Chapter 5 Accident
Back in the room, Levi thought about what had just happened.

Today, he obviously offended both Duke Xillon and the dissolute knight Damon.

Nothing is wrong now, except that everyone was caught off guard by the old duke's sudden illness, so they didn't cause him any trouble.

There is no guarantee that there won't be retaliation by the time you react.

But Levi was not afraid. If he was afraid, he would not have said those words at the banquet.

The chaos in Cologne is now obvious.

The old duke is running out of time and has not appointed an heir, so everyone who has the right of inheritance is eyeing this position.

When the old duke falls completely, there will inevitably be a fight for the title.

By then, Cologne will become a meat grinder, and only Shengjia will stand out from it.

But none of this has anything to do with Levi, because he is going to run away!
Now that he has obtained the development order, there is no need for him to stay in this vortex. If he doesn't run away now, when will he run away?

"There shouldn't be anything missing."

After packing up his belongings, Levi went to the mirror to adjust his clothes.

The person in the mirror was no more than twenty years old, with black hair and brown eyes. He looked heroic and bright as a shooting star.

He was tall, well-proportioned, and in well-maintained leather armor held in a wide cowhide belt.

A pair of fine deerskin hunting boots on his feet and an exquisite long sword hanging at his waist together create a spirit of toughness and heroism.

"Not bad, worthy of being the alien world Fen Yan."

Levi was narcissistic for a while, then he pulled up his belt and strode out.

It's not advisable to stay here for long, the best option is to leave.

So many things happened just because he stayed for a meal. If Levi continued to stay, he was afraid that he would waste a lot of time in this vortex.

Although he was not afraid, he didn't want to waste time here.

But when I walked out of the room and looked at the corridors that extended in all directions, I couldn't help but fall into deep thought.

"It seems that you walked... to the right just now?"

Faced with three identical roads in front of him, Levi gritted his teeth, firmly believed in his intuition, and headed to the right...left.

……

At the door of the Duke's bedroom.

Only the Duke of Shillong's wife and daughters were left here. They were all anxious on their faces, but joy was hidden deep in their eyes.

For them, the death of Duke Xillon would lead to a reshuffle of the forces in Cologne. As long as they seize the opportunity, they might be able to soar to the sky.

Leia waited anxiously at the door, wanting to know how her grandfather was doing, but two of Duke Shillong's white-robed guards were guarding the door loyally, preventing anyone from taking a step forward.

Everyone was stopped outside, and only Grand Maester Panto was inside treating Xillon.

"Mom, will grandpa be okay?" Leia had to seek some comfort from her mother.

Leia's mother, Lady Onaya Martell, has striking burgundy hair that stands out among a group of blondes. This is the standard hair color of the Martell family in the North.

There was panic on her face, but she knew that she was her daughter's backbone.

He reached out and touched her head, whispering soothing words.

"Liya, your grandfather will be fine. Even if your grandfather dies... the fact that you are Colen's heir will not change."

In order to take care of her daughter's feelings, she didn't say anything too cruel.

She still felt extremely uneasy.

Duke Shillong fell ill too quickly, just when Liya was made the heir.

Even though Xillon was too ill to lift the sword, as long as he was still alive, he still held power firmly in his hands and was still the iron-blooded duke who had the final say. However, his increasingly irritable behavior due to his illness made him even more frightening.

Even if Leia, a woman, inherits the title, this absurd order can still be implemented forcefully.

But... at this critical moment, he... fell ill.

Onaya had to worry that this change would give some jackals an opportunity to pounce on her and bite her in order to fight for their interests.

Especially after taking a look at the blonde woman in front of her holding a boy of seven or eight years old, Onaya knew she had to do something, and she whispered to a sturdy middle-aged man wearing leather armor beside her.

"Knight Kevin, I need you to call up twenty castle guards to wait in the old castle and have them show up when I need them!"

"As you wish, Miss Onaya."

Kevin bowed slightly and left quietly without making a sound.

Onaya watched him disappear at the end of the corridor and breathed a sigh of relief.

Kevin was a knight she brought from her family. He had been her personal knight since she was a child and was one of the few people she could trust in Cologne.

The Old Castle is the closest location to here. No matter what happens, we can get here in time to control the situation.

"Martel's dog, watch out when walking!"

Suddenly, an impolite scolding came from the end of the corridor. Onaya sighed. The situation she least wanted to see had happened.

Damon rushed over anxiously and began to push through the crowded crowd. Although everyone looked dissatisfied, no one dared to conflict with the rogue knight.

"Lord Damon, please stop!"

When Damon wanted to rush in to see how his brother was doing, two white-robed guards guarding the door stopped him.

Damon was silent for a moment, but ultimately did not rush in and waited outside.

Time passed slowly in silence, and when Damon could no longer bear the waiting atmosphere, the door opened.

A white-haired old man walked out. His fat body propped up the loose white robe, and his plump face made him look very kind.

The atmosphere suddenly became tense, and everyone was afraid to hear from him the news that could change the situation in Cologne.

"Grand Scholar Panto..."

Onaya couldn't help but take a step forward, but unfortunately Panto just glanced at her and finally set his eyes on the blonde woman in the front row holding a boy.

"Miss Petunia, I think I need you to come in."

This made Penny overjoyed, and she quickly took her son inside, leaving everyone with different expressions waiting outside.

When she saw the Duke of Shillon lying on the bed, she asked worriedly:
"Grand Maester Panto, my father..."

Panto interrupted her and looked at her seriously.

"Miss Penny, I have been with Lord Sillon for thirty years. I have watched you grow up since you were a child, and I treat you like my own daughter."

"What I'm trying to say is that Lord Xillon won't make it through the night, and you need to prepare early."

Hearing this, tears welled up in Penny's eyes. Even though she hated Duke Shillon for not passing the title to her, he was still her only father after all.

"Thank you, Grand Maester Pento."

"That's not necessary. Although Lord Sillon intends to pass the title to Miss Leah, I have served the Iseli family for thirty years. I can't watch Colen fall into the hands of someone who has half the blood of the Martell family."

"Now the issue of the successor has not been left unsolved, you still have a chance."

Panto sighed.

"All I can do for you, Miss Penny, is to delay the time as much as possible. You need to do the rest by yourself."

"Thank you, Grand Maester Pento." Penny thanked again.

"These are insignificant." Panto bent slightly.

When Penny walked out of the room, everyone's eyes fell on her, but she ignored them and stood directly in front of Damon.

This time Panto did not stop them. Onaya just looked at Penny uneasily, then eagerly pulled Leia in first, and the people behind them hurriedly followed.

Penny and Damon were the only ones left in the corridor.

Looking at his niece, Damon was about to ask her why she was blocking him.

Penny raised her head, her eyes red, like a little deer looking for home.

"Uncle Damon I need your help."

"Without you, Kaa Iseili, your son would have no chance of inheriting the title."
