Chapter 150 I Got in His Car

She looked up and raised her hand. "Director, count me in."

Director Wang nodded in satisfaction. "Good, everyone should learn from Xiao Jiang. Who else would like to go along?"

The meeting room remained completely silent.

“Since no one is volunteering, I’ll just designate someone. Designer Wang and Designer Li, you two will come with me.”

Director Wang anticipated they might refuse, so he simply said, "Meeting adjourned."

Jiang Yuning returned to her office. Since she was going to the branch office, she had to hurry up and finish her work.

Given that we're flying to Kyoto early tomorrow morning, Director Wang has made a special exception to allow the designers going to Kyoto to leave work two hours early.

Jiang Yuning did not stay in the office any longer; she planned to go home to pack her clothes and then draw design drafts.

She hailed a ride-hailing service, then walked out of the office building and waited by the roadside.

At that moment, a discreetly luxurious sedan drove up.

The car window slowly rolled down, revealing a strikingly handsome face in the back seat.

"Miss Jiang, I'm going the same way, I can give you a ride."

Jiang Yuning was about to refuse when she suddenly noticed a motorcycle speeding towards her from a distance. Remembering the terrible scene from a long time ago, she couldn't help but feel a little scared.

She opened the car door and quickly climbed into the back seat.

Pei Yanting remained calm, playing with the lighter in his hand without lighting the cigar.

"What do you think might happen to him? He asked me to come and protect you."

Jiang Yuning lowered her eyes, feeling that Pei Yanting was hiding something from her.

"Mr. Pei, I'd like to know what's going on with Fu Xicheng right now. Can you tell me?"

Pei Yanting narrowed his eyes, recalling that Fu Xicheng had specifically instructed him, and that he had asked him at the time, what if Jiang Yuning kept pressing him for answers?

He told him to figure it out himself.

He said, "Fu Xicheng doesn't want me to tell you."

Suddenly, she took out her eyebrow razor from her bag and held it against Pei Yanting's neck.

Her eyes instantly sharpened. "Are you going to talk or not? Should I have your driver take a picture, as evidence that I forced you?"

Pei Yanting laughed silently. Fu Xicheng asked him to protect his girlfriend, but his girlfriend was so fierce that he felt she didn't need his protection.

"Miss Jiang, that's enough."

Jiang Yuning put the eyebrow trimmer back into her bag, then looked at him expectantly. "Mr. Pei, please tell me quickly." Pei Yanting calmly told her the truth.

"He went back to Kyoto to clean up the company's internal staff and carried out a major reshuffle of the Fu family. You can think about it carefully; it must have touched the interests of some people."

"He's worried that someone in the Fu family might harm you."

Jiang Yuning understood everything, but she had just promised the director that she would go to the Kyoto branch to train new employees.

If she goes to Kyoto, wouldn't she be walking into a trap?

She planned to take it one step at a time, thinking things might not be as bad as she imagined.

He said, "We contacted each other via satellite phone."

"Mr. Pei, our company has made a last-minute decision to train new employees at our Kyoto branch, and my name is on the list."

Pei Yanting raised his eyebrows slightly and leaned back in his chair.

"I advise you not to go to Kyoto. If you do go, I can't guarantee your personal safety."

Jiang Yuning was not afraid at all. She believed that there was always a way to deal with a crisis. She wanted to see Fu Xicheng and make sure he was alright.

She went to Kyoto and stayed with her company people at all times; she didn't wander off.

"Mr. Pei, I have made up my mind."

Pei Yanting simply played with the lighter in his hand and didn't say anything.

At this moment, the driver chimed in, "Sir, there's a black sedan following us all the way."

Pei Yanting lowered his narrow eyes slightly, a glint of light flashing in them.

His eyes sharpened, his previous nonchalant demeanor completely gone. "Go to the outskirts and deal with them."

Jiang Yuning stared at him blankly, a look of shock flashing in her eyes. Pei Yanting said these things in front of her, wasn't he worried that she would leak the secret?

If she hadn't had such a close relationship with Fu Xicheng, she would have thought he might have killed her to silence her.

Her heart was in turmoil, but she remained calm on the surface. "Mr. Pei, I don't want to get involved in your dispute. Please find a place to drop me off."
