Chapter 161: I Saw a Place I Shouldn't Have Seen

Fu Xicheng's heart skipped a beat. He felt an unprecedented sense of tension. He quickly grabbed a bath towel and wrapped it around himself, covering his half-naked body.

Jiang Yuning walked over, her gaze falling on Fu Xicheng. She clearly saw the wound on Fu Xicheng's chest.

Her voice held a hint of anger, "Fu Xicheng, who told you to take a bath?"

Fu Xicheng's eyes were filled with shock, and his voice trembled slightly as he tried to hide his inner turmoil, "Who let you in?"

Jiang Yuning parted her lips slightly, her voice soft yet firm, "I walked in by myself. You're injured, why didn't you call someone to help you wash? If you stand here to shower, your wounds must get wet."

"Fu Xicheng, let me help you."

Fu Xicheng noticed that Jiang Yuning was staring into his eyes, seemingly unaware of the changes in his body.

His gaze lingered on Jiang Yuning's clear eyes, and he firmly refused her request, saying, "I can manage on my own."

Jiang Yuning looked up at his face. Perhaps because of the steam in the bathroom, his face wasn't as pale as before, but she was still worried about leaving him alone in the bathroom.

Jiang Yuning said firmly, "No, let me see your wound."

Jiang Yuning stepped forward, anxiously checking Fu Xicheng's wounds, and inadvertently ripped off the bath towel that Fu Xicheng was wearing.

Jiang Yuning had just seen something on Fu Xicheng's body that she shouldn't have seen. Feeling guilty, she touched her nose and hurriedly walked out of the bathroom.

Fu Xicheng sighed, a complex expression flashing across his eyes. Jiang Yuning really could take his life.

He tossed the towel aside and continued rinsing his body.

Jiang Yuning sat on the bed, recalling the scene she had just witnessed, and she felt that Fu Xicheng was not a normal person.

She felt flustered and incredibly embarrassed; she simply couldn't sit still any longer.

Jiang Yuning quickly stood up and walked out of the bedroom, intending to go out and cool off her flushed face.

She had just come downstairs when she bumped into Xu Yansheng, who was walking out of a room on the first floor.

Xu Yansheng asked in confusion, "Miss Jiang, why did you come down? Hmm, why is your face so red?"

Jiang Yuning wanted to disappear into the ground. She dared not look Xu Yansheng in the eye, afraid of revealing her inner turmoil.

Now she can only make up a reason, "I ran too fast just now and I'm all sweaty."

Xu Yansheng didn't think much of it; Jiang Yuning had indeed run into the villa just now.

He handed the phone to Jiang Yuning, smiled at her, and said, "There's nothing wrong with your phone."

Inside the room, Fu Xicheng had finished showering and was sitting on the bed, checking messages on his phone.

"Fu Xicheng, these are fruits I washed especially for you."

Fu Xicheng tossed his phone aside; with his girlfriend around, he had absolutely no desire to look at it.

There was a hint of a smile in his voice, almost imperceptible. "Are you trying to flatter me?"

Jiang Yuning sat down next to Fu Xicheng without saying a word, but instead offered him a kiss.

Her eyes were filled with deep affection. "Fu Xicheng, feel this with your heart. I care about you a lot, and I don't want to see you get hurt."

A hint of amusement flashed in Fu Xicheng's eyes. He deliberately brought up the past, but his eyes contained an undisguised doting affection. "Didn't you say you were going to kick me out?"

“That’s fake,” Jiang Yuning quickly clarified. She raised her hand, but when she saw Fu Xicheng’s still somewhat sickly face, she lowered her hand again.

Fu Xicheng was injured, so she absolutely could not hit him, not even lightly; she simply couldn't bring herself to do it.

Jiang Yuning explained, her tone slightly coquettish, "You know, I was just acting with him."

Fu Xicheng lowered his eyes, revealing a hint of grievance. He wanted Jiang Yuning to feel pity for him.

He would do anything to gain Jiang Yuning's affection.

"But you're holding his arm, Ningning, I'm jealous."

Jiang Yuning knew Fu Xicheng's character very well; he was endlessly jealous. However, considering he was a patient, she wouldn't hold it against him.

She tried to calm him down.

“What’s there to be jealous about? I just took his arm, that’s all. We didn’t do anything else. Besides, we have nothing to do with each other anymore.”
