Chapter 754 Leave Request
Chapter 754 - Leave of Absence
Dear readers, I need to take a break from updating this book for a while to adjust my writing style. I apologize for keeping you waiting so long.
The hiatus was sudden; I just sat in front of the computer and suddenly couldn't write anymore.
I've had severe writer's block before. Every time I put pen to paper, it feels like the water in a well has dried up, like boiling water until it's all gone and only a wisp of steam remains. There's no more flow, no more rhythm, no more satisfying feeling.
Seeing some readers say the pacing is too slow, I thought about speeding up the plot, but then I felt there were many things I hadn't explained, the details weren't enough, the characters were too unrealistic, and the foreshadowing wasn't sufficient. But after finishing writing it, I wondered if the plot was too drawn out (pulling my hair).
The initial concept for "Top Guide" only covered the Golden City and the Sea Clan. I figured there weren't many readers left (and the later parts probably weren't very good), so I sped up the outline, moved into the North Second District, found the main nest, had an all-faction war, and that was it.
But when I wrote about the past of the sea creatures, and the history of Obsidian City and the Golden Clan, I felt that ending it there was too abrupt. I really wanted to unfold the ancient tapestry of the Golden Clan, the Dragon Clan, and the Sea Creatures. Their civilization had collapsed, yet it had once shone brightly in the river of time. I was also thinking about how to find a new path for the Golden Clan, or whether to let them completely become a thing of the past.
And there's also the fact that Xiaxia's story on Earth hasn't been filled yet.
The plot has basically filled in the plot holes from before, and there are still some scenes of Xiaxia and the Sentinel's daily interactions that might be a bit boring for some readers. If no one is interested, I'll write those later.
This book has many shortcomings, and I'm very happy and honored that you liked it. If you don't like it anymore, thank you for having liked it at the time.
And to all my loyal readers, you are the ones who keep following my updates. You are the ones who give me the motivation to pick up my pen again and keep writing whenever I feel like giving up.
Regardless, I will finish writing this book and this story, though updates may be slower.
Minor spoiler: After completing the Obsidian Castle storyline, there will likely be one or two more volumes of content to follow.
A separate illusionary instance for Xiaxia and the main characters (CP).
Supplementing the plot about the sea creatures and Earth—plus the grand finale, etc.
(Specific details will be adjusted based on the subsequent plot development)
If there are any plot points I've missed, please let me know. Also, please let me know which characters and storylines you'd like to see featured, and I'll consider adding them to the story (or perhaps in a side story?).
