Chapter 284 The Flame Magician

The two walked out of the preparation room together and arrived at the entrance of the arena. Here, they needed to separate; Luo Wen would head to the stands, while Luo Feng would enter the arena via the teleportation system.

"See you in a bit," Rowan said encouragingly at the end. "I look forward to your brilliant performance."

Luo Feng nodded, watched Luo Wen leave, and then turned to walk towards the teleportation platform. The platform was already flashing with light, preparing to teleport him to the center of the arena.

Luo Feng closed his eyes, silently reciting the key points and insights he had gained during the past few days of training, allowing his thoughts to completely calm down. When he opened his eyes again, he was already standing in the center of the spacious arena.

This is a circular arena, approximately 200 meters in diameter, surrounded by towering stands capable of holding tens of thousands of spectators. The ground is paved with a special metallic material, capable of withstanding extremely strong energy impacts. In the center of the arena is a slightly raised circular platform, the main battle area. The entire arena is covered by a semi-transparent energy shield, protecting the spectators from the effects of the battle and confining the competitors to a specific area.

The atmosphere was both exciting and tense, with tens of thousands of spectators focused on the two figures in the center of the arena.

On the teleportation platform opposite Luo Feng, Molt Davidson's figure slowly appeared. He was a young man of medium build, around twenty-five years old, with fiery red hair and piercing golden eyes. He wore the distinctive red and black combat suit of the Bauhinia Empire, over which was a long robe inlaid with flame patterns. On his hands were two red rings, his fire-elemental law amplifiers.

Upon seeing Luo Feng, Molt smiled slightly and made a polite gesture of greeting. "It's an honor to meet you, Luo Feng. I've heard you're a rising star in the Xia Universe Kingdom, possessing both the Law of Metal and telekinesis abilities."

Luo Feng returned the same polite nod, "Molter Davidson, 'The Flame Magician,' I've heard of your name for a long time."

“Then let’s have a spectacular duel,” Molt’s eyes gleamed with fighting spirit. “May the victor be the strongest.”

A holographic projection above the arena displayed the basic information and records of the two contestants, and the countdown to the match began.

"Round 4, Match 2: Xia Yuzhou Kingdom's Luo Feng vs. Bauhinia Flower Empire's Molt Davidson. Match duration: 30 minutes, rules as before. Countdown: 10, 9, 8."

In the audience, Rowan, Thor, and Hong were already seated in their places, watching the two on the field intently.

"Luo Feng seems very calm," Thor commented. "His aura is noticeably different compared to the third round."

Rowan nodded. "The training these past few days has indeed brought him significant improvement, not only in technique, but more importantly in mindset and understanding of the rules."

"Three, two, one, the match begins!"

As soon as the system notification ended, Mort immediately sprang into action. His hands quickly formed hand seals in front of his chest, chanting, "Fire Element Law - Stage of Flames."

Dozens of small flame pillars suddenly rose from the ground of the arena. These flame pillars were not randomly distributed, but formed a complex formation, surrounding Luo Feng's location in the center.

“This is Molt’s signature opening,” someone in the audience explained. “He’ll first create a field of fire to restrict his opponent’s movement, while simultaneously creating a favorable fighting environment for himself.”

Luo Feng did not immediately break through the encirclement of flames, but instead quietly observed the distribution and energy flow of these pillars of fire. This was an important tactic he had learned from Rowan—to fully understand the opponent's capabilities and characteristics before taking action.

Molt didn't give Luo Feng much time to observe. His hands formed a seal again, "Fire Element Law - Fireworks Show, Act One: A Single Spark Can Start a Prairie Fire."

The pillars of flame suddenly erupted, transforming into countless tiny fireballs that attacked Luo Feng from all directions. These fireballs appeared random, but in reality, each one was aimed at Luo Feng's vital points.

Luo Feng finally took action. Instead of using his telekinesis to control the black-patterned blade, he formed hand seals, chanting, "Law of Metal - Golden Dust Shield."

Countless tiny metallic particles suddenly appeared in the air around Luo Feng. These particles quickly gathered and formed a thin metallic shield around his body. When the fireballs collided with the shield, most of them were deflected, with only a few larger fireballs leaving scorch marks on the shield.

“An interesting defensive method,” Molt commented, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes. “However, you should know that fire can melt metal.”

After speaking, he changed his hand gestures again, "Fire Element Law - Fireworks Show Act Two: The Dance of Melting Metal."

The fireballs that had been deflected suddenly changed direction, recombine, and formed several fire snakes. These fire snakes were even hotter, and their color changed from red to almost white flames. They twisted their bodies and lunged at Luo Feng again.

Luo Feng's golden dust shield was clearly struggling against the intense heat of the flames; its surface began to melt, revealing several small holes. But Luo Feng remained calm. He waited for the fire serpent to approach, and then, at the last moment, he waved his right hand, unleashing the powerful "Law of Metal - Golden Dust Meteor."

The metal particles that originally formed the shield suddenly burst outward, transforming into countless sharp metal fragments that collided head-on with the fire serpent. The metal fragments pierced through the fire serpent's body, destabilizing its energy structure, ultimately causing it to collapse and disintegrate.

Molt raised an eyebrow slightly, clearly surprised by Luo Feng's response. "A good counterattack. Your control over the Law of Metal has reached a remarkably refined level."

Luo Feng did not respond, but instead suddenly launched an attack. With a flick of his right hand, the black-patterned blade was drawn from its sheath. Under his mental control, it moved like a black lightning bolt, aiming straight for Molt's vitals.

Moult remained calm and unhurried, lightly tapping his right index finger, "Fire Element Law - Fireworks Show Act III: Barrier of Flames."

A barrier of high-temperature flames instantly formed in front of him, blocking the attack of the black-patterned blade. Where the flames touched the blade, the surface of the sword began to glow red, clearly affected by the intense heat.

Luo Feng quickly retracted his black-patterned blade to avoid further damage. Instead of using a direct attack again, he began to move around the arena, seemingly searching for a better angle to strike.

"Luo Feng is very clever," Luo Wen commented from the audience. "He knows that a head-on confrontation is unwise, so he chooses to maneuver and find his opponent's weaknesses."

Molt clearly noticed Luo Feng's intention as well. He formed a hand seal again, "Fire Law - Fireworks Show Act 4: Fire Dance Chasing Soul." Suddenly, all the pillars of flame in the arena disappeared, replaced by countless lines of fire. These lines of fire seemed to be alive, tracking Luo Feng's movements.

Luo Feng kept changing direction, trying to shake off the fire lines, but they seemed to be locked on, relentlessly pursuing him. As the fire lines drew closer, Luo Feng suddenly stopped, crossed his arms in front of his chest, and then abruptly opened them wide, shouting, "The Law of Metal - Vajra Body!"

Luo Feng's skin suddenly shimmered with a metallic sheen, making him look as if he were wearing a thin layer of metal armor. He had mastered this technique during his sparring with Thor, altering the molecular structure of his skin to give it metallic properties and greatly enhance his defense.

The fire struck Luo Feng, making a hissing sound, but apart from leaving a few scorch marks on his combat suit, it did not cause any substantial damage.

This scene drew gasps from the audience; clearly, no one had expected Luo Feng to use such a self-destructive defensive method.

"That kid's got guts," Thor grinned. "Turning himself into metal—that's what I taught him!"

Rowan shook his head, a satisfied smile on his face. "Not entirely. His understanding is deeper than we imagined. It's not just simple surface metallization, but a molecular-level restructuring that gives the skin metallic properties without losing the flexibility of flesh. This technique requires a profound understanding and precise control over the laws of metal."

Molt was also shocked by Luo Feng's move, and his expression became more serious than ever before. "Your mastery of the Law of Gold is higher than I imagined. It seems I need to be more serious."

Having said that, Molt's eyes sharpened, and his hands formed a complex hand seal, "Fire Element Law - Manifestation of True Flame."

The air around Molt began to distort, and the temperature rose sharply. His hands gradually became translucent, with bright flames flowing within them, as if his blood had become a symbol of fire. This was an advanced application of the fire elemental law—the materialization of the law, fusing the energy of the law with oneself to greatly enhance the exertion of power.

“The flames that follow are no ordinary flames,” Molt’s voice deepened and became powerful. “These are true flames that originate directly from the source of the laws; they can melt even metal instantly.”

Luo Feng knew that the real challenge had only just begun. He took a deep breath and began to mobilize his own Law energy. The energy of the Law of Metal flowed within him, causing his body to emit a faint golden light.

"Invoke the golden body," Luo Feng said softly, "First level, activate."

Fine metallic fragments suddenly appeared in the air around Luo Feng. These fragments, as if controlled by some unseen force, formed a swirling metallic storm around him. This was a new technique Luo Feng had developed during his training over the past few days, combining telekinesis with the Law of Metal to create a unique method of defense and attack.

Molt didn't give Luo Feng much time to prepare. He charged forward, his hands flashing through the air, shouting, "True Flame - Hand of Purgatory!"

Molt's hands transformed into two enormous fiery claws, reaching out to grab Luo Feng. These fiery claws were extremely hot, even distorting and warping the air itself.

Luo Feng did not back down. He controlled the surrounding metal storm to meet the fiery claw. The metal fragments met the flames, emitting a piercing "hissing" sound. Countless metal particles were instantly melted, but this also weakened the power of the fiery claw.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Luo Feng released his telekinetic power, controlling the black-patterned blade to attack Molt from the side. This time, his blade was covered with a special metallic coating, a high-melting-point alloy he created using the Law of Metal, capable of withstanding high temperatures for a short period.

Molt reacted extremely quickly, maintaining his Flame Claw attack while simultaneously unleashing a wall of fire to block the Black Pattern Blade's assault. But in that moment of distraction, Luo Feng suddenly intensified the Metal Storm, sending countless metal fragments raining down on Molt like a storm.

Even with Molt's lightning-fast reflexes, he couldn't completely evade this all-around attack. Several metal shards grazed his shoulders and arms, leaving shallow cuts.

"First Blood," Luo Feng said calmly, "it seems even True Flame isn't invincible."

Molt frowned slightly, clearly not expecting to get injured under these circumstances. But he quickly composed himself, a cold smile playing on his lips. "As expected of a player who made it to the fourth round, you certainly have some skill. However, the game has only just begun."

After saying that, Molt suddenly leaped high into the air, raising his hands above his head, shouting, "True Flame - Heavenly Fire Descends!"

A massive fireball formed in Molt's hand, over three meters in diameter, its temperature so high that even the arena's energy barrier began to fluctuate slightly. He hurled the fireball downwards, aiming directly at Luo Feng, who stood in the center.

The fireball fell incredibly fast, reaching Luo Feng's head in the blink of an eye. In that critical moment, Luo Feng didn't dodge, but instead raised his hands high, chanting, "Mind Power Golden Body - Golden Eye Focus!"

Luo Feng's eyes suddenly turned pure gold, with no distinction between pupils and whites. A golden beam shot out from his eyes, heading straight for the center of the fireball.

This is yet another innovative technique of Luo Feng's, which involves highly concentrating mental power and the energy of the Law of Metal to form an energy ray with extremely strong penetrating power. This beam of light appears small, but the energy it contains is exceptionally vast.

The golden beam collided with the fireball, producing a deafening explosion. The fireball's energy structure was disrupted; although it didn't completely dissipate, its power was greatly reduced, and it shattered into dozens of smaller fireballs that scattered in all directions.

Luo Feng quickly adjusted his posture, unleashing his full mental power to control the black-patterned blade, which spun rapidly in front of him, forming a defensive barrier that blocked most of the small fireballs. However, a few still managed to break through the defenses, striking his shoulders and legs and leaving several burns.

Pain shot through him, but Luo Feng remained calm. He knew that injuries were inevitable in this level of combat. The key was finding an opportunity to defeat his opponent without causing serious injury.

The first round of their exchange ended temporarily with both sustaining minor injuries. Molt landed back on the ground, maintaining a safe distance from Luo Feng, both adjusting their breathing and recovering their energy.

“You’re stronger than I expected,” Molt commented, a hint of seriousness in his voice. “Especially the way you combine telekinesis with the Law of Metal; it’s quite unique.”

Luo Feng nodded slightly, indicating that he accepted the assessment. "Your control over fire-elemental laws has also reached a very high level, especially that 'True Flame,' its power is astonishing."
