I am a fairy in Journey to the West

Chapter 347 It’s rude to come and not return.

In Dong'ou Temple, although Zen Master Jin Guang no longer preaches, he is still helping visitors to resolve their doubts and eliminate their disasters.

The so-called fate guest is a guest with fate. So what does it mean to have fate?
"Madam Xu respectfully presents Dongou Temple with five thousand taels of gold."

Accompanied by the shouts of the temple elders, the abbot of Dongou Temple, Fajun, welcomed the 87-year-old Madam Xu into the main hall with a smile on his face.

Zen Master Jin Guang sat cross-legged in the main hall, watching two novice monks supporting Madam Xu as she walked up to him. Zen Master Jin Guang said, "Madam, you are old, so you don't have to kneel down. You can just sit down."

"Thank you, Master." Mrs. Xu sat down with the help of the novice monk.

Then Madam Xu put her hands together and said, "Master, I have three questions for you. I hope you can answer them."

"Please speak." said Zen Master Jin Guang.

Madam Xu said, "The first thing I want to ask is, how many more years can I serve the Buddha?"

When Zen Master Jin Guang heard this, he glanced at Madam Xu's forehead and replied, "Three years."

Madam Xu's expression darkened, and her back instantly hunched over. She then asked, "Second question, I want to serve the Buddha for a hundred years in this life. Can I do so?"

Zen Master Jin Guang smiled and said, "Fate is predetermined and cannot be changed."

Madam Xu was not satisfied with what she heard, and asked, "If I donate 70% of the gold and silver in my house to do good deeds, can it help me prolong my life?"

Zen Master Jin Guang asked in return: "Don't you consider future generations?"

Madam Xu said, "Future generations will have their own blessings."

Zen Master Jin Guang said: "The grace of a gentleman is cut off after five generations. Your family has enjoyed wealth and honor for six generations. You should not ask for more."

Madam Xu said again: "I have worshipped Buddha all my life, can't I even fulfill this little request?"

Zen Master Jin Guang glanced at Madam Xu, and after a moment's silence, he said, "If you are willing to exchange all the merits you have accumulated throughout your life for ten years of life, of course you can."

Madam Xu said cheerfully, "Sure. Isn't it for these things that I have accumulated merits throughout my life?"

Zen Master Jin Guang did not respond to Madam Xu's words. He just raised his hand and pointed at her. Madam Xu immediately felt that her mind was no longer clear, as if something important in her body had left her.

At the same time, in the underworld, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva collected Madam Xu's lifelong merits into the 'Wheel of Merit' and added ten years to her lifespan.

Inside the Dong'ou Temple, he couldn't help but sigh as he watched Madam Xu leave with the help of the novice monk.

The merits accumulated throughout your life only add ten years to your life, but after these merits are cleared, can you still keep your blessings?
I’m afraid that the Erli family will be destroyed in this life, without having to wait until the seventh life.

But Master Jin Guang had no other choice. He could only do what he wanted, since the person had said, "I have worshipped Buddha all my life, and you cannot even do this."

After that, Zen Master Jin Guang received many more guests. The requests made by these people were more bizarre than the last, which made Zen Master Jin Guang quite helpless.

Finally, two days later, all the powerful "friends" in the entire Bufang country had been received. An elder came to report that there were only two more friends left, and they were a couple.

But when the elder presented the "Dharma of Fate" of these two guests, Zen Master Jin Guang's eyes narrowed slightly, because it turned out to be a hundred purple coins.

Zen Master Jin Guang said to the elder, "Return the purple money."

The elder was stunned for a moment and said, "That person."

"Bring them to the main hall to see me." said Master Jin Guang.

The elder responded, then turned and left with the tray. Not long after, the elder walked into the main hall with a couple.

Sun Youlin was a little nervous, but Ao Yan clasped her hands together as soon as she entered the hall, looking extremely pious.

When the two men knelt on the cushion in front of the Buddha statue, Master Jin Guang asked, "What is your purpose?"

Ao Yan raised her head and said, "Master, we two are here to pray for a long-lasting marriage between us, forever and ever, without leaving each other and without abandoning each other."

Zen Master Jin Guang nodded slightly and said to the elder beside him, "Take this male donor to the Wufang Hall to burn incense first."

"Yes." The elder responded, then stepped forward and said to Sun Youlin, "Donor, please follow me to the Wufang Hall to burn incense."

Sun Youlin was stunned for a moment when he heard this, and turned to look at Ao Yan.

Ao Yan smiled slightly and said, "Go ahead, I'll wait for you here."

After hearing this, Sun Youlin nodded, stood up, and left with the elder.

As soon as Sun Youlin left, Zen Master Jin Guang looked at Ao Yan and said, "You are a real dragon from the East China Sea, and he is a mortal from the secular world. There is a difference between immortals and mortals, so how can you fall in love with him? And now you dare to come to the temple to pray for blessings. If it weren't for your sincerity, I would have to take you in today and hand you over to the Dragon Palace of the East China Sea for disposal."

Seeing Master Jin Guang's sudden change of expression, Ao Yan's face turned pale, and after a moment, he hurriedly asked, "Master, why do you say that?"

Zen Master Jin Guang said, "The immortals have their own immortal path, and the mortals have their own mortal realm. How can you break the boundary? I advise you to leave him as soon as possible, practice well in the future, and achieve the great way as soon as possible. Otherwise, the laws of heaven are ruthless, and I will not be merciful either."

Ao Yan retorted: "Although I am a real dragon, I was born with him in the same world and we are both ordinary people. Why can't we be married?"

Zen Master Jin Guang said: "When immortals and mortals come together, the order of the human world will be disrupted. This is the law of heaven. Don't you understand?"

Ao Yan said: "I think the rules of heaven are not necessarily right. For example, there is a difference between immortals and mortals, so this law of heaven is unreasonable."

But before Ao Yan could finish, Zen Master Jin Guang interrupted her: "I don't want to discuss with you whether the Heavenly Law is reasonable. If you are still stubborn and insist on falling in love with him, then you will be forbidden by the Heavenly Law."

Ao Yan snorted coldly, and stopped kneeling. She stood up and bowed to the Buddha statue, then said to Master Jin Guang, "I won't pray for this blessing anymore."

After saying that, Ao Yan turned around and left the Main Hall, heading towards the Wufang Hall.

When they arrived at the Wufang Hall, Sun Youlin had just finished burning incense when Ao Yan walked up to him and pulled him away from Dongou Temple without saying a word.

The elder of Dong'ou Temple returned to the main hall with a puzzled look on his face and reported to Master Jin Guang. Master Jin Guang said nothing, but asked the elder to call the abbot Fa Jun over.

Not long after, the abbot Fajun came to the main hall, put his hands together and asked, "Master, what do you want me to do?"

Zen Master Jin Guang said, "Go and get ready. The king is coming soon."

Upon hearing this, Fajun's face turned serious and he immediately bowed and said, "Yes." Soon Fajun went down to make arrangements for welcoming the King of Bufang. Just when he had finished the arrangements, someone from the palace sent a message saying that the king would soon bring civil and military officials to Dong'ou Temple to ask questions of Zen Master Jin Guang.

This time, the king of Bufang came to Dong'ou Temple because of the case of Xiao Ziqi murdering his wife.

As a country where all the people believe in Buddhism, this case is no longer something that the king's court can handle, because no matter how they deal with it, they will definitely lose the support of half of the people in the end, and may even cause domestic unrest.

After careful consideration by the king and his ministers, they decided that the case should be decided by Zen Master Jin Guang.

The king then issued an edict to the entire country, handing over the final decision on the case to Zen Master Jin Guang.

Of course, this matter itself was a big trouble, so after the king arrived at Dong'ou Temple, he first discussed it with Master Jin Guang and Master Fajun.

The king promised that if Master Jin Guang could properly solve the case, the Bufang Kingdom would give him the title of "Great Dharma Master of Protecting the Country".

But Zen Master Jin Guang gave this honorable title to Abbot Fajun. The king was also a smart man, and he immediately promised that every abbot of Dong'ou Temple in the future would inherit the honorable title of "Great Master of Protecting the Country".

Zen Master Jin Guang readily agreed. So ten days after Xiao Ziqi murdered his wife, the king personally tried Xiao Ziqi outside the palace and allowed all the people in Baoyan City to watch.

So on this day, after the king tried Xiao Ziqi and the officials convicted Xiao Ziqi of murdering his wife on the Buddha Bathing Festival, Master Jin Guang appeared and made a vow in front of the king and everyone: Xiao Ziqi broke the precepts and killed his wife on the Buddha Bathing Festival, which was disrespectful to the Buddha, but Xiao Ziqi had his reasons for killing his wife, although his situation was pitiful. But killing someone on the Buddha Bathing Festival was a blasphemy and disrespect to the Buddha, and even he did not dare to forgive his crime. Therefore, he was willing to use his own merits from ten lifetimes to wash away Xiao Ziqi's sins and seek the Buddha's mercy.

After Zen Master Jin Guang made the wish, a golden light immediately flew out of his body and landed on Xiao Ziqi in front of everyone.

Zen Master Jin Guang sat down on the ground, and in a moment a fire rose from his body. In the eyes of the king, queen, and the subjects of Bufang, he was burned to ashes, leaving only a relic.

The king stood up in horror. He did not expect the final result to be like this. Xiao Ziqi was already in tears at this time. He knelt on the ground and kowtowed to the relics of Master Jin Guang.

At the same time, all the subjects of the Bufang Kingdom present knelt down and worshiped the place where Master Jin Guang sat in meditation. At the same time, the king, the queen, princes and princesses also walked down the palace and came to the relics of Master Jin Guang to pay homage.

Finally, the king announced on the spot the release of Xiao Ziqi and pardoned him, and at the same time gave Master Jin Guang the title of "Great Master of Eternal Compassion".

Afterwards, the abbot of Dongou Temple, with a sad face, brought the monks of Dongou Temple to welcome the relics of Zen Master Jinguang back to the temple.

The King of Bufang also fulfilled his promise and announced on the spot that Dongou Temple was a royal temple and appointed the abbot Fajun as the Great Dharma Master of the Nation.

Thus, the case of Xiao Ziqi, which almost affected the national politics of the Bufang State, came to an end. After the incident, the Bufang State immediately discussed with Fa Jun and revised the laws and regulations in the national law regarding the Buddha's Bathing Festival and all Buddhist holy festivals to avoid the same thing from happening again in the future.

But after this incident, the deeds of Zen Master Jin Guang spread directly beyond the country of Bufang and had a profound impact on several neighboring countries.

At the same time, in the Holy Land of Miaoxi, Vairocana Tathagata immediately sent Bodhisattvas and disciples to the lower world to preach the Dharma. For a time, Buddhism flourished in the Dongsheng Shenzhou and even overshadowed the Xuanjiao.

One month later, the capital of Daliang State.

Zhuang Yan looked at the Nanhua Taoist priest who was carrying the guise of "The Immortal Pointing the Way" beside him, and the city streets full of Buddhist elements in front of him, and couldn't help but smile and said, "Fellow Taoist, you have done something wrong this time and helped Buddhism instead."

Taoist Nanhua smiled and said, "As expected of a Bodhisattva, he resolutely gave up ten lifetimes of practice to untie this knot. Even if he had to practice for ten more lifetimes, he would still spread the Dharma. Such magnanimity is worthy of the result of the prosperity of Buddhism today."

Zhuang Yan nodded and said, "If this hadn't happened, he might have been able to return to the status of a Bodhisattva after practicing for a few hundred more lifetimes. Now he has to practice for ten more lifetimes. Most people don't have the courage to do this."

Taoist Nanhua said: "Because of this, this Bodhisattva Baotanhua will definitely be a pillar of Buddhism in the future."

At this point, Taoist Nanhua smiled and asked Zhuang Yan, "Where is Zhuang Siming going this time?"

Zhuang Yan asked in surprise: "Why are you asking this?"

Taoist Nanhua laughed and said, "With more friends, the road is easier to travel. How about you and I travel together?"

Zhuang Yan smiled and said, "Traveling with me will bring a lot of trouble. Are you sure you want to come with me?"

Taoist Nanhua laughed loudly and said, "I am not afraid of trouble. I only cause trouble for others. I just don't know if you are afraid of trouble, Siming?"

Zhuang Yan smiled slightly and said, "I'm not afraid of trouble either."

Taoist Nanhua laughed and said, "Okay, okay, no wonder we both have the surname Zhuang. So you're waiting here. Come on, I'll pay for today's drinks."

Zhuang Yan smiled and said, "Okay."

After eating and drinking their fill, the two found a dilapidated temple outside the city to take shelter. In the middle of the night, a cold wind suddenly blew into the temple, and then the statue covered with spider webs above the main hall of the dilapidated temple suddenly fell down.

Accompanied by a loud 'boom', followed by a scream of 'ouch' that resounded throughout the ruined temple.

Zhuang Yan opened his eyes and stood up, only to see that Taoist Nanhua was pinned down by a statue of Bodhisattva. He was holding up the statue with his hands and kicking hard with his legs.

I saw Buddha's light flickering above the statue, pressing down on Taoist Nanhua like a mountain.

At this time, the Nanhua Taoist below was struggling to get free and hurriedly shouted: "Si Ming, Siming, please save me quickly."

Zhuang Yan smiled, this was obviously the revenge of Buddhism, so he walked forward and pointed at the statue. In an instant, a fairy light flashed, and the statue that was suppressing Taoist Nanhua flew up and returned to the altar in an instant.

At this time, Taoist Nanhua sat up suddenly, covered his cheeks with his hands, and kept saying "ouch". Then he turned his head to look at the statue on the altar.

It was a statue of a Bodhisattva. The Bodhisattva was dressed in white and wore a golden blue crown on his head. He held a lotus flower in his left hand and stood on a lotus platform with his right hand pointing downwards.

"Great Strength?" Taoist Nanhua rubbed his blue and red cheeks and looked at the Bodhisattva statue.

At this time, Zhuang Yan, who was standing by, suddenly looked at Taoist Nanhua's face and said in surprise, "Daoyou, your nose..."

Nanhua Taoist was stunned, then hurriedly touched his nose, immediately became furious, stood up and pointed at the statue of Bodhisattva Mahasthamaprapta and cursed: "You little Mahasthamaprapta, how dare you humiliate me like this."

After saying that, he raised his hand and conjured up an axe and chopped at the statue. Zhuang Yan quickly stepped forward to hold the Taoist Nanhua and persuaded him, "Forget it, forget it. Didn't you just scheme against the Bodhisattva? Compared with the Bodhisattva's ten lifetimes of practice, your bull nose is nothing."

Yes, the Bodhisattva Mahasthamaprapta cast a curse on the Taoist Nanhua, turning his nose into a huge cow's nose.

At this time, above the heaven, the four Bodhisattvas Manjusri, Samantabhadra, Mahasthamaprapta and Cundi looked at the angry Nanhua Taoist in the ruined temple below and burst into laughter.

Then Manjusri Bodhisattva pointed at the Nanhua Taoist below and said, "This is called coming without returning the favor is impolite."

Bodhisattva Mahasthamaprapta also smiled and said, "After all, the great and holy teacher said it clearly." (End of this chapter)
