Chapter 57 Jiang Yuning, are you trying to murder your husband?

She didn't want to take the opportunity to steal her client. "Are you going to give this client to me?"

Jiang Yuning did have this idea. She took out her phone and, in front of Meng Shuyu, showed her the client's WeChat account.

"Shuyu, this client is now in your hands. You can contact him from now on."

Meng Shuyu had a hunch that Jiang Yuning must have encountered something yesterday, otherwise, why would the president's top assistant have the time to ask her about her affairs?

About half an hour later, Director Li's assistant knocked on the office door, "Designer Jiang, the director wants to see you."

Jiang Yuning stood up, convinced that the director must have been looking for her because of what happened yesterday.

She walked to the director's office, knocked twice, and went inside.

"Fu Xicheng, where is the president?"

Fu Xicheng sat on the sofa without moving, leaning leisurely against the armrest, his fingertips lightly tapping his knee.

"Are you talking about Lu Zhiqian? He went to a meeting in the conference room."

"He's the one who called you up here, but it's me who wants to see you."

Jiang Yuning frowned, her expression turning serious. "Do you know you're abusing your power for personal gain?"

Fu Xicheng was well aware of his actions. Even if it was an abuse of power for personal gain, so what? He wanted to see his girlfriend. Was that wrong?
He stared at Jiang Yuning. "You were right. I wanted to see you, so I used Lu Zhiqian to summon you here. Jiang Yuning, will you blame me?"

Jiang Yuning stood still, not taking a single step forward. Chatting idly with Fu Xicheng here was less appealing than going back to work.

She left with the words, "Fu Xicheng, I'm going back to work."

Upon hearing this, Fu Xicheng immediately stood up. He strode towards Jiang Yuning with his long legs and reached the door before her.

He faced her and closed the office door.

"Jiang Yuning, I told you to rest at home, but you wouldn't listen. It seems you don't take your health seriously."

Jiang Yuning is not the kind of weak person; she simply cannot stay at home.

“Fu Xicheng, you’re just idling at home anyway, and besides, I’m free now.”

Fu Xicheng reached out to take Jiang Yuning's hand, but she shook it off after only a second.

Fu Xicheng was surprised. He leaned against the door, completely blocking Jiang Yuning's way.

"Last night you kissed my cheek, but today you've turned your back on me. Jiang Yuning, you change your mind faster than anyone else."

Jiang Yuning had her own reasons: "Didn't you say that if I didn't like holding hands, I could shake off in public? Fu Xicheng, those were your exact words."

Fu Xicheng: "..."

Fu Xicheng hadn't expected that a single remark he'd made would leave him speechless. Fu Xicheng looked utterly dejected; Jiang Yuning was too quick to apply what she'd said to others.

Fu Xicheng said, "It's my honor to help my girlfriend."

“Lu Zhiqian won’t be back for a while, so you can sit on the sofa and have some fruit before you leave.”

Seeing the sincerity in Fu Xicheng's eyes, Jiang Yuning felt she couldn't refuse, so she nodded in agreement.

Jiang Yuning sat on a separate sofa, keeping a certain distance from Fu Xicheng.

Jiang Yuning was overthinking things. She was indeed worried that someone might suddenly barge in, so keeping a certain distance from Fu Xicheng was the safest course of action.

"We should be more self-aware."

Fu Xicheng lowered his eyes, picked up a toothpick, and forked a small piece of pineapple. "Open your mouth."

"I can do it myself."

Fu Xicheng sighed, "Sigh, it's so hard to even fulfill my duties as a boyfriend."

Seeing his downcast and dejected look, Jiang Yuning picked up the pineapple that Fu Xicheng had just put down with a fork.

She lifted Fu Xicheng's chin and placed a small piece of pineapple near his mouth.

"Fu Xicheng, don't be upset."

Fu Xicheng's eyebrows twitched slightly. He wasn't unhappy; he had just been thinking about how to get Jiang Yuning to eat the fruit on her own initiative.

Fu Xicheng did not reveal his true thoughts; he readily accepted Jiang Yuning's advances.

He ate a piece of pineapple; it was sweet with a hint of sourness, just like the scene from earlier.

He looked up at Jiang Yuning and pulled her forcefully into his arms.

Jiang Yuning, holding a toothpick, unexpectedly sat on Fu Xicheng's lap.

"Fu Xicheng, you bastard, how could you do this to me?"

Fu Xicheng had a playful expression on his face. "How did I treat you? I just wanted my girlfriend to be more comfortable."

Jiang Yuning shifted restlessly on his legs, worried that someone might suddenly barge in.

"Let go of me right now, I'm not comfortable at all."

Fu Xicheng didn't want to miss this opportunity. "Jiang Yuning, you're lying. Look, your face is all red."

Enraged, Jiang Yuning stabbed Fu Xicheng's thigh hard with a toothpick.
