Chapter 85 84: The Covenant of the Years! Snape's Evil!
Chapter 85 84: A Hundred Years of Alliance! Snape's Evil!
Inside the dark and towering tower of Nurmengard.
Time seemed to have solidified this long-parted reunion scene into a painting. The faint light from the top of the tower penetrated the thick stone walls and shone mottled light on the two former friends who were once magic giants.
Albus Dumbledore and Gellert Grindelwald looked at each other. Theirs was a century-long story, with half a century of unspeakable things, and the air was filled with a complex and indescribable emotion.
It is both a recollection of a long-parted reunion and a subtle sense of quietness.
"Please take a seat."
Gellert Grindelwald was the first to break the silence. The prison where he was was dim but not damp, and the beds, tables and chairs were simple but definitely not shabby at all.
Time and imprisonment have left deep marks on the face of this ambitious man, but he is still handsome, and his dark robe without any superfluous decoration and his gray hair are obviously well-groomed.
"Did you see me coming?" Dumbledore sat down opposite Gellert Grindelwald, his elegant purple robe proving that he had washed away the filth of the war.
"This does not require a prophecy. I just need to wait every day... this moment will always come." Gellert Grindelwald's blue eyes are like gems in the deep sea.
The emotions in his eyes were still as fiery as before. The magic chains on his wrists and ankles symbolized his lost freedom, but seemed unable to completely lock up his still boiling heart.
"The men you sent to keep an eye on me are dead. Well, maybe you already knew that." Dumbledore didn't say much.
Maybe he didn't know what to talk about, or maybe he didn't want to face their past.
"I have been informed."
Gellert Grindelwald nodded, his expression did not change at all. He kept staring at the old friend in front of him. Dumbledore rarely dared to look him in the eye.
"You're not surprised?"
Dumbledore did not ask who had given the notice in this place where outsiders were strictly prohibited from entering or leaving. He knew very well that the place that trapped Gellert Grindelwald was never a heavily guarded cage.
"Ronnie Erich was willing to die, but it seems that a small accident happened..." Gellert Grindelwald's blue eyes flickered slightly.
One of the pupils seemed to turn white, but returned to its original state in an instant.
"You want that child Aurora to kill him at some point, right?" Dumbledore had guessed this before coming, but he did not mention this guess to Snape.
"Quite the opposite."
Gellert Grindelwald raised a smile, and his horrified response made Dumbledore's eyes fixed, but Dumbledore did not show any surprise.
Perhaps this is the guess that Dumbledore really wants to verify.
"She is the last hope of the Grindelwald family and an outstanding descendant with the same talent as you. Yet you want her to die at the hands of your fanatical saints."
Dumbledore sighed softly.
Gellert Grindelwald remained calm. "Aurora is a good child, very obedient and excellent, but simply being excellent is obviously not enough."
"I'm sure you've already seen some things. Aurora's sacrifice will have meaning. This is what you taught me, Albus...for the greater good."
Outside the tower, the wind was howling.
Gellert Grindelwald's wildness and unruliness have never disappeared.
It even made Dumbledore feel that the other party was even crazier.
"I won't let this happen." Dumbledore finally looked into Gellert Grindelwald's eyes. The determination and inexplicable persistence in his eyes made Gellert Grindelwald's eyes tremble slightly.
"We all know that it was just an accident back then... This is different." He seemed to be worried that Dumbledore would misunderstand, so he couldn't help but become a little nervous.
"I understand that very well, otherwise, you wouldn't be here." Dumbledore's tone was impolite, but it made Gellert Grindelwald feel relieved.
"In fact, fate is so unpredictable that I still haven't figured it out to this day. I am more in awe of it than before, so I can only tell you one thing."
"Albus, as long as my blood relative dies at a certain moment, a prospect far greater than the benefits you and I envision will appear before the eyes of all of us wizards."
Gellert Grindelwald's expression was full of amazement... and fanaticism.
He seemed to be trying to convince his old friend.
however.
"no way!"
Dumbledore only gave a brief but powerful response. Gellert Grindelwald, who was originally full of vigor and vitality, gradually calmed down with his expectations and longings.
He immediately waved his hand with some disinterest.
"Anyway, you've already proven that I'm not necessarily right. Forget it. Besides, someone stopped me before you did. I won't think about pushing this matter any further."
Gellert Grindelwald made a promise.
"In fact, when I first came here, I thought you would lie to me, just like before, and tell me that you just wanted Ronnie Erich to sacrifice himself to the Hogwarts curse."
Dumbledore's eyes were filled with a mysterious light.
Snape didn't believe him.
Not to mention Gellert Grindelwald.
but.
Gellert Grindelwald didn't mind.
"We have all tasted the bitter fruit of betrayal, haven't we? So of course I won't lie to you about this kind of thing." Gellert Grindelwald smiled charmingly.
He was still as elegant as he was when he was young, and he loved to tease. "In fact, if you can ask me for help, the curse of your unsuccessful student will no longer be a problem."
Faced with Gellert Grindelwald's hint, Dumbledore shook his head firmly.
"The curse needs to continue to exist, so that person can feel strong enough to have the courage to challenge me and reveal his hidden weaknesses."
Dumbledore's voice was calm and low. It was not that he was unable to solve the Hogwarts curse. He just needed to use the curse to achieve some goals that he had to achieve.
about this point.
Perhaps only Gellert Grindelwald was not surprised.
"That's you, Albus. I can see that you've just killed quite a few people. The side of you that you used to hide has finally come out again."
"As charming as ever... Can you tell me what has changed you?" Gellert Grindelwald leaned forward slightly on the table.
"Can't you see it?"
Dumbledore frowned.
"Not everything. We are all just mortals, have you forgotten?" Gellert Grindelwald still smiled, and he did not hide the weaknesses of his talent.
"I don't intend to let you know. Yes, this is better. You may try to guess. It can also be regarded as finding something for you to do to pass the time on weekdays."
Dumbledore's answer made Gellert Grindelwald's smile freeze.
His eyes were dejected.
But Dumbledore pretended not to see it and began to change the subject, "You said someone stopped you? I thought Ronnie Erich died at the hands of the little wizard under the Imperius Curse as you instructed. There was no poison in his body, only alcohol. He drank a lot of high-concentration liquor before he died."
This is not just a change of subject, it is actually Dumbledore's doubt.
"A saint does not need the paralysis of alcohol when he goes to die. It is a glorious mission and a dedication to the future." Gellert Grindelwald used the saints' loyalty to him to deny Dumbledore's words.
"By the way, Ronnie Erich never drinks."
His words seemed like a reminder.
But Dumbledore, with a frown on his face, couldn't understand it.
"It seems that the comfortable life in Hogwarts has made your brain not as useful as mine." Gellert Grindelwald chuckled and teased again.
"Tell me the answer." Dumbledore looked up.
Gellert Grindelwald pursed his lips and leaned back slightly.
"Ronnie Erich sent me a letter. If you can find my reply in his office, you can understand why Ronnie Erich celebrated."
One of Gellert Grindelwald's eyes kept switching between white and blue so frequently that even Dumbledore felt something was wrong.
"Can't you just tell me what the reply is about?" He realized that Gellert Grindelwald was making a prophecy, but it seemed that the prophecy did not come true.
At least, it wasn't completely successful.
"My reply hasn't been sent yet, look." Gellert Grindelwald took out a letter that had not yet been sealed from the side of the table.
Looking at the paper in his hand.
The pupils in Dumbledore's eyes suddenly contracted several times.
"There are no coincidences in the world, Albus. Someone used the Imperius Curse to stop Ronnie Erich's action which had not yet started. He was even able to use some means to interfere with my ability to continue predicting." Gellert Grindelwald was neither panicked nor uneasy. His expression seemed to be filled with excitement.
Hear the words.
Dumbledore's expression became much more serious. He had been entangled with various prophecies since he was young, and the accumulation of years had allowed him to study this aspect in depth.
"Someone predicted the future you were trying to lead and tried to stop it?" Dumbledore was well aware of the nature of prophecy, so he understood how terrible this matter was.
"Someone destroyed my prophecy and directed the future to the result he wanted. In this murder, there were two prophets playing a game."
"And I am still the loser. But it's not like I lost for no apparent reason."
Gellert Grindelwald leaned back in his chair, his voice low and magnetic, powerful yet relaxed, even when he was discussing one of his defeats, he was still graceful and elegant.
"If a prophecy comes true, there will be no such thing as coincidence. If there is, it will be the answer to the question." The words of the silver-haired old man made Dumbledore feel a strong sense of uneasiness in his heart.
"Whose coincidence are you talking about?"
He looked up suddenly.
His eyes were fixed on Gellert Grindelwald.
"I can't see this clearly. You've seen my situation. That person is very powerful... Whoever he is, you may need my help."
Gellert Grindelwald did not respond to Dumbledore's question, or perhaps he did not know. He just whispered and stretched out his handcuffed hands to Dumbledore.
"Albus, this time, it's still for the future you want to see."
Cold stone wall.
Dark room.
Gellert Grindelwald once again challenged his best friend to a covenant.
……
The next morning.
Last night's chaos didn't seem to affect the start of the new day.
Think about it too.
Even if Voldemort was killing people everywhere, Hogwarts would still go on as usual, as if nothing had happened. How could the loss of control of a small fire ash snake affect its operation?
Early in the morning.
After breakfast, the little wizards gathered on the school's outdoor lawn. The Ravenclaw little wizards would take classes with the Slytherin little wizards, who were always disliked by the other three colleges.
of course.
Compared to Gryffindor.
The young Slytherin wizards are slightly friendlier to their Ravenclaw classmates, but only slightly, depending on the number of Muggle wizards in Ravenclaw that year.
Since it was their first flying lesson, the young wizards were very excited and were chattering about it in their respective academies. There was even a young wizard from Slytherin who shouted that his mother worked in the relevant review department and had already reserved an epic flying broomstick Nimbus 2000 for him, which would be released next year.
"It is said that it flies faster than light!"
There was a lot of boasting on the Slytherin side.
Some of the little wizards on the Ravenclaw side actually showed envious expressions. Ian was thoughtful. He felt that in addition to teaching the bronze eagle beast advanced mathematics, he also needed to teach it some more physics knowledge, so that the little wizards of Ravenclaw could achieve all-round development in morality, intelligence, physical fitness and aesthetics.
A wizard who practices both physics and magic is a truly powerful wizard!
"I don't envy them. The broom in my house can turn the user invisible along with it. Ian, if you're interested, I'll bring it to you next year so you can see and touch it."
After all, my good roommate William’s family has a long history of learning, so it is normal that there are some things in his family that are difficult for ordinary people to understand. I don’t know if there will be any strange things in the future.
"Isn't it a gift for me?" Ian was not actually interested in the invisible broom. He just thought of the Twisted Fiction world where he had said similar words to Ms. Ravenclaw.
Maybe if he had not just asked the little Ravenclaw to take a look at it, but had brought it to touch, he would have been able to see with his own eyes that Ms. Ravenclaw had repaired the tiara and then let him take it back?
"It's not that I don't want to give it to you, Ian, you have to believe me, if I gave you the broom at home, how could I use it to do the dirty work for you and little Lord Grindelwald?"
What a reasonable answer.
Looking at William, who was serious and righteous in front of him, Ian also realized that he did not seem suitable to be a flatterer. Some people were destined to do that since they were born.
"I said he would be a good fit for the Ministry."
Michael was still sighing beside him.
"He is the Minister of Magic!"
Ian looked around on the lawn and did not see Aurora in the Slytherin area, but he saw an old bat in a black robe walking towards him in a hurry.
The Slytherin wizards greeted him, but he just nodded expressionlessly, walked straight to the Ravenclaw side without stopping, and grabbed Ian by the back of the collar.
"Uncle Professor Snape! Put me down! I can walk by myself!" Ian was carried towards the castle. He felt that he had lost the dignity that a young professor should have in front of his classmates.
"What kind of magic potion did you give Dumbledore?" Snape took Ian to a secluded corner and couldn't help asking Ian the question that had troubled him all night. There was no way, he really couldn't sleep. Before yesterday, Snape thought he was a radical, but who would have thought that Dumbledore was even more radical than him!
"what happened?"
Ian asked curiously.
"Dumbledore asked me to give this to you... I really don't know what he was thinking. Although he didn't come back today, he sent Fawkes to keep an eye on me!"
Snape's hair was a little thinning, and it was easy to find the reason.
His expression seemed as if he was very reluctant, but he still took out a piece of paper from his arms and threw it on Ian's chest. Ian quickly hugged the thin paper with a slight smell of smoke.
"If you dare to learn the Unforgivable Curses in the library if I catch you, even if Dumbledore comes... I will make you drink the most unpalatable potion in the world!"
"You'll never forget that taste!" Snape's threat seemed to lack some strength, but it was probably the most believable threat he could think of that would make Ian believe it.
"what?"
Ian lowered his head and saw the paper, then he understood why Snape had warned him. It turned out that it was an approval slip that allowed unconditional borrowing of books from the restricted area of the library.
No limits!
"I knew Dumbledore was a kind headmaster! As expected, only a truly powerful wizard would understand that there are only evil wizards in this world, not evil magic!"
Ian was pleasantly surprised.
"?????"
Snape was full of questions.
He really didn't know what to say.
Do I have to admit that I am the superficial professor?
"Remember my warning!" Snape always felt that there was some little secret between Ian and Dumbledore, and he, as a blood relative, was an outsider between Ian and Dumbledore.
Blood relatives?
Snape seemed to have caught some blind spot at this moment.
"Hey! What are you doing!"
Before Ian could react, seven or eight strands of hair on his head were plucked out by Snape, who had just walked away and suddenly turned back.
Seeing Snape grabbing the hair and running hurriedly towards the castle, his impatience was very obvious, and Ian immediately reacted with wide eyes.
"Evil Snape! He must want to turn into me and sneak into the girls' room to do evil things!"
Ian wanted to give chase.
But today's flying lesson is about to begin.
William and Michael had come over to urge him on Madam Hooch's instructions.
