The Wizard's Secret Journey
Chapter 185 Rewards and Inquiries
Chapter 185 Rewards and Inquiries
"Are you planning to take a month-long vacation in two weeks?"
"In the newly renovated top-floor office of the Horsens School's Silver Ring office," Samuel exclaimed in surprise.
“Yes, it may be a bit of a hassle for you then.” Lynn nodded.
Currently, the school's office in the Silver Ring only has the two main wizards in charge. Although there isn't much work, if he wants to take a long leave, he would need to inform Samuel in advance, both out of courtesy and reason.
"It's alright. The base has been renovated now, and there are no apprentices from the school coming to exchange ideas for the time being, so there's not much work to do." Samuel waved his hand with a smile. "Besides, we both have things that require us to leave temporarily. If I need to go out in the future, I'll have to ask you for help."
"This is also why His Excellency Horsens appointed two chief wizards."
It is worth mentioning that, at present, the two of them are still working alone. When the disciples of the school come to exchange ideas next time, some people will be selected from them to assist in the management of the office.
Having made arrangements with Samuel and completed the inspection of the base, Lynn, seeing that he still had plenty of time, decided to visit Felicity.
Lynn had barely stepped out of the office when he received a summons from Horsens.
The plan to visit Felicity had to be put on hold for the time being, and Lynn went straight to Silver Ring Prison.
But as soon as he arrived at the prison gate, he clearly sensed that this summons was unusual.
A second-tier Silver Ring Academy wizard was waiting for him at the door!
"But Lynn Kent?"
"Exactly."
The second-tier Silver Ring Academy wizard, after displaying a token from Horsens, continued:
"Before you see Professor Silver Ring and Lord Horsens again, you will need to undergo some examinations. Please come with me."
'The Silver Ring Wizard?'
Lynn nodded slowly, his heart filled with even more doubt and uncertainty.
He had assumed this was just a routine summons from Horsens.
Unexpectedly, besides Horsens, the Silver Ring Wizard also wanted to see him.
'Could it be because of that Black Moon relic... the Purple Moon Magic Resistance Injection Tool?'
After much thought, the only place Lynn could think of that might have alarmed the true controller of Silver Ring Academy, the strongest wizard in the entire academy, was the Black Moon relic he had given to Horsens.
He reviewed all the information about the Black Moon relic and his own actions and explanations from back then.
Lynn handed over the Black Moon relics he had on him to Sia and Good Luck to take back, and then followed the Silver Ring Wizard into the Silver Ring Prison.
As Lynn passed through the familiar black gate, he saw the equally familiar silver-white walls.
The silvery-white walls were smooth all over, yet they could not cast a shadow. At the same time, under the influence of some kind of spatial magic, they were incredibly tall and could not be seen to end.
On previous visits, Lynn stopped here and had the opportunity to go deeper.
Lynn didn't feel lucky to have the opportunity to go deeper into the area.
He knew all too well that the more you knew in this world, the more trouble you would encounter.
Fortunately, Lynn had anticipated this trouble, and although the Silver Ring Wizard was an unexpected variable, he was not panicked.
As the second-tier wizard who was there to greet them arrived at the familiar waiting room next to the entrance, Lynn saw the wizard take out a strange-looking magical artifact and say slowly:
"Relax, don't have strong thoughts of resistance, or mobilize your mental energy to defend yourself, otherwise the test results will be inaccurate. In serious cases, you may be locked up in Silver Ring Prison."
"Excuse me, sir, is this test for contamination of the St. Michael's Ring?"
The second-tier wizard glanced at Lynn in surprise and nodded: "That's right... but to be precise, it should be 'magic' contamination."
Lynn nodded slowly, remaining silent, but taking another look at the sorcery tool in the second-tier wizard's hand. The tool was roughly a black metal sphere, but its appearance was extremely irregular, with some parts protruding and others sunken. At first glance, it seemed quite regular, but upon closer inspection, it appeared chaotic, leaving a deep impression.
The second-tier wizard held it and aimed it at Lynn. There wasn't much unusual happening; a faint glow flashed across the metal sphere, and he said:
"Okay, the inspection is over."
"Come with me, Master Silver Ring and Lord Horsens are still waiting for you."
Lynn carefully sensed it and only then did he realize that his will had produced a barely perceptible fluctuation during the test.
'...Putting everything else aside, at least the inspection of this witchcraft tool was extremely discreet.'
After following the second-tier wizard for a while, they arrived at a spot in the silver-white wall where a door suddenly opened.
After walking along the winding corridor behind the door for a long time, Lynn arrived directly at an empty reception room.
Throughout the entire journey, he walked in a closed corridor with no branching paths, never seeing the outside world at all... This was clearly the power of some kind of large-scale witchcraft.
Lynn was astonished, especially when he realized he couldn't tell whether the wall in front of him was real or an illusion.
After leading him there, the second-tier wizard turned and left, and the corridor they had come from disappeared.
Before Lynn could feel uneasy, Horsens, the Silver Ring Wizard, and several other powerful wizards suddenly appeared in front of him.
At a glance, each wizard appeared to be at least level 3, with the one next to the Silver Ring Wizard seemingly at level 4.
"Greetings, Your Excellencies." Lynn quickly raised his right hand and made a gesture of respect.
“Don’t be nervous, Lynn,” Horsens’ gentle voice came. “These wizards are members of the Magic Contamination Research Group. They summoned you here to ask you some more questions about the Purple Moon Pendant… the Black Moon Relic you gave me some time ago.”
Apart from Horsens, no other wizards spoke, tacitly agreeing that Horsens and Lynn would be the sole communicators.
"Yes, Professor Horsens," Lynn replied respectfully, thinking to himself, "It really is because of the Purple Moon Magic Resistance Injection Tool."
When Lynn chose to hand over the Purple Moon Magic Resistance Injection Tool, he had considered all possible consequences and made preparations.
So even though the current situation is larger than he imagined, he is not afraid.
Horsens was pleased with Lynn's composure in front of so many high-ranking wizards, and then said:
“Very good. After we finish asking the questions, we will reward you. This magical artifact you found by chance has been a great help to us.”
'A reward?'
Lynn was taken aback. He had prepared for all the worst-case scenarios, but he had never expected to receive any benefit from it. He quickly thanked him:
"Thank you, gentlemen."
Horsens nodded, accepting the answer on behalf of all the wizards, and then asked:
"My first question is, how did you initially determine that this witchcraft was related to demonic corruption?"
"I can't be sure, but the effect it produces is too similar to the pollution of the Saint-Mi ring, so I dared not ignore it and immediately reported it to you, teacher."
Horsens did not respond to Lynn's answer, but instead looked at the fourth-tier wizard next to the Silver Ring Wizard.
The wizard appeared to be a middle-aged man with white hair. His body flickered with light, and a faint golden light constantly emanated from him.
He frowned, looked at Lynn, slowly shook his head, and said calmly:
"No, I'm seeing the wrong kind of illusion."
In an instant, the reception room fell silent.
Horsens looked at Lynn and frowned as well.
