Chapter 92 The Fruit That Cannot Be Eaten
Caesar had a blade of grass stuck between his teeth, and he couldn't push it out with his tongue.

I was going to just ignore it, but the presence of that blade of grass is becoming increasingly noticeable!

First, it's uncomfortable when it gets stuck between your teeth. Every time you chew, you feel a sour and astringent sensation in the gap between your teeth. Most importantly, your taste buds are constantly experiencing that strange taste.

After hesitating for a while, Caesar decided to use his claws to dig the grass out, which led to the scene that Guo Mi and Fishbone witnessed.

Polar bears have long claws, but they are not that long compared to their snouts, and the joints that control their claws are not very flexible.

Caesar almost shoved the entire bear paw into his mouth when he tried to put it in!

After searching for a while, the wretched weed lay unharmed in his teeth. The impatient bear quickly gave up, his frustration growing. He slammed his paw down hard on the nut vine!
Guo Mi was still carefully observing whether Caesar was poisoned by the berries. When she saw that he seemed to be turning his head, she quickly looked away. She was a little flustered from peeking, so she lowered her head, bit into a berry, and swallowed it without chewing it much.

The two bear cubs looked at her in shock, their eyes filled with emotion.

"Guo Mi, you're so kind to us, thank you..."

The two little furballs rushed over, eagerly and affectionately rubbing their little heads against Guo Mi.

Guo Mi then belatedly realized that she had just eaten a fruit that she was unsure whether it was poisonous.

The giant furball paused for a moment, its eyes flickered slightly, and then it regained its composure.

Well, since we've already eaten it all, we might as well eat it all. Anyway, Caesar doesn't look like he'll be poisoned; at most, he'll just hallucinate.

So Guo Mi calmly bit off another different fruit from the berry vine, chewed it, and ate it.

The sweet taste made her squint, but she quickly lowered her head and ate other kinds of fruit.

Wait approximately the same amount of time based on when Caesar suddenly started acting strangely. If everything seems normal, the bear can start eating.

Guo Mi was a little bored sitting in the berry grove, so she casually stuffed a few more berries into her stomach, unknowingly eating quite a lot more.

The two little bears watched longingly from the side, swallowing mouthful after mouthful of saliva, before finally lying down by their mouths.

Guo Mi wanted to laugh, so she raised her paw and rubbed it against her mouth, saying leisurely:

"My saliva is flowing."

The two bear cubs' longing eyes froze instantly. They immediately raised their paws to wipe their mouths and looked at Guo Mi accusingly.

Guo Mi finally couldn't hold back and burst into laughter, tilting her head back:
"Hahahahahaha..."

Surprisingly, Fishbone was the first to take that step. Perhaps it had been spending too much time with Slok, as its gluttony had increased exponentially. It muttered to itself:
"I want to be a brave little bear too!"

Then, with his eyes closed, he started plucking the berries from the vine!
The little guy, seeing the fish bones moving, couldn't resist either. He glanced shyly at Guo Mi, then silently lowered his head and started eating voraciously.

Guo Mi calculated that the time was about right. She herself did not feel anything unusual, so she did not stop the two little bears.

But if the fruit wasn't poisonous, then what was Caesar doing just now...?
Her hesitant gaze drifted furtively towards Caesar, only to catch a glimpse of Caesar's resentful look.

Guo Mi subconsciously thought she was seeing things. She blinked and looked again. When she looked over, the male bear was no longer trying to put its paws into its mouth. It was lowering its head and eating the fruit on the ground again.

"I was really mistaken."

Guo Mi muttered something to herself, looked away, lowered her head, and began to eat the fruit.

But after eating for a short while, she felt a sense of unease, as if something was watching her!
Guo Mi paused, then suddenly turned around!

In the low berry grove not far away, only a male bear was engrossed in eating, seemingly oblivious to its surroundings. Guo Mi looked away in confusion, stood there for a moment, and only after confirming that she didn't feel like she was being secretly watched did she lower her head again, still somewhat doubtful.

After turning into a bear, it seems that at times I can really sense something watching me; this is probably the instinct of a wild animal.

However, it could also be her imagination, like right now.

But just as Guo Mi had dispelled her doubts, before she had even eaten a single fruit, that feeling of unease returned!

Guo Mi took a deep breath, pondered for a while, and then suddenly turned around!
A pure white male bear stands in a colorful berry grove, its ears twitching slightly, its long fur fluttering as if enjoying the breeze. Its eyes are closed, and its head is tilted back at a 45-degree angle, welcoming the radiant sunlight as if bathing in holy light!
Guo Mi was speechless and choked with emotion, turning her head away blankly.

If that bear hadn't been Caesar, she might have found it beautiful.

Caesar, who had just been pretending, immediately revealed his true colors as soon as he noticed Guo Mi turn her head, his bear eyes filled with resentment as he stared at the giant fur ball in the distance.

The blade of grass was still stuck in his teeth, continuing to emit a strange smell, while the round-faced bear who taught him to eat grass was only concerned with finding fruit to eat.

...not even a sliver of attention was given to him.

Caesar's resentment deepened.

The male bear is currently on the verge of losing its mind and has even ignored the facts, accusing Guo Mi of many unfounded crimes. Every fruit she eats only intensifies the male bear's resentment!

Guo Mi felt that intense resentment again, but she was too lazy to trace where it was coming from. She simply pretended not to know and ate with her head down.

These nuts were all sweet, but Guo Mi still preferred the ones she ate first.

It's sweet with a hint of sourness, and you can easily eat a lot without even realizing it.

She followed the direction of the berry vines as she pulled them, and before she knew it, she had gotten quite a bit closer to Caesar.

Just as she was about to eat another fruit, Caesar's voice suddenly came from above:
"You can't eat this."

Guo Mi looked up and found that Caesar was already standing in front of her, his brown eyes fixed on her with his head down, repeating:
"This fruit is not edible."

Being so close, Guo Mi wasn't mentally prepared and didn't know what to say to Caesar, so she could only look down at the fruit in front of her, following his words.

It is orange-yellow in color and looks exactly the same as the fruit next to it, with no difference.

Guo Mi lowered her head and asked hesitantly:
Why is this the only one that can't be eaten?

Caesar paused for a moment, then explained in a low voice:

"This fruit can only be eaten when it is just ripe. Although it tastes very good when it is fully ripe, it will cause a stomachache."

Guo Mi's round almond eyes widened. Upon closer inspection, this fruit was indeed a darker color than the other fruits next to it, and the flesh was beginning to shrivel, unlike the plump fruits next to it.

Realizing the reason for Fishbone's stomachache, Guo Mi turned around to call the two little bears to eat while keeping a close eye on them. When she turned her head, Caesar was still standing there, his brown eyes still fixed on her.

Guo Mi saw her own reflection in his eyes, and a strange feeling rose in her heart. Perhaps it was unease? Or maybe not.

Avoiding Caesar's gaze, he said in a low voice:
"Thank you."

She didn't look at Caesar. A moment later, she heard the sound of grass being trampled underfoot. Turning around, she could only see Caesar's silent figure walking out of the berry grove.
