Chapter 143 Don't Be Greedy and Everything Will Be Peaceful

As the more than 800 robes all disappeared on the golden man, the golden man let out a loud laugh, then his body quickly shrank and finally disappeared without a trace.

The moment the golden man disappeared, the sky over Guanyin Temple became completely bright.

Upon seeing this, Sun Wukong quickly did a somersault and this time flew out of the Guanyin Temple without any hindrance.

After a while, Sun Wukong flew back and shouted, "It's gone, it's gone, the magic has been broken."

Hearing Sun Wukong's words, the monks present cheered, but at this moment, Xiao Bailong suddenly pointed in the direction of the backyard and said, "Big Brother, look, there's a fire in the backyard."

Upon hearing this, everyone looked towards the backyard and saw a raging fire that was still spreading.

"It's bad, old dean." The dean shouted, and then hurriedly said, "Quick, go put out the fire."

A group of monks rushed to the backyard to put out the fire, but they had been living on a diet of thin porridge every day for the past three days, so where would they get the strength to do it?

When Tang Seng saw this, he quickly said, "Wukong, Wubai, go put out the fire."

Sun Wukong said to the little white dragon: "Brother, aren't you a dragon? Please send some rain to put out the fire."

Xiao Bailong said: "Brother, I am a fire dragon."

But soon the little white dragon said, "If there is a body of water nearby, there must be a dragon god. I will ask the dragon god to send rain to put out the fire."

Tang Seng heard this and said, "If that's the case, I'll go and come back quickly."

Xiao Bailong bowed and said, "Yes, Master."

As the little white dragon left, the fire had spread. Sun Wukong hurriedly said to Tang Seng, "Master, let's go wait outside the Zen temple. Be careful that the fire doesn't burn you."

When Tang Seng heard this, he was suddenly shocked and said, "Oh no, Wukong, the horses are still in the stable, and the luggage is in the backyard."

Hearing this, Sun Wukong also hurriedly said: "Master, please go outside the Zen temple first. I will go to rescue the horses and get the luggage."

"Okay, go ahead." Tang Seng said.

Sun Wukong leaped up into the sky, first went to the meditation room to move the luggage out, and then found the stable.

At this time, the fire had spread to the stable. The Purple Dragon Horse was tied there, struggling and neighing miserably. When Sun Wukong looked more closely, he saw that the Purple Dragon Horse's tail had been set on fire.

Sun Wukong hurried forward to untie the rope, and the purple dragon horse immediately jumped out of the stable, then ran out of the stable and started to run wild.

Upon seeing this, Sun Wukong immediately raised his hand and conjured up a horsewhip. He stepped forward and grabbed the reins, then held it tightly with one hand and raised the whip with his right hand to hit the horse.

With the loud sound of whipping, the purple dragon horse finally dared not to act wild anymore and was completely subdued by Sun Wukong. It stood there with its head down.

Only then did Sun Wukong cast a spell to put out the fire on the purple dragon horse's tail, but its beautiful purple tail had been burned black.

"I came to save you, but you acted wild. I think you deserve a beating." Sun Wukong said to the purple dragon horse, then led the purple dragon horse out of the Guanyin Temple.

Just when Sun Wukong was rescuing the purple dragon horse, he did not notice a gust of black wind flying into the backyard of Guanyin Temple.

Not long after, the black wind flew out from the backyard again and disappeared into the Black Wind Mountain just south of Guanyin Temple.

While waiting for Sun Wukong to lead the purple dragon horse outside the Guanyin Temple, dark clouds floated in the sky and heavy rain began to fall after a while.

As the rain fell, the fire was finally extinguished. Soon after, the rain stopped, the dark clouds dispersed, and the little white dragon came down and said to Tang Seng and Sun Wukong: "Master, big brother, fortunately there is a water dragon king here. I asked him to send rain to extinguish the fire."

"Good, good, good." Tang Seng nodded and said with a smile: "It's good if it's destroyed."

The next moment, there were bursts of crying in the Guanyin Temple. Tang Seng looked at Sun Wukong and Xiao Bailong in confusion, and then said, "Wukong, come with me to take a look."

"Yes." Sun Wukong responded.

When Tang Seng arrived at the backyard, he saw all the monks kneeling on the ground crying, with a charred corpse lying among them.

Tang Seng had a bad feeling in his heart, and at this time the abbot turned around and said, "Master Tang, the old abbot...he...he."

Upon seeing this, Tang Seng quickly put his hands together and said, "Amitabha."

When Sun Wukong saw this, his eyes turned and he went towards the meditation room that had been burned into ruins.

Black Wind Mountain, Black Wind Cave.

Although this is a cave, it is kept clean and tidy, simple and elegant, like an immortal cave.

The master of this cave was the black bear demon who had just visited Guanyin Temple.

The black bear demon was a good friend of Elder Jin Chi. He loved Buddhism and often preached and meditated with Elder Jin Chi.

This time, he saw the Guanyin Temple on fire in the mountains, so he went down the mountain to put out the fire. However, when he entered the meditation room, he found that Elder Jinchi had already been burned to death. He also saw something golden and shiny in his arms. When he opened it, he found that it was a rare Buddhist treasure.

So he gave up trying to put out the fire and just took the brocade robe away.

Back in the cave, the Black Bear Demon looked at the colorful cassock in his hand. The more he looked at it, the more he liked it. He sighed and said, "I never thought that Elder Jin Chi had such a treasure."

"It's a pity that he had a bad fate and died like this." The Black Bear Demon still felt a little sad about the death of Elder Jin Chi. After all, they had been friends for so many years.

"Well, since my old friend is dead, let me keep this robe for you." The black bear demon said, and put the robe on himself.

Then he called the demons in the cave to watch. When the demons saw the black bear demon, they saw that he was wearing a gorgeous cassock and had a solemn appearance. They all knelt down and shouted loudly, "The Bodhisattva has come down to earth."

When the black bear demon heard this, he laughed out loud. However, at this moment, a breeze suddenly flew into the cave, and the black bear demon's robes suddenly flew up.

The black bear demon was startled and tried to grab the cassock hastily, but he couldn't hold on to the cassock and it soon slipped out of his hands and flew out of the Black Wind Cave.

The black bear demon called on the little demon to grab the cassock and hurriedly chased after him.

After the cassock flew out of the Black Wind Cave, it flew directly to the top of the mountain and hung there, emitting five-colored light in the night.

"Quick, take back the robe." The black bear demon flew to the top of the mountain and reached out to grab the robe.

The black bear demon grabbed the cassock and quickly put it away, but at this moment a loud shout came from the sky, "Hey, you clothes thief, give me back the cassock."

The black bear demon looked up and saw a monk with a hairy face and a thunder god's mouth flying towards him with an iron rod in his hand.

The black bear demon's face changed, and he asked back, "Where did you come from, you monster? You said I stole the cassock, what evidence do you have?"

Sun Wukong laughed and said, "How dare you call me a monster, you demon? Do you know your grandfather's name?"

The black bear asked, "What's your name?"

Sun Wukong sneered and raised his head and said, "I am the Great Sage Equaling Heaven who caused havoc in the Heavenly Palace five hundred years ago!"

After hearing this, the black bear demon burst into laughter and said, "I was wondering who it was. It turns out to be the Bi Ma Wen who caused trouble in the Heavenly Palace." Sun Wukong was furious, "Monster! Stop talking. Give me back my cassock." After saying that, he raised his stick and hit him.

The black bear demon put the cassock into his arms, without any fear, he went forward to fight with his bare hands.

Sun Wukong simply swept his golden cudgel, and with a bang, the black bear demon was knocked down. The black bear demon fell from the top of the mountain to the entrance of the cave, raising a cloud of dust.

Sun Wukong flew up and hit the black bear with his stick. The black bear quickly dodged, then rubbed his back and stood up and said, "Good Bi Ma Wen, you are quite capable, but you have an iron stick and I have bare hands, just wait."

After saying that, the black bear demon turned around and ran into the cave. Sun Wukong quickly chased after him, and the little demons in the cave hurried forward to resist him.

Sun Wukong just blew a breath, and all the little demons were blown away and fell all over the mountain.

Soon, the black bear demon came out holding a black tasseled spear, "Bimawen, look at the spear!"

"Come on." Sun Wukong shouted, then raised his golden cudgel and attacked.

For a moment, there was the sound of weapons colliding, fire splashed, and the Fengjuanyun.

The two fought back and forth from outside the cave to the top of the mountain, and from the top of the mountain to the bottom of the mountain, for more than two hundred rounds. Finally, the black bear demon could not hold on any longer. His hands and muscles became weak and numb. He raised his gun and made a fake stab, then turned and ran away.

Seeing this, Sun Wukong immediately raised his hand and shouted, "Stop."

The black bear demon was pinned in mid-air with a clang. Sun Wukong laughed and said, "Take this blow from your grandpa."

After saying that, the golden cudgel in Sun Wukong's hand instantly grew longer, and he stabbed the black bear demon in the lower back.

The black bear demon rolled down the hillside with a clang. At this time, the black bear demon broke through the immobilization spell, lay on the ground, covered his lower back with his hands and cursed: "You are such a despicable Bi Ma Wen, I am tired today and I will not fight with you."

After saying this, the Black Bear Demon raised a black wind and flew back into the cave. Sun Wukong hurriedly chased after him, but found that the cave door was closed, so he raised his stick and went forward to attack.

Sun Wukong swung his stick and attacked for a long time, but found that the stone gate at the entrance of the cave was integrated with the Black Wind Mountain, and he could not break in after attacking for a long time.

Sun Wukong challenged the black bear demon outside, but the black bear demon did not show up after calling for a long time.

Finally, Sun Wukong had no choice but to say, "Okay, okay, you monster, today I'll let you see what Grandpa Sun can do!"

After saying that, Sun Wukong flew to the top of the cloud, made his golden cudgel ten thousand feet long, and then he swung it down to pry up the entire Black Wind Mountain.

The black bear demon who was resting in the cave looked up and saw that the mountain had been pried up. He was so scared that he quickly picked up the black tasseled spear and stood up.

At this time, Sun Wukong stood on the cloud and said, "Monster, return the cassock quickly. The cassock was given to my master by Guanyin Bodhisattva, but was taken away by Elder Jinchi. Now Elder Jinchi has died as a result of retribution. You should return the cassock quickly, or you will also suffer retribution."

The Black Bear Demon was shocked to see Sun Wukong's magical power and said, "You said that the cassock was given to your master by the Bodhisattva. Do you have any evidence? If you don't have any evidence, you are just robbing him by force."

"You want evidence? Okay, okay, I will call the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara from the South China Sea right now and make sure you have nothing to say. Otherwise, no one will say that I am robbing and bullying others." Sun Wukong said.

The black bear demon said, "If you can really invite Guanyin Bodhisattva to come, I will return this cassock to you."

Sun Wukong said: "Then you wait, don't run away."

The black bear demon said, "Whoever runs away is a bastard."

Sun Wukong smiled, then retracted his golden cudgel, turned around, and somersaulted into the South China Sea.

But it is said that when Sun Wukong arrived at the South China Sea, he went straight into the Purple Bamboo Forest Temple and met Guanyin Bodhisattva.

Guanyin Bodhisattva opened his eyes, looked at Sun Wukong and said, "You naughty monkey, why did you come to me instead of helping Tang Monk to obtain the scriptures?"

Sun Wukong said with a smile: "Buddha, I would like to ask you to be a witness."

Guanyin Bodhisattva smiled and said, "I know why you are here. All right, I will go with you."

After saying this, Guanyin Bodhisattva stood up and walked down the lotus platform, then rode on the auspicious clouds and went straight to Black Wind Mountain with Sun Wukong.

On the way, Sun Wukong told Guanyin Bodhisattva about the Guanyin Temple. The Bodhisattva just smiled and said, "That elder Jin Chi was a disciple of Buddhism, but he was greedy and repeatedly violated the precepts. Anyone who gave up his cassock in Guanyin Temple was spared death, but he was greedy and had delusions, which led to his death in the sea of fire. This is also karma."

"So that's how it is. What's the origin of that golden monster?" asked Sun Wukong.

Guanyin Bodhisattva glanced at Sun Wukong, then shook his head and said, "I don't know, maybe he is also a monster who covets the cassock."

Sun Wukong heard this and said, "So that's how it is. A monster and a monk both died because of their greed for the cassock. It seems that this person should be less greedy."

Guanyin Bodhisattva looked at Sun Wukong and said with a smile: "Wukong, it is great that you can understand this."

As they were talking, they had already reached the Black Wind Mountain. Sun Wukong immediately stepped forward and shouted, "Black Spirit, come out quickly. Guanyin Bodhisattva is here. Let's see if you have anything to say."

Instantly, the cave door opened, and the black bear demon came out with a group of little demons. When he saw the Guanyin Bodhisattva shining in the sky, he was shocked, but he said doubtfully: "Who knows if this is a real Bodhisattva or a fake one? Could it be that you found a demon-transformed Bodhisattva on some mountain?"

When Sun Wukong heard this, he immediately laughed and said, "How dare you be so rude to the Bodhisattva, you black spirit."

Then Sun Wukong turned to Guanyin Bodhisattva and said, "Bodhisattva, please let him see whether you are a real Bodhisattva or a fake one."

Guanyin Bodhisattva shook her head helplessly, then snapped her fingers, and a golden light flashed, and a golden hoop suddenly appeared on the black bear demon's head.

Seeing the golden hoop, Sun Wukong immediately felt gloating, and the Bodhisattva next to him also chanted a spell on the spot.

The next moment, the black bear demon rolled over on the ground, holding his head and screaming. After just a moment, he begged: "My little demon knows his mistake. Bodhisattva, please spare my life. Bodhisattva, please spare my life."

After Guanyin Bodhisattva finished chanting the spell, the black bear demon immediately knelt on the ground and bowed, "Little demon pays homage to the Bodhisattva, pays homage to the Bodhisattva."

Guanyin Bodhisattva looked at the black bear demon and said, "Black bear demon, that brocade cassock was originally a treasure that I gave to Tang Monk. Why did you take it away by force?"

The black bear demon's face turned pale with pain. Hearing this, he quickly said, "I was just greedy for a moment. I will return the cassock to you. Please forgive me, Bodhisattva. Forgive me!"

After saying that, the Black Bear Demon took out the colorful cassock. Sun Wukong immediately raised his hand and took the cassock back.

Guanyin Bodhisattva nodded and said to the black bear demon, "I see that you have some Buddha nature and extraordinary talent. It is not the right path to be a demon in this mountain. Why don't you go to my Luojia Mountain to practice and become a great god who guards the mountain?"

Hearing this, the black bear demon immediately prostrated himself on the ground and bowed, saying, "Buddha, be merciful. I am willing to guard the treasure mountain for you and practice Buddhism with you."

Now that he had the golden hoop on, he had no choice but to go or not.

Guanyin Bodhisattva nodded slightly, then said to Sun Wukong: "Wukong, the cassock has been retrieved. You can go back and protect Tang Seng on his quest for scriptures. Don't make any mistakes."

"Yes, thank you very much, Bodhisattva." Sun Wukong bid farewell to the Bodhisattva, then flew back to the Guanyin Temple with the cassock.

Guanyin Bodhisattva raised her hand and pointed, and the black bear demon immediately rose up on a cloud and flew behind Guanyin Bodhisattva.

Afterwards, Guanyin Bodhisattva brought the Black Bear Demon back to Luojia Mountain in the South China Sea, and accepted the Black Bear Demon as her disciple, appointing him as the great god guarding the mountain.

Finally, the Bodhisattva took out the jade slip, opened it, and wrote a line of words on it: "Greed leads to disaster, the third difficulty."
