Jiang Yuning asked the question that had been on her mind, "Fu Xicheng, is that elm-wood driver one of your men?"

Elmwood driver?

A glint flashed in Fu Xicheng's eyes; Jiang Yuning really knew how to use a metaphor.

He countered, "Ningning, Fu Tian's driver has been with him for almost seven years. Do you think he might be an informant I planted next to him?"

Jiang Yuning was certain that when she called Fu Xicheng a sickly man, there were only two people present: Fu Tian and the driver.

If the information wasn't leaked by the driver, then this whole thing is incredibly absurd.

“Fu Xicheng, I am quite certain that I remember the scene vividly.”

Fu Xicheng smiled and said frankly, "Fu Tian's driver is not an informant I planted next to him. Rather, the driver provided me with the information on his own initiative."

Jiang Yuning: "???"

Jiang Yuning suddenly felt that the driver wasn't quite right in the head, and his motives were still unknown.

Jiang Yuning walked out of the room and saw several men in police uniforms standing in the corridor.

The butler stood to the side, seemingly supervising them.

Shen Xici stared at Fu Xicheng, whose face was still somewhat pale. He subconsciously asked, "How are your injuries?"

Fu Xicheng sat on the bed. He knew his own body well and estimated that he would recover in a while.

He said, "If you rest well, there shouldn't be any major problems."

"How did this matter even alarm your criminal investigation team?"

Shen Xici stood by the bed. When he heard the news, he was still worried about whether Fu Xicheng was alright, after all, he knew that he had just been shot a few days ago.

He looked serious. “A shooting incident suddenly occurred in China. The higher-ups are taking it very seriously and have ordered us to investigate it thoroughly.”

Fu Xicheng knew very well who the mastermind was, and since they dared to provoke him, he would not show any mercy.

"Then investigate thoroughly, and it would be best to bring down all the people behind this." Shen Xici was about to say something when the knocking on the door sounded again.

He walked over and opened the door to the room.

If the investigation is thorough, he might have a chance for promotion next year.

"Mr. Fu, could we make a copy of the surveillance footage to take back with us?"

Fu Xicheng nodded. "I'll have the housekeeper copy that surveillance footage onto a USB drive and send it to you in a bit."

"Thank you for your help, Mr. Fu."

After the head of the investigation team left the room, Fu Xicheng asked the housekeeper to copy a copy of the surveillance footage for him from the monitoring room.

He went to the bedroom and watched as the police officers at the scene used binoculars to probe the distance, trying to reconstruct the sniper's location and movement.

Fu Xicheng quietly asked, "If there are no problems at the scene, can I send someone to clean up these glass shards?"

The head of the investigation team nodded. He put the bullet on the ground into a sealed bag, intending to take it back for further study and to see if there were any fingerprints left by the murderer.

After the police left, Shen Xici did not leave immediately.

Fu Xicheng has recently survived too many assassination attempts, so he kindly reminded him, "Be careful in everything you do lately."

Fu Xicheng leaned against the wall, relaxing his body. He cherished his life more than anyone else now, simply because he had not yet married Jiang Yuning.

He suddenly changed the subject, "Do you still remember Qin Shuwan?"

Shen Xici lifted his eyelids. He didn't seem to recognize the name much. He looked at Fu Xicheng and asked in confusion, "Who is she?"

Fu Xicheng smiled slowly. It seemed that Shen Xici hadn't contacted a woman who secretly loved him for a long time.

He vaguely remembered that when he was in school, Qin Shuwan liked to follow behind Shen Xici, but at that time, Shen Xici focused all his energy on studying and had no interest in paying attention to anyone.

Fu Xicheng said, "Your high school classmate, the little follower who used to follow you around."
