Chapter 981 Unable to Get Drunk Even After a Thousand Cups!

Around 5 p.m., Banggeng arrived at Jia Dongming's office as usual. He saw Jia Dongming sitting at his desk reading a newspaper and asked with a smile, "Uncle! Are you off work yet?"

A dozen minutes later, the jeep stopped in front of the Commerce Bureau. Jia Dongming opened the passenger door and got out of the jeep, where he saw Li Huaide and an unfamiliar middle-aged man standing by the gate of the Commerce Bureau.

Hearing Li Huaide's account and learning of Jia Dongming's drinking prowess, Jiang Kun was utterly astonished. He looked at Jia Dongming with admiration and said, "Chief Jia! As they spoke, the three of them quickly arrived at the entrance of the Commerce Bureau's small canteen. Several middle-aged men waiting at the canteen entrance saw Jiang Kun and his group, and one of them immediately stepped forward and greeted Jiang Kun respectfully, saying, "Director Jiang! Let's toast Captain Jia and Factory Director Li with this first glass to thank them for taking time out of their busy schedules to visit our Bureau of Commerce."

Seeing Jia Dongming clink glasses with Jiang Kun and then down his drink in one gulp, Li Huaide smiled and said to Song Chenggong and the others, "Deputy Director Song! Let me tell you, our Captain Jia has a nickname: 'Unfazed by a Thousand Cups.' You'd better keep Captain Jia entertained tonight, so that Director Jiang's plan to purchase imported goods can be easily realized."

This was the first time Song Chenggong and the others had met Jia Dongming. When they heard Li Huaide's explanation, they instinctively assumed that Li Huaide wanted to use them to get Jia Dongming drunk. So they smiled and assured him, "Director Li! Don't worry, we guarantee we'll keep you and Captain Jia entertained tonight!"
