Chapter 28: The Fanatic's Obsession

Chapter 28: The Fanatic's Obsession

With Ian's departure.

The messy bookstore regained its undisturbed tranquility.

The sun sets gradually.

The sky was dyed with a gentle orange-red color, and the earth quietly changed into the gorgeous clothes of the night. Aurora Grindelwald turned on the light and continued to read the notebook titled "Analysis and Research of Runes".

The light and shadows interweave between the bookshelves.

From time to time, the subtle sound of book pages turning could be heard in the store.

Although the German girl told Ian that the bookstore owner Kraft would be back soon, his figure did not appear until late at night when the night sky was dotted with stars.

"Click~"

As night falls.

The door of the bookstore had been closed by Aurora. The old man pushed the door open and walked in. He gently took off his old hat. The brim of the hat still had traces of dust from outside and wrinkles left by the breeze.

"Miss, haven't you rested yet?"

The bookstore owner, Kraft, spoke in a rather respectful tone, which did not seem like the attitude of an elder at all. There was a hint of fatigue in his voice that was difficult to conceal.

"It's still early."

Aurora didn't look up. She read the notes spread out on her legs and spoke in a slightly curious tone.

"Besides, I also want to know what message your grandfather gave you that caused you to run out in a panic and come back in the middle of the night looking exhausted."

Facing the heir of the Grindelwald family, Kraft just pursed his lips and shook his head, and did not give the answer Aurora wanted.

“Some things are not yet your time to touch upon them.”

This was actually the answer Aurora expected.

Her expression and concentration did not change as she continued to study the book on her knees.

"It's natural to be tired. I and other saints are basically old. We are no longer as energetic as we were when we were young... I don't know if we will have time to see the day when our ideals are realized."

Kraft sighed heavily, slowly took off his heavy robe, and hung it on the hanger at the door.

Even such a simple action caused his breathing to speed up and he began to gasp for air.

"My talent is not as dazzling as my grandfather's, and I don't have the same ambition as my grandfather. If you place your hopes on me, it will only make you die with regrets and disappointment."

Aurora looked up.

Staring at Kraft with her heterochromatic eyes.

Kraft felt a trance.

For a moment.

He thought he had finally returned to the old days, back to the days when dreams and passion coexisted...but unfortunately, Aurora's words brought him back to reality.

It's all over.

The great leader lost his freedom.

The saints who were once so glorious have become candles in the wind.

"No, it won't be like that."

Kraft was not annoyed, but instead spoke in a firm tone.

"Your grandfather believes that you can complete his unfinished work and that you will be better than him. He has paved the way for you and you will succeed under our protection."

There was a frenzy in Kraft's voice.

Aurora fell silent.

She wanted to retort.

just.

She knows it too.

For the saints.

My grandfather is almost like a belief.

Don't even mention refutation.

Even the slightest disagreement will lead to resistance from the saints.

"Don't you think it's a little too cruel to entrust such a heavy burden to a child?" Aurora sighed slightly, a trace of sadness flashed in her eyes.

"The fact that you can say such things shows that you are no longer a child." Kraft responded in a low voice, his attitude showing humility from beginning to end.

only.

This humility comes not from loyalty to Aurora, but from loyalty to Aurora's grandfather.

"Bearing the surname Grindelwald, you are destined to undertake an extraordinary mission since you were born." These words are heavy, but they are indeed a fact that cannot be deceived.

Aurora understood this, too.

"I don't think I can lead you to rise."

Aurora spoke seriously.

Kraft chuckled and didn't care.

"Lord Grindelwald has seen such a future. For us saints, that is enough." Kraft's cloudy eyes looked unusually bright.

That light.

It's probably called expectation.

"Perhaps, the self-imprisonment he is experiencing now and the suffering he endured in the past are all paving the way for you, and are all for the greater good to deceive Dumbledore!"

This is a fanatic.

They can always come up with a seemingly harmonious and "reasonable" explanation for things that they find difficult to accept. Aurora knew that she couldn't change Kraft's mind.

just like.

Over the past ten years.

She couldn't change like the other saints who "grew up with" her.

Sometimes, Aurora really admired her grandfather. She couldn't imagine what kind of personal charm could make a group of people still loyal to him after he disappeared for so many years. Still believe that he still has the power of God.

"Let's talk about something else."

Aurora didn't want to comment too much on why her grandfather was imprisoned.

She has only seen him three or four times so far.

Powerful, elegant, gentle.

This is Aurora's deepest impression of Gellert Grindelwald.

As for family affection...

"Hasn't Dumbledore approved my application yet?"

Aurora changed the subject.

"Dumbledore is a hateful guy, but now we are in his territory after all, you should still maintain some superficial respect for your future headmaster."

Kraft reminded him seriously, and then responded in a very firm tone, "Don't worry, you don't need to worry about not being able to enroll in Hogwarts."

"Although we all don't think this school is qualified to train you, your grandfather wants you to study here, so Dumbledore will not be an obstacle to your admission."

"That damn guy will agree eventually."

Kraft would become gnashing of teeth whenever he mentioned Dumbledore.

about this point.

Similar problems can be found in almost any saint.

Aurora was used to it.

"That's good."

She lowered her head and began to read the notes in her hand again.

The entire bookstore returned to silence.

Kraft raised his wand to clean his coat, and then, as he was about to walk to the back room, he glanced at the three runic textbooks still piled on the counter.

"Has the little boy been here?"

Kraft picked up the three books with great interest and looked at them. He didn't see many signs that they had been flipped through. It seemed that the three books had not been read for a long time after they were bought.

“He’s here to sell books.”

Aurora answered briefly.

"He's a cunning kid, much smarter than his peers. You weren't fooled by him, were you?" Kraft threw three books toward the bookshelf.

"Pull~"

There is no magical guidance.

Kraft's shooting accuracy is indeed quite poor.

All three books fell to the ground.

However, Kraft didn't even have the thought or intention to cast a spell to save the situation.

Aurora looked up thoughtfully.

"I gave him a gold coin."

There is not much difference between her voice and her normal voice, it is tender, crisp and her emotions are stable.

"I never thought you could trap that cunning kid!"

Upon hearing this, Kraft couldn't help but look at Aurora in surprise, then he couldn't stop smiling, raised his dry arm and gave Aurora a thumbs up.

"I think he's pretty good. He said he wants to be friends with me."

Aurora's cold face showed no expression, but she liked to read books on her knees, but at this moment she picked up the entire notebook and read it.

"Ok?"

Kraft didn't notice anything unusual; he was focusing on something else.

"Does that little devil know your identity, young lady?"

The smile on Kraft's face had disappeared, replaced by a narrowed-eyed look of vigilance.

"Yes."

Aurora raised her notes a few points higher.

"We exchanged names. His name is Ian Prince."

The girl's tone was as calm as always.

"Heh, it seems he is a Muggle-born wizard."

Kraft frowned slightly.

It's not that he doubted Aurora's communication skills, but Aurora's grandfather had already made the surname "Grindelwald" a thing of awe in the hearts of wizards.

Grindelwald may not be as scary as Voldemort, but if a young wizard comes from a wizard family, he will definitely know what this surname means.

"His parents are wizards."

The girl suddenly corrected herself.

Kraft was slightly stunned.

“Is this what you saw happening?”

Kraft's gaze went to Aurora's eyes.

His eyes once again showed fanaticism.

"He knows what Grindelwald means, and..."

Aurora recalled the conversation between her and Ian before he left during the day. She lowered her head to reread her notes while speaking in a calm tone that was meant to shock people.

"He said he wanted to be the Dark Lord."
