I am a fairy in Journey to the West

Within the Heavenly Sound Sacred Realm, in the Golden Lotus Dojo.

In the north, Amoghasiddhi Buddha sits high on a lotus throne, his body radiating brilliant light that illuminates all directions.

On both sides stood a group of bodhisattvas, each displaying a precious appearance, their eyes fixed on Nangong Wan.

Below the bodhisattvas were a group of Vajra guardians and Dharma protectors, all with fierce and stern expressions, looking down at Nangong Wan.

Nangong Wan walked on the lotus platform, each step heavy. When she arrived at the foot of the tall Buddha lotus platform, she immediately prostrated herself and said, "Nangong Wan pays respects to Amoghasiddhi Buddha."

Amoghasiddhi looked at Nangong Wan and asked, "Nangong Wan, why have you come here, and why did you cause such a disturbance at the mountain gate?"

Nangong Wan quickly kowtowed and apologized, then said to the Buddha Amoghavajra: "I have heard that the Buddha's power is boundless and compassionate. I, Nangong Wan, wish to ask the Buddha to have mercy and bestow his power so that I may be with my beloved Wei Junzi. If my wish is granted, I will sculpt a golden statue for the Buddha and recite scriptures and worship the Buddha every day, and practice the precepts and uphold the Dharma."

The Buddha Amoghavajra said: "If one wants to be with the one they love, how can one worship the Buddha, recite scriptures, practice precepts, and uphold the Dharma? In this mundane world, how can one have both Buddhism and love?"

Nangong Wan was stunned and unable to answer. Although the people of Beiju Luzhou were skilled in physical martial arts, they did not cultivate their minds, were not familiar with scriptures, and were not versed in the teachings of the Buddha. A single sentence from the Buddha left her speechless.

"Since you can't answer, go back." Amoghavajra raised his hand and waved it lightly.

The group of Vajra below also shouted sternly, "Go back! Go back!"

A bead of sweat appeared on Nangong Wan's fair forehead. She hurriedly replied, "People say that Buddhism is compassionate, concealing evil and promoting good. Although I am with my beloved in this world, doing good deeds is equivalent to worshipping the Buddha, cultivating virtuous speech is equivalent to reciting scriptures, maintaining righteous conduct is equivalent to upholding the precepts, and teaching others to do good is equivalent to upholding the Dharma. In this way, by worshipping the Buddha, reciting scriptures, cultivating precepts and upholding the Dharma, and being able to stay with my beloved, I can achieve both."

"Hahaha." Amoghavajra laughed immediately. After a moment, he looked at Nangong Wan and said, "You do have some quick wit. Being able to answer this question shows that you have some wisdom. Very well, this humble monk will give you some pointers."

Nangong Wan was overjoyed and quickly put her palms together in prayer, saying, "Thank you, Amoghavajra."

Amoghasiddhi said, "Don't rush to thank me. Your beloved is not a being from the Jambudvipa world, and I cannot break the heavenly rules by bringing him here directly."

Nangong Wan said, "Then I'll go find him!"

Amoghasiddhi asked, "Do you have any keepsakes left by him on you?"

Nangong Wan shook her head and said, "He never gave me a token."

Amoghasiddhi frowned, then suddenly asked, "Do you have anything he left behind on you that needs to be connected to him?"

Nangong Wan bit her lip and shook her head, saying, "No, not either."

Amoghasiddhi sighed and said, "This is difficult. Since there is no connection, how can a marriage be continued in two worlds?"

Nangong Wan felt as if her heart was being torn apart. With tears in her eyes, she bowed her head and said, "I beg the Buddha Amoghavajra to guide me through my confusion. I will be eternally grateful."

After pondering for a long time, Amoghavajra said, "There is a way, but it is extremely dangerous. If you are not careful, you will be doomed."

Nangong Wan quickly said, "Please, Buddha, give me your guidance."

The Buddha Amoghavajra said, “There is a treasure in the Northern Peak Divine Palace called the ‘Northern Star Crossing the World Boat’. If you can obtain this treasure from the Great Emperor of the Northern Peak, you can cross the world to find the one you love.”

Nangong Wan felt an overwhelming sense of hope and repeatedly kowtowed to the Buddha of Amoghavajra in gratitude, saying, "If I succeed in this journey, I will definitely sculpt a golden statue of the Buddha of Amoghavajra and worship him and recite scriptures every day with utmost devotion."

The Buddha Amoghavajra said, "I only hope that your wish will be fulfilled soon, and that you will do more good deeds in the future, which will be your way of repaying this poor monk."

With sincere respect, Nangong Wan bid farewell to Amoghavajra and departed. Then she changed direction and headed straight for Mount Heng in the north.

After more than two months of trekking, Nangong Wan finally arrived at the foot of Hengshan Mountain.

When she looked up at the majestic Hengshan Mountain, Nangong Wan felt her mood brighten and her mind clear. "Although the Northern Mountain Divine Palace has been moved here for a long time, I have never paid attention to it before. Today, I realize that the mountains and rivers are indeed magnificent."

Thinking of this, Nangong Wan felt a little melancholy again, "If only I could have come here with Lord Wei sooner."

Upon thinking of Wei Junzi, Nangong Wan remembered the purpose of her trip. So she stopped lingering over the beautiful scenery and headed up Hengshan Mountain.

When she climbed Mount Heng and arrived at the gate of the Northern Sacred Palace, she was immediately stopped by two divine generals.

"This is the location of the Northern Peak Heavenly Palace. Passersby, please stop."

After being stopped by the two divine generals, Nangong Wan, having learned from her previous experience, immediately bowed and said, "Reporting to the two divine generals, I am Nangong Wan, the former chieftain of the Nangong tribe. I have come here with important matters to discuss with the Great Emperor of Beiyue. I hope you two divine generals will inform me." Upon hearing this, the two divine generals' expressions slightly hardened. The former chieftain of the Nangong tribe? They knew the importance of the chieftain of a tribe in Beiju Luzhou.

Even if the former clan leader no longer holds great power in the clan, his personal strength is still formidable.

Thinking of this, the two generals dared not be negligent. If another tribe came to offer sacrifices at Hengshan, wouldn't they be making a big mistake if they didn't inform them?

Nangong Wan was surprised that she was persuaded so easily. After realizing what had happened, she quickly bowed and said, "Thank you, Divine General."

Soon after, the divine general returned and said to Nangong Wan, "His Majesty summons you to an audience."

No sooner had the words been spoken than a third divine general flew before him and said to Nangong Wan, "His Majesty has decreed that Nangong Wan, the former clan chief of the Nangong tribe, be summoned to the Antian Palace for an audience."

After saying that, the divine general said to Nangong Wan, "Please come with me."

Nangong Wan hurriedly followed the divine general into the mountain gate, and then into the Northern Mountain Divine Palace, arriving outside the An Tian Hall.

After waiting outside the An Tian Hall for a short time, Nangong Wan received a summons from the Great Emperor of the Northern Mountain and entered the An Tian Hall for an audience.

The Heavenly Emperor is different from the Buddha; the Buddha emphasizes his dignified appearance, while the Heavenly Emperor emphasizes his majesty.

As soon as Nangong Wan entered the An Tian Palace, she felt an incomparably powerful divine might that made it hard for her to breathe.

But she remained calm and walked steadily to the center of the hall. Then she bowed to the majestic and tall figure above and said, "Nangong Wan, the former clan chief of the Nangong tribe, pays respects to His Majesty the Great Emperor of the Northern Mountain An Tian Xuan Sheng."

The Great Emperor of the Northern Peak spoke, saying, "Rise."

"Thank you, Your Majesty." Nangong Wan bowed and rose.

Then the Great Emperor of the Northern Peak said, "Both the Northern Wilderness Tribe and the Southern Palace Tribe have been unified by the Han Kingdom, and their chieftains have all been granted the title of king. What are you doing here?"

Nangong Wan quickly bowed and said, "Your Majesty, please allow me to speak. I have come here to ask you something."

The Great Emperor of the Northern Peak asked, "What do you seek?"

Nangong Wan said, "Your Majesty is merciful. I beg Your Majesty to have mercy and lend me the 'Northern Star Crossing the Boundary Boat' so that I may cross the Boundary Heaven to reunite with my beloved."

The Great Emperor of Beiyue frowned and asked, "How did you know about the Beichen Crossing Ship?"

Nangong Wan said, "Your Majesty, I only learned this after receiving guidance from the Buddha Amoghasiddhi of the North."

The Great Emperor of the Northern Peak frowned in relief, nodded slightly, and said, "I see. You are fortunate to have received guidance from the Buddha Amoghavajra. However, I must disappoint you, I cannot lend you the Northern Star Crossing Boat."

Nangong Wan panicked and repeatedly kowtowed, saying, "Your Majesty, please have mercy!"

The Great Emperor of the Northern Peak said, "It's no use kowtowing. I really can't lend you the Northern Star Crossing Boat because it can't leave its current location."

Nangong Wan asked with a puzzled look, "Why? Please enlighten me, Your Majesty."

The Great Emperor of the Northern Peak said, "The Northern Star Crossing Boat arrived in the Northern Continent long ago when the Great Emperor Zhenwu was sweeping away the demons. At that time, the Great Emperor Zhenwu borrowed this treasure from me to suppress the 'Demon Lord Taichen'. The Demon Lord Taichen could not be killed by any supernatural power, magic, or magic weapon, so the 'Northern Star Crossing Boat' could only be used to suppress him."

“Currently, the Demon Lord Taichen is still suppressed under Kongdang Mountain by the ‘Beichen Crossing the World Boat,’ so I cannot lend the Beichen Crossing the World Boat to you. Once the Beichen Crossing the World Boat leaves the seal of Kongdang Mountain, the Demon Lord Taichen will immediately break free, and at that time, the Northern Continent will be plunged into chaos.”

Finally, the Great Emperor of the Northern Mountain looked at Nangong Wan and said, "I cannot bear this responsibility, and you are even less capable of bearing it."

Having said that, the Great Emperor of the Northern Peak could only say, "If you wish to meet your beloved, you can find another way, or seek guidance from the Buddha."

Finally, the Great Emperor of the Northern Mountain waved his wide sleeves and said, "Go."

Nangong Wan wanted to plead again, but Zhao Chongguo, the Minister of the Divine Palace, stepped forward and said, "Miss, His Majesty has made it very clear that this matter is of great importance, and the Beichen Ferry Boat cannot be lent to you. This audience is now over, please proceed."

Nangong Wan glanced at Zhao Chongguo, then looked up at the Great Emperor of the Northern Mountain above. In the end, she could only stand up reluctantly, then paid her respects to the Great Emperor of the Northern Mountain and turned to leave the An Tian Hall.

After lingering outside the An Tian Palace for a while, Nangong Wan turned and left, somewhat dejected. The hope she had finally glimpsed had been shattered once more. (End of Chapter)
