Chapter 181 180: King's Power and Wealth, Ian's Heart
Chapter 181 180: King's Power and Wealth, Ian's Heart
The scarlet handwriting gleamed with a creepy luster under the firelight.
"Has returned from death?"
Ian's eyes narrowed slightly.
"Who isn't? I just returned too." This was the little wizard's subconscious thought, but even though he complained, the crooked handwriting on the wall still made him feel extremely surprised.
Who would scribble something like that on the walls of Hogwarts to scare people?
The answer is self-evident.
Some of Voldemort's Horcruxes are still scattered around. There would be no one else who would do such a thing except his good brother Tom. The little wizard can probably guess the situation with a quick estimate.
What surprised Ian was that the words that were supposed to be "The secret room has been opened, and those who are enemies of the heirs should be vigilant" turned out to be like words like an acceptance speech.
"I... have returned from death?" Ian read the words on the wall and turned to look at the blond boy next to him. "I didn't expect you to be such a middle school kid."
Of course he knew that these words were unlikely to be written by Lyrium, but that didn't stop him from teasing this slightly mysterious boy who always gave him a familiar yet strange feeling.
Lirium was visibly stunned after hearing what Ian said.
"I'm not some dying soul, and I can't write something like that which shows off that a hapless guy doesn't even realize it." After shaking his head with a smile, the blond boy responded with a helpless tone.
This made the little wizard even more surprised.
"You seem to know something that I shouldn't know." Ian raised his eyebrows, his tone slightly surprised, and he looked up and down at the blond boy in front of him again.
No normal person would make such a guess.
Most people would just think it was a prank. Even if they didn't know about the prank twins at Hogwarts, normal people wouldn't think of it as a resurrection of the soul.
"Of course."
Facing the little wizard's gaze, the blond boy just smiled softly.
"Don't underestimate our Ollivander family. The Ollivander family has noble blood. We are descendants of the legendary and immortal super wizard Merlin, who is extremely wise, mysterious, boundless, prophetic, brave, and immortal. At least, we are the closest to him in blood. Our heritage is stronger than that of most pure-blood families."
His tone was full of pride and a kind of shameless boasting. No one knew how he could think of so many adjectives to describe a wizard in such a short period of time.
"I think your ancestors must be very happy to have a descendant like you." Ian couldn't help but give a thumbs up. He felt that he had seen someone in Lyrium who was thicker-skinned than himself.
"Yes, of course, he must be very happy." Lirium readily accepted Ian's evaluation, and his extraordinary golden eyes looked at the words on the wall again.
"You know, this is something that many ancient wizards were very curious about. It's just a pity that throughout history, no wizard has dared to try it."
"Now, there really is such an unlucky guy who did something that no one else dared to do. I bet that no matter what the outcome is, this guy will definitely leave a significant mark in history." The blond boy gently stroked the words on the wall, his voice light and with an inexplicable sense of expectation.
“Isn’t this a kind of legend?”
His soft whisper did not escape Ian's ears.
The young wizard immediately raised his eyebrows.
"What do you mean?" Ian heard the word "legend", which seemed a little sensitive to him tonight. He couldn't help but look at the mysterious blond boy deeply again.
Lirim had no intention of beating around the bush.
"What I mean is that the miracle of resurrection from the dead is not something that humans can create... It is an event that requires the participation of a higher power."
The blond boy's eyes were deep and profound, and his soft voice was filled with emotion, as if he was admiring the person he was talking about.
"What do you think it will be?" Ian obviously wanted to trick Lyrium, but Lyrium didn't fall for it. Instead, the blond boy seemed to see through Ian's thoughts.
He did not give a direct answer, but just spoke in a vague way.
"Do you know? In the dark arts, the reason why the ritual of making Horcruxes has been despised for so many years is because making a Horcrux itself requires paying the price of deceiving the god of death."
"And the God of Death himself doesn't like to be deceived... There are rumors that he has been deceived too many times by certain beings." The things that Lirium mentioned were obviously beyond what he should be exposed to at his age.
Ian was a little surprised that the Ollivander family might be a long-hidden dark wizard family.
"You also know about Horcruxes?"
It was no wonder that the young wizard was so surprised. Cutting-edge black magic knowledge like Horcruxes had never been circulated even among many powerful wizards.
Even some pure-blood families may know very little about it.
"Don't you know that?"
Lirim asked a rhetorical question directly.
"..."
Ian was rarely left speechless by questions from his peers, let alone from his junior classmates who were a grade younger than him. He felt that he should defend his dignity as a senior at Hogwarts.
"I know that's because I am knowledgeable and have learned a lot. This is not something a young wizard should be exposed to." As he said this, Ian looked at Lyrium with a very serious expression.
"Such knowledge will corrupt the souls of those with weak minds." He was not trying to scare people, but black magic did have the effect of affecting those who came into contact with it.
of course.
It's not as polluted as Cthulhu.
"I have a very strong mind. I believe that only I can influence the dark magic, and the dark magic cannot influence me." Lyrium didn't take Ian's reminder seriously.
"Okay, okay, you can be the fourth Dark Lord." Ian listened to Lyrium's disdainful words. He felt that he might have discovered the hidden seed player in Hogwarts.
"Who is the third generation? You?"
Lirium seemed to be somewhat interested in this.
"The third generation Dark Lord is of course the third generation Dark Lord. You will naturally know who he is when he appears." Ian felt that he should not damage the reputation of his good uncle in advance.
He glanced at the writing on the wall again and began to change the subject of the conversation.
"Do you think we should disturb the professors' peaceful sleep?" These obviously suggestive words were immediately understood by Lirim.
He immediately shook his head.
"If you don't want to be investigated, suspected, or have more rumors spread about you, the best way is to pretend you didn't see anything. I think the professors will also notice the abnormality here tomorrow."
"Whether they think this is a prank or something else, it has nothing to do with us students." Lirim and Ian looked at each other.
The tacit understanding is unspoken.
"Good, good, I can't bear any more rumors. It is the professors who should be worried, not the two of us. I think whoever left these words will not have the ability to cause any big trouble for the time being." Ian's judgment is not unreasonable. Only people who are bluffing will do such a scare operation.
Really that kind of ruthless person.
There will be absolutely no warning or signs before murder or arson.
"I have something else to do. You continue to stand there. When you go back, talk to our door knocker. It will be good for you." Ian took a picture of the wall and prepared to leave. He thought that Lirium might have good looks, so he hoped that Lirium could develop feelings with the door knocker. In this way, the psychopathic bronze eagle head might fall in love with someone else.
"no problem."
Lirim obviously didn't anticipate Ian's "evil" intentions.
He watched as Ian prepared to leave.
"You seem to have little interest in becoming the Dark Lord, and you don't care much about the support of the pure-blood families. I don't think you can't see what position our families want to push you into."
The blond boy suddenly spoke to Ian, showing judgment and ideas that were not suitable for his age. Perhaps this was the maturity that a descendant of a pure-blooded noble should have.
"Appreciate further details?"
Ian stopped walking, the heavy rain outside the house crackled, he turned to look at Lyrium who was still standing in the distance, with a look of confusion in his eyes that was obviously a performance.
Lyrium was not fooled by Ian's pretense of stupidity.
"You know, you've always known... The wizards are eager to have a king, and you are the new choice they see, but while you accept their kindness, you seem reluctant to take on this responsibility."
"Believe me, this is not good. There is no free lunch in the world. If you can't give them the future they want, they will be as hostile to you in the future as they admire you now."
Lirium seemed to be admonishing and reminding Ian.
just.
The young wizard didn't care.
"My dear junior, you talked about too many things that you shouldn't talk about at your age, and you also know too many things that you shouldn't know at your age..."
Ian first looked at Lirium deeply.
Gave a heartfelt evaluation.
Then he changed the subject and began to respond to Lyrium's question.
"Of course I know that you have to pay for what you gain. I just don't want to be the kind of person you expect. But that doesn't mean I can't satisfy your wishes." Ian would never talk about such things with his peers under normal circumstances, but he has realized that there are some differences in Lyrium.
"What do you mean?"
After hearing the little wizard's answer, Lirium frowned and his eyes flickered.
"It's simple. I really don't want to be arranged by you, but I also admit that I am happy to accept the benefits you give me, so I already have a win-win-win solution for all three parties."
Ian's smile seemed a little dull in the light of the fire.
"Oh?"
Lyrium showed a surprised expression.
He seemed to be asking curiously with his golden eyes.
"You want a king, then I will give you a king, but this king does not have to be me... In this way, everyone wins, and everyone can get what they want." Ian did not express his thoughts on a whim, he had already had ideas about this.
"Give us a king..."
Lirim's eyes narrowed slightly after hearing this.
but.
That somewhat meaningful expression was fleeting.
"This should be called a win-win situation, right? Who else won?" After he came to his senses, his focus was seriously diverted, and his confused voice was filled with curiosity.
The little wizard immediately smiled happily.
"No, it's a win-win-win situation. No matter if I can find a place to win or not, I have to win twice." Ian's response made Lyrium open his mouth for a long time without being able to make a sound.
He really didn't know what to say. How could there be such an outrageous person in this world? Just when Lirim seemed to have a new understanding of Ian again.
"Okay, it's getting late, I have to go study." Ian waved to him, raised his foot, and walked along the winding corridor towards the alchemy professor's office.
His figure disappeared in the night sky filled with lightning and fire.
After a while.
"What do you mean by giving all wizards a king? This guy is so arrogant." A nightingale with colorful body came out silently from Lirium's arms.
Its tone was somewhat indignant.
Apparently he had heard the entire conversation between Ian and Lirium.
"I don't think there's anything wrong with it, I just find it a little unexpected... Well, maybe this is normal, and his subconscious cognition is still affecting him."
Lyrium's eyes were still fixed on Ian's leaving discovery.
His thoughtful voice puzzled the little nightingale.
"What subconscious cognition? Did you hear ghost stories about the Wizard King when you were a child?" It has to be said that the thinking of this little bird with a soft voice is quite peculiar.
Her complaints did not receive an immediate response from Lirium.
The blond boy turned his head and looked out the window. The light in the corridor was dim and warm, in stark contrast to the outside world. Outside, the sky seemed to be torn apart by anger, with thunder and rain interweaving, strong winds raging, and raindrops like dense drumbeats, violently hitting the windows and roof, making rapid and powerful sounds.
"The subconscious is a very interesting thing. It can be even more stubborn than memory. The reason why my 'senior' is so resistant to becoming the king of all wizards is probably because of his subconscious."
"His words and his thoughts all confirm this. He does not want to bear the responsibilities that a king should have, but he is very willing to exercise things that most people dare not even dream of."
A dazzling bolt of lightning split the sky, like a sharp sword from the gods, splitting the darkness in two, illuminating the entire world, as well as Lyrium's furrowed brows and deep eyes.
"Ah? What does that mean? Speak human language! No! Speak in words that birds can understand!" The nightingale felt that its little brain was not enough. It just felt that the blond boy's voice was quite emotional.
"Don't you understand yet, my friend?"
Lyrium's eyes reflected the arcs of lightning in the sky.
"This is called, royal power and wealth cannot compete with... the divine right of kings."
Thunder rolls.
Between the roar.
The blond boy whispered softly, expressing his inner thoughts.
