Chapter 379 Rowan finally made a decision!
Chapter 379 Rowan finally made a decision!
In the afternoon, Rowan arrived at the research institute's training room and began practicing telekinesis compression alone. The training room was a space specifically designed for telekinesis training, and it was surrounded by special materials that could absorb telekinesis fluctuations, so even high-intensity telekinesis training would not affect other areas.
"First compression, second compression," Luo Wen practiced the techniques he had learned that morning repeatedly, striving to improve his proficiency.
Each compression requires extremely precise mental control; the slightest mistake can lead to the collapse of the psychic structure. After several hours of practice, Rowan's mental energy was somewhat fatigued, but his skills had indeed improved significantly.
“It seems Master Arya’s teaching methods are quite effective,” Rowan thought during a break. “Although difficult, I can definitely learn practical skills.”
Thinking about the improved plan to combine the Starburst Sky-Splitting Blade into one, Rowan's heart was filled with anticipation. If it could really succeed, it would be a huge leap in his combat power.
In the evening, Hong came to the training room to find Luo Wen.
"How was it? Did you get used to the first day of training?" Hong asked with concern.
“Very fruitful,” Rowan wiped the sweat from his brow. “Master Arya gave me a very creative improvement plan.”
"Oh? What plan?" Hong asked curiously.
Rowan briefly introduced Hong to the concept of merging into one, as well as the training method of psychic compression.
"That's a very creative idea," Hong nodded in agreement. "If it succeeds, your combat power will definitely see a qualitative leap. However..."
"But what?" Rowan asked.
"The techniques for concentrating psychic power are notoriously difficult," Hong cautioned. "Even some seasoned psychic practitioners may not be able to master them. You need to be prepared for long-term training."
“I’m ready,” Rowan said firmly. “No matter how long it takes, I’ll persevere.”
"That's good," Hong patted Rowan on the shoulder. "If you need sparring, just let me know."
The following morning, Rowan had just finished his morning training with Master Arya and was about to return to his residence to rest for a while when he suddenly received a communication that surprised and delighted him.
"Brother Luo Wen! I've arrived at the Virtual Universe Company headquarters! Where are you?"
Upon seeing this message, Rowan's face immediately broke into a bright smile.
"Luo Feng? What brings you to headquarters?" Luo Wen replied immediately. "This is my residence in District Three. Do you know where it is?"
"I'm already on my way, I'll be there soon!" Luo Feng's reply was filled with obvious excitement.
About ten minutes later, Luo Wen's doorbell rang. Opening the door, he saw that familiar figure—Luo Feng stood outside, a hearty smile on his face. He was taller and more imposing than before, and his demeanor was more composed. However, his eyes still sparkled with the unique energy and adventurous spirit of youth.
"Brother Luo Wen!" Luo Feng exclaimed excitedly upon seeing Luo Wen, then gave him a warm hug. "Long time no see! You look great!"
"Luo Feng! This is such a surprise!" Luo Wen responded excitedly. "Come in and sit down. What brings you to headquarters all of a sudden?"
The two sat down in the living room. Luo Feng looked around. "Nice accommodation, more luxurious than I expected. It seems Virtual Universe Company values you quite a bit."
"It's alright," Rowan said modestly. "Tell me, why did you suddenly come here? I remember you were busy with other things."
"Haha, it's a long story," Luo Feng said, taking the tea from Luo Wen. "Do you remember that challenge match from before?"
“Of course I remember, that match was a sensation,” Rowan nodded and said. “You performed exceptionally well in that match.”
"After the challenge ended, I received some rewards, including a personal spaceship and some exploration privileges," Luo Feng's eyes gleamed with excitement, "so I decided to travel to some unknown star systems to broaden my horizons."
"An unknown galaxy?" Rowan immediately became interested. "That sounds exciting. Did you encounter anything interesting?"
"There are so many interesting things!" Luo Feng put down his teacup and began to enthusiastically recount his adventures. "First, I went to a place called the 'Netherworld Star Region' on the edge of the Milky Way, where there was a very peculiar phenomenon."
"What phenomenon?" Rowan asked curiously.
“Time distortion,” Luo Feng said seriously, “In certain regions of that star system, the flow of time changes abnormally. In some places, one day is equivalent to one year outside, while in others, the opposite is true.”
“This is truly amazing,” Rowan exclaimed. “What caused this?”
“According to the local indigenous civilization, it’s because a master of the laws of time perished there in ancient times, and his power of law affected the spacetime structure of the entire star field,” Luo Feng continued. “I stayed there for a week, but only a few hours passed in the outside world.”
"This kind of experience is truly rare," Rowan remarked. "What else did I encounter?"
"Then I went to a planet called 'Crystal Forest'," Luo Feng's eyes gleamed with reminiscence, "The entire planet's vegetation was made of various crystals, and when the sunlight shone down, the whole world looked like a giant kaleidoscope."
“Crystal vegetation? How is that possible?” Rowan exclaimed incredulously.
“At first, I couldn’t believe it either, but it’s true,” Luo Feng explained. “Those crystal plants not only have a dazzling appearance, but they also possess the functions of real plants, capable of photosynthesis, and even flowering and fruiting.”
"It's amazing! There are such miracles in the universe!" Rowan exclaimed in admiration.
"The most amazing thing is that those crystal fruits have the effect of enhancing mental power," Luo Feng said, taking out a small, shimmering ball from his pocket. "This is the crystal fruit I brought back. Although there's only one, its effect is quite remarkable."
Rowan took the crystal fruit and examined it carefully. He could indeed sense the pure spiritual energy it contained. "This is truly a treasure. How could you bear to give it to me?"
“We’re friends, and I know you’ve been practicing telekinesis lately, which should help you,” Luo Feng said readily. “Besides, I collected quite a few there, so this one is nothing.”
"Thank you so much," Rowan said gratefully, accepting the crystal fruit. "This gift came at just the right time."
“Besides the Crystal Forest, I also went to a place called ‘Sound Star’,” Luo Feng continued, sharing his experiences. “Everything there vibrates according to some mysterious rhythm, including the mountains, rivers, and even the air itself.”
"The Star of Music?" Rowan was drawn to the name.
“Yes, the entire planet is like a giant musical instrument,” Luo Feng described, gesturing. “The wind blowing through the valleys creates melodious music, the waterfalls cascading down create a majestic symphony, and even people’s heartbeats naturally synchronize with the planet’s rhythm.”
“This experience must be amazing,” Rowan said longingly. “It is amazing, but it’s also somewhat dangerous,” Luo Feng’s expression turned serious. “If you can’t adapt to the music there, your mind will be affected, and in severe cases, you might even lose your mind.”
“It seems that wonders in the universe are often accompanied by danger,” Rowan said thoughtfully.
“That’s right, but it’s precisely this unknown challenge that makes adventure meaningful,” Luo Feng’s eyes gleamed with renewed excitement. “Speaking of which, the reason I came to find you this time is to invite you to join me on an adventure!”
"An adventure together?" Rowan's eyes lit up. "Where to?"
“I’ve discovered a very interesting place,” Luo Feng said mysteriously in a low voice, “On the edge of the Andromeda Galaxy, there’s an area called the ‘Forbidden Mist Domain.’ It’s said to hide the ruins of an ancient civilization and many precious treasures.”
"The Forbidden Zone of Mist...that sounds very mysterious," Rowan's curiosity was piqued. "Do you know anything about the specifics of that place?"
“I’ve gathered some information,” Luo Feng said, taking out a data storage device from his pocket. “According to records, the Misty Forbidden Zone is a star field shrouded in eerie mist, and few explorers who enter it come out alive.”
"Since it's so dangerous, why go?" Although Rowan was tempted, he remained rational.
"It's precisely because it's dangerous that the treasures there haven't been stolen," Luo Feng explained. "Furthermore, there's recent news that the mist in the Misty Forbidden Zone is weakening, which may be the best opportunity for exploration in thousands of years."
“It is indeed a rare opportunity,” Rowan nodded in agreement, “but…”
“I know what you’re worried about,” Luo Feng interrupted him, “security, right? Actually, I’ve made ample preparations.”
As he spoke, Luo Feng showed off the equipment he had prepared: high-level protective gear, advanced detection instruments, ample supplies, and even emergency escape devices.
“It seems you are indeed well-prepared,” Rowan said, carefully examining the equipment. “However, my situation is somewhat unique.”
"What special circumstances?" Luo Feng asked curiously.
Rowan briefly introduced to Luo Feng that he was currently undergoing telekinetic training under Master Arya, and that Silver Moon would arrive in a month.
"I see," Luo Feng nodded after hearing this, "The guidance from the master of telekinesis is indeed very valuable, but..."
"But what?"
"A month is actually just enough time for us to complete an exploration of the Forbidden Mist Domain," Luo Feng said excitedly. "And this adventure might even help you achieve a breakthrough in your mental power cultivation."
"What do you mean?" Rowan asked with interest.
“Based on the information I’ve gathered, the ancient ruins in the Misty Forbidden Zone are likely related to mental power and telekinesis,” Luo Feng explained. “If we can find relevant ancient technologies or knowledge there, it will definitely be of great help to your cultivation.”
This reasoning was indeed very convincing, and Rowan began to seriously consider the proposal. On the one hand, he did need to focus on cultivating his telekinetic skills; on the other hand, practical combat and adventure were also important ways to improve his strength.
"Furthermore," Luo Feng continued, "it's said that there's a treasure called 'Psychic Crystal' in the Misty Forbidden Zone, which is said to greatly increase a cultivator's mental power ceiling."
"Psychic Crystal?" The name immediately caught Rowan's attention.
“Yes, although it’s just a legend, if it really exists, it would definitely be of great help to your current cultivation,” Luo Feng said. “If you miss this opportunity, you might have to wait thousands of years for the next time the fog weakens.”
Rowan fell into deep thought. A month was indeed a tight schedule, but if he could acquire treasures or knowledge that would aid in his psychic cultivation during the adventure, it would certainly be worthwhile. Moreover, since returning to headquarters, he had been engaged in tedious theoretical learning and basic training, and he definitely needed some practical experience to validate what he had learned.
"When do you want to leave?" Rowan asked.
“Anytime is fine,” Luo Feng replied immediately. “My spaceship is docked at headquarters, and all the supplies are ready.”
"Let me think about it," Rowan said, still hesitating.
"Brother Luo Wen, this is a rare opportunity," Luo Feng continued to persuade him. "Besides, with me by your side, you don't need to worry about safety. My strength is vastly different now."
As he spoke, Luo Feng released a slight amount of his aura, and Luo Wen immediately felt a powerful energy fluctuation. Clearly, Luo Feng's strength had indeed made significant progress during this period.
"Your strength has indeed improved a lot," Rowan said in surprise. "It seems that your adventures over this period have been very helpful to you."
“That’s right, real combat is the best teacher,” Luo Feng said confidently. “What you learn from books can only be transformed into real strength in real danger.”
These words struck a chord with Rowan. Although Master Arya's teachings were valuable, theoretical knowledge is ultimately insufficient; true growth often comes from the tempering of real combat.
“Alright, I agree,” Rowan finally made his decision, “but I have one condition.”
"What are the conditions? Tell me!" Luo Feng asked excitedly.
“I need to ask Master Arya for leave first and explain the situation,” Rowan said seriously. “If she doesn’t agree, then this adventure is off.”
“Of course, that’s no problem,” Luo Feng readily agreed. “After all, the guidance from a master of telekinesis is truly invaluable, and we should respect her opinion.”
“Alright, I’ll go find Master Arya now,” Rowan stood up. “You wait here for me, I’ll be right back.”
“No problem, I can use this time to organize the expedition plan,” Luo Feng nodded and said.
Rowan left his residence and strode towards the psychic research institute. His feelings were mixed. On one hand, he was excited about the upcoming adventure; on the other hand, he worried that Master Arya would not approve his leave request.
Upon reaching the top floor of the research institute, Arya was organizing some research materials. Seeing Rowan rush in, she looked up and asked, "What's wrong? You seem to have something urgent to do?"
“Master, I have a request,” Rowan said respectfully, “I would like to ask for a period of leave.”
"Are you taking leave?" Arya frowned. "Why? Is the training too strenuous?"
