She looked up at Fu Xicheng, her eyes shining with emotion.

Just then, Jiang Yuning's phone rang. It was Meng Shuyu calling.

Fu Xicheng frowned. This Meng Shuyu was really a handful.

Jiang Yuning glanced at him apologetically, then answered the phone.

Meng Shuyu's sobbing came from the other end of the phone, her voice thick with nasal congestion, "Yu Ning, Xie Linzhou and I have completely broken up."

Jiang Yuning softened her voice and gently comforted her, "Don't be sad. I think this may be temporary. You and President Xie need some time to calm down."

"Shuyu, don't be sad. What happened between you and Xie Linzhou? Can you tell me?"

“I went to Xie Linzhou’s company, but he refused to see me. I ignored the receptionist’s attempts to stop me and sneaked into his office. But he said he never wanted to see me again. How could he be so heartless?”

Jiang Yuning's expression turned cold, and her brows furrowed suddenly. "So you didn't ask him about what happened last night."

"Yeah, I didn't ask him. He looked at me like I was a complete stranger. I didn't even ask him anything, I just turned around and left."

Jiang Yuning gently patted Meng Shuyu's back, trying to comfort her.

"Perhaps you two were just angry for a moment. You've spent quite a bit of time together, how can you just break it off like that?"

Meng Shuyu shook her head in despair. Thinking of Xie Linzhou's icy face, she knew she could never go to the company to find him again.

"Being single has its advantages. Don't you think about how carefree you were when you were single? You could do whatever you wanted after get off work, you didn't have to chat with someone every day, and you could relax at home on weekends."

Meng Shuyu slowly smiled. Jiang Yuning was right; being single might not be such a bad choice.

Besides, there are plenty of good men in the world. She can't put all her eggs in one basket with Xie Linzhou. Perhaps there will be an even better man waiting for her in the future.

Meng Shuyu's emotions gradually calmed down. "Yu Ning, thank you. I'm so happy to have you as my best friend."
