 The Best Partner
Chapter 402 The Best Partner
“It’s certainly advanced, but we have better equipment at our company,” Rowan observed the product’s technical specifications. “This level of technology isn’t exactly novel to us.”
The two spent about half an hour browsing the fourth floor, trying out some interesting tech products, but neither felt compelled to buy anything.
"Is the fifth floor the dining area?" Yin Yue asked, looking at the map.
“Yes, and I’ve heard there are a lot of unique restaurants,” Rowan said, “but it’s not dinner time yet.”
“Let’s take a look at the sixth floor, then go back to the hotel to rest,” Silvermoon suggested. “We’ve already seen enough for today.”
The sixth floor is dedicated to art and antiques. The atmosphere here is quieter and more elegant, showcasing items of historical or artistic value.
“These artworks are indeed of a very high standard,” Silvermoon said, admiring a painting from an ancient civilization. “You can feel the rich historical atmosphere.”
“Yes, some of them are even more valuable than what we see in museums,” Rowan said, also captivated by the artworks.
After browsing the art section for a while, Silvermoon began to show signs of fatigue: "Let's go back. We're really tired after walking around all afternoon."
“Okay,” Rowan checked the time. “It’s five in the afternoon now, it’s time to go back to the hotel and rest.”
The two were about to leave the shopping mall, but just as they were walking toward the exit, Rowan suddenly stopped.
"Wait for me in the lobby for a moment," Rowan said to Silvermoon. "I'm going to the restroom."
“Okay, I’ll wait for you here,” Silvermoon nodded and then sat down in the lounge area of the lobby.
Rowan strode toward the restroom, but after turning the corner, he immediately changed course and returned to the Galaxy Treasures store on the third floor.
"You're back?" Ellie asked, somewhat surprised to see Rowan. "Is there anything I can help you with?"
“I want to buy that ‘Heart of the Galaxy’ necklace,” Rowan said directly, “the one my companion was looking at just now.”
“Of course!” Ellie’s face lit up with surprise. “Is it as a gift?”
“Yes, it’s for my partner,” Rowan confirmed, “but I hope to keep it a secret for now, so she doesn’t know.”
“I completely understand,” Ellie said professionally. “We can provide you with beautiful packaging and arrange delivery.”
"Delivery?" Rowan considered for a moment. "We're staying at the Blue Star Hotel, can you deliver there?"
“Of course, and we offer discreet delivery,” Ellie explained. “It can be delivered at your specified time, guaranteed to remain undetected.”
"Then deliver it to VIP room A-7 at the hotel at 10:00 AM tomorrow," Rowan instructed. "Please deliver it under the guise of hotel service."
“No problem, we’ll arrange everything perfectly,” Ellie assured her.
Rowan paid the eight million credits and left detailed delivery information. The entire purchase process took only ten minutes, which was very efficient.
"Should we write any blessings on the packaging box?" Ellie asked as a final question.
Rowan thought for a moment: "Let's write 'To my best partner'."
“Okay, we’ll prepare carefully,” Ellie noted down the information. “It will be delivered promptly at 10:00 AM tomorrow.”
After completing his purchase, Rowan quickly returned to the lobby on the first floor. Silver Moon was still waiting in the rest area, observing the people coming and going.
"Have you been waiting long?" Rowan asked as he walked over.
“No, I just wanted to rest for a bit,” Silvermoon stood up. “Let’s go.”
The two left the shopping mall and took a taxi back to the hotel. In the car, Yin Yue seemed to be lost in thought.
“Today’s shopping was very interesting,” Silvermoon concluded. “Although the luxury items were incredibly expensive, the exquisite craftsmanship was truly remarkable.”
“Yes, especially that jewelry store,” Rowan brought it up deliberately, “the craftsmanship is truly exquisite.”
“That necklace is indeed very beautiful,” Silvermoon remarked involuntarily, then immediately added, “but the price is outrageous.”
“Eight million is indeed not cheap,” Rowan agreed, “but for jewelry of that level, the price is reasonable.”
“That’s true, but we don’t need to spend so much on these decorations,” Silvermoon rationally analyzed. “That money can be used for more meaningful things.”
“You’re right,” Rowan agreed with a smile, but inwardly he was looking forward to Silver Moon’s expression when she received the gift the next morning.
The next morning, sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the sea-view suite in Port Reno, bathing the entire space in warmth and brightness. Silver Moon woke up early and stood on the balcony, admiring the sea view under the morning light, feeling exceptionally relaxed.
Yesterday's shopping experience left a deep impression on her, especially the "Heart of the Galaxy" necklace. Although she rationally thought the price was too high, the exquisite design and unique brilliance truly captivated her.
"Forget about those luxuries," Silvermoon told herself. "Today I should experience something more meaningful."
She was getting ready to wash up and have breakfast with Rowan later when the doorbell suddenly rang.
"Who could it be so early?" Yin Yue wondered. She walked to the door and looked at the screen, where she saw a hotel staff member in a uniform standing outside.
"Hello, this is from the hotel's room service department," the waiter said politely. "We have a special service to offer you."
"Special services?" Silvermoon opened the door. "I didn't book any special services."
"Well, it's like this," the waiter explained with a smile, "this is a surprise service offered by the hotel to its VIP clients. We randomly select some distinguished guests to receive exquisite gifts. You are lucky to have been chosen."
"A gift?" Silver Moon was even more puzzled. "What kind of gift?"
The waiter took out an exquisitely packaged box from behind him. "This is a project the hotel has collaborated on with a top local jeweler. Please accept it."
Yinyue took the box and felt its weight; the packaging was extremely exquisite. The box was made of dark blue velvet, embroidered with a starry sky pattern in gold thread, and looked very expensive.
"Isn't this too expensive?" Silver Moon hesitated. "I'm just an ordinary guest."
“You are a VIP guest of our hotel, this is the service we should provide,” the waiter insisted. “Besides, this activity is random, and we would be in a difficult position if you don’t accept it.”
“Alright then, thank you,” Silvermoon finally accepted the gift. “Please convey my gratitude to the hotel management.”
"You're welcome. Have a pleasant time in Port Reno," the waiter said, bowing as he left.
Yinyue closed the door, took the package box, and returned to her room. Although she found it a little strange, she didn't think much of it since it was just a random service offered by the hotel.
"Let's see what the gift is," Silver Moon said curiously, opening the box.
The moment the box was opened, a familiar blue light illuminated her face. Inside lay quietly the "Heart of the Galaxy" necklace she had longed for all day!
"How...how is this possible?" Silver Moon stared in shock at the necklace before her, almost unable to believe her eyes. She carefully picked it up; the starstone shone with a dreamlike brilliance in the morning light, as beautiful as a real star. The moment she touched it, she could feel the gentle energy contained within the necklace, just as the salesperson had described, it truly had a calming and soothing effect.
“This is no coincidence,” Yin Yue quickly calmed down and began to analyze the situation. “It’s impossible for a hotel to randomly give away jewelry worth eight million, especially not just the necklace I had my eye on yesterday.”
She found a small card in the box with the words "For my best partner" written in elegant handwriting.
Upon seeing this sentence, Yinyue immediately understood everything.
“Rowan.” She whispered the name, a warm feeling welling up inside her.
Although the card was unsigned, no one else in the world, except Rowan, would call her "partner," and no one would notice her fondness for the necklace.
"When did he buy it?" Silver Moon recalled yesterday's events. "Right, when he said he was going to the restroom!"
Yinyue couldn't help but smile when she thought about how Luo Wen had told a little lie to buy her a gift. This thoughtful gesture made her feel both touched and warm.
Silver Moon walked to the mirror and carefully put on the necklace. The starstone landed perfectly on her collarbone, its blue light complementing her deep blue eyes, making her look exceptionally beautiful.
“It really suits me,” Silver Moon said, turning around in front of the mirror, quite satisfied with the result. “Rowan has excellent taste.”
Wearing the necklace, Yinyue felt her entire demeanor had become more elegant. But at the same time, she also began to feel uneasy about this expensive gift.
“Eight million credits,” Silvermoon murmured to herself. “It might not be a huge sum for him, but I can’t accept such a valuable gift for nothing.”
She immediately took out her communicator, ready to contact Rowan. But just as she was about to dial, she stopped.
“It’s only nine in the morning, he’s probably still sleeping,” Silvermoon checked the time. “Besides, it’s best to clarify these things face-to-face.”
She decided to wash up first, then knock on Rowan's door. But while washing up, she couldn't bear to take off her necklace, because it looked really pretty on her.
Half an hour later, Yin Yue arrived at Luo Wen's door and gently knocked.
"Rowan, it's me, Silver Moon."
"Wait a moment, I'll be right there," Rowan's voice came from inside the room.
Soon, the door opened, and Rowan had finished washing up and was dressed casually. When he saw the necklace around Silver Moon's neck, a satisfied smile appeared on his face.
“It looks great on you,” Rowan said directly. “I knew this necklace suited your style.”
"Rowan!" Silver Moon looked at him with a hint of anger, "How could you spend so much money on a gift for me? And in such a way!"
"Don't you like it?" Rowan feigned innocence. "I think it's beautiful."
“It’s not a matter of whether I like it or not,” Silvermoon said somewhat anxiously, “this necklace is worth eight million credits! I can’t accept such a valuable gift.”
"Why can't I accept it?" Rowan retorted. "We're the best partners; isn't it normal for us to exchange gifts?"
“But this is too expensive,” Silvermoon insisted. “I’ll transfer the money to you right away.”
She immediately took out her communicator, ready to transfer the money.
“No,” Rowan stopped her. “How can a gift cost money? That wouldn’t be a gift.”
"But."
“No buts,” Rowan said firmly. “This is a gift I wanted to give you, hoping it would make you happy. If you insist on paying for it, I’d rather return the necklace.”
Seeing Luo Wen's earnest expression, Yin Yue knew he was sincere. She also understood that insisting on giving him money would only hurt his good intentions.
“Then I’ll buy you a gift too,” Silvermoon finally relented. “That’s fair.”
“Sure,” Rowan readily agreed. “I’m really looking forward to seeing what gift you’ll choose.”
“Then it’s settled,” Silvermoon breathed a sigh of relief. “I’ll definitely find a gift of equal value for you.”
"It doesn't have to be of equal value, the thought is what counts," Rowan laughed. "Besides, you've already given me the best gift."
"What gift?" Silver Moon asked, puzzled.
"Seeing your happy smile is the best gift," Rowan said sincerely.
Hearing this, Yin Yue's face flushed slightly, and a warm feeling welled up in her heart. Although Luo Wen's words were simple, the emotions he expressed were very sincere.
"Alright, enough of this mushy talk," Silvermoon said, trying to sound casual. "Let's go get breakfast; I'm starving."
“Okay, let’s go,” Rowan agreed.
The two headed to the hotel restaurant together. On the way, Yin Yue kept thinking about what gift to buy for Luo Wen. It was indeed a difficult problem, because with Luo Wen's strength and status, he didn't lack most things.
"What hobbies does he usually have?" Yin Yue pondered to herself. "Cultivation, work, and... it seems he doesn't have any particular hobbies."
While dining at the restaurant, Yin Yue was distracted, her mind preoccupied with the gift.
"What are you thinking about?" Rowan noticed her state. "You've been spacing out since just now."
“I’m thinking about what gift to buy you,” Silvermoon said directly, “but it’s proving to be much harder than I imagined.”
"Why?" Rowan asked curiously.
“Because you lack nothing,” Silvermoon said, somewhat troubled, “and with such high standards, you definitely wouldn’t be interested in ordinary things.”
"Haha, you're overthinking it," Rowan laughed. "I'm not a picky person. I'll cherish anything you give me."
“That’s true, but I still want to give a special, meaningful gift,” Silvermoon insisted, “like the necklace you gave me.”
She gently stroked the necklace around her neck, and the starstone emitted a soft glow under her touch, as if responding to her emotions.
“Take your time thinking about it, no rush,” Rowan suggested. “A good gift takes time to choose.”
After breakfast, the two headed to the ocean park as planned. However, Silver Moon was preoccupied with the gift the whole way and paid little attention to the strange marine life.
