Chapter 9: One Step Closer to Miss Jiang

Two minutes later, she sighed. Why hadn't the driver accepted the order yet? This rain started suddenly, and she didn't know when it would stop.

Just as she was feeling worried, a black sedan approached from afar through the misty rain. Jiang Yuning didn't pay attention and kept looking down at her phone.

At that moment, a horn sounded, and Jiang Yuning looked up.

The car window on one side slowly rolled down, and the man's long, slender fingers rested on the window. Jiang Yuning's gaze met his.

Fu Xicheng glanced sideways, casually letting the raindrops fall on the back of his hand. "Miss Jiang, haven't you booked a ride yet? Would I have the honor of giving you a ride?"

Jiang Yuning glanced down at her phone. The driver hadn't accepted any orders yet. She pursed her lips. She did have other work to do at the company, and if things continued to be delayed, she might have to work overtime in the afternoon.

"Thank you, Mr. Fu."

Jiang Yuning rushed into the rain and jogged to the car.

A sly glint flashed in Fu Xicheng's eyes. "There are tissues next to the seat. Miss Jiang, you can wipe yourself."

Jiang Yuning expressed her gratitude to Fu Xicheng.

Jiang Yuning did not speak on her own initiative throughout the journey.

When the car arrived at Lantian Building, Fu Xicheng handed Jiang Yuning an umbrella. Jiang Yuning thanked Fu Xicheng again and then walked into the office building with the umbrella.

Fu Xicheng chuckled. He had a good day and was one step closer to catching up with Miss Jiang.

Fu Xicheng did not drive the car away immediately, but slowly drove it into the underground parking lot, then took the elevator to the top floor.

In the top-floor office, Lu Zhiqian was engrossed in processing the documents in his hands. When he saw the person who came in, he stood up in surprise and turned the computer screen towards Fu Xicheng.

"Fu Xicheng, this was your doing, wasn't it? The matter had only been brewing for a few hours, and you already stepped in to resolve it."

Fu Xicheng glanced at the computer screen indifferently, then sat down opposite Lu Zhiqian at a leisurely pace.

"Lu Zhiqian, does your design director have no eye for detail? Do you have no eye for detail either? Are those two works really that similar? Even I, a layman, can tell them apart."

Lu Zhiqian spoke frankly: "It's not because we lack discernment, but because the other company would rather break the contract than not cooperate with us."

Fu Xicheng sneered, not believing his nonsense at all. "According to you, Xie Linzhou is blind and brainless."

Lu Zhiqian got up and slowly brewed a pot of fragrant Longjing tea for Fu Xicheng.

He patted Fu Xicheng on the shoulder, "You're already so angry with me as soon as you arrive. Did you just come back from Xie Linzhou's place? Here, have a cup of Longjing tea to cool down."

Fu Xicheng took the teacup, merely sniffing the aroma of the tea. "I told you to keep an eye on people, is this how you do it? Lu Zhiqian, I've finally met someone I like. You're my brother, you have to help me."

Lu Zhiqian smiled slightly, showing no anger at Fu Xicheng's complaints.

"Is it possible that I only just found out about this, and by the time I did, you had already taken action and resolved the matter?"

Fu Xicheng looked Lu Zhiqian up and down. He had the appearance of a refined scoundrel, which he had completely inherited from his father.

He seemed to be implying something, as if he was saying it to him on purpose.

Fu Xicheng said, "Something's fishy about this. I've already asked Linzhou to investigate. Zhiqian, do you think Jiang Yuning and I will get married this year?"

Fu Xicheng began to doubt his own charm.

Lu Zhiqian chuckled. He had never expected Fu Xicheng to be so obsessed. He had only just met Jiang Yuning and already wanted to marry her. He must be crazy about getting married. "You and Jiang Yuning have only met a few times. I think the probability of you getting married by the end of the year is only 5%."

“However,” Lu Zhiqian paused for a moment, then continued, “Fu Xicheng, sometimes deliberately getting close to Jiang Yuning often makes her stay away from you.”

Fu Xicheng nodded. "I understand."

When Jiang Yuning returned to the office, everyone turned to look at her. Meng Shuyu stopped what she was doing and quickly came over.

"Yu Ning, you're so fast! You finished this so quickly."

The office was crowded and noisy, so Jiang Yuning didn't want to reveal too much information to Meng Shuyu. She simply nodded to her without saying anything more.

Suddenly, a jarring sound of a chair being moved rang out.

At this moment, Qin Susu stood up from her seat, took her phone, and left the office.

Qin Susu went to the restroom, closed the door, and carefully looked around every corner. At this moment, she was the only one in the restroom.

Qin Susu found the call log and dialed the number at the top.

When the other party answered, Qin Susu complained, "I did as you planned. In just one morning, Xie's Group clarified the truth about Jiang Yuning's plagiarism. Now Jiang Yuning is fine. Didn't you say you had connections in Xie's Group? How come you can't even handle something this simple?"

There was a brief silence on the other end of the phone, followed by a deep voice.

“This is just the beginning. I want Jiang Yuning to suffer more than you do. Find some time to give me a list of Jiang Yuning’s clients. I want her kicked out of Huangtian Group.”

Qin Susu scoffed, "There are security cameras in the office. Do you think I'm stupid?"

"Why don't you find the right opportunity and use someone else? After it's done, I'll transfer one million to your account as a reward."

Qin Susu hung up the phone. She stood by the sink, looking at herself in the mirror. If it weren't for Jiang Yuning, she, Qin Susu, would be the star of the design department.

The only one to blame is Jiang Yuning for stealing the spotlight in the design department.

She pondered for a moment, and soon a flawless plan came to mind.

Qin Susu returned to her office and sat down in her chair to continue working as if nothing had happened, as if the incident had never occurred.

Not long after, a young man in a yellow shirt stood at the office door. "Hello, may I ask which one of you is Ms. Qin Susu?"

Qin Susu stood up and took the tote bag from the deliveryman.

For the first time ever, she distributed milk tea to each of her colleagues one by one, starting from the entrance.

Walking over to Jiang Yuning, Qin Susu placed a cup of milk tea on Jiang Yuning's table.

"Jiang Yuning, I was wrong this morning. This cup of milk tea is an apology. I shouldn't have believed the rumors that you plagiarized other people's work."

Jiang Yuning was immediately incredulous. She had never imagined that Qin Susu would lower her head and apologize. What was wrong with her today?
She felt that Qin Susu's behavior was a bit off.

Seeing that Jiang Yuning did not speak, Qin Susu whispered, "Jiang Yuning, don't you want to forgive me?"
