Chapter 144 A Chance Encounter, Letting Go of Oneself

As soon as Jiang Yuning arrived at work, she called Meng Shuyu out. The two of them went to an empty meeting room to discuss the design concept for Yuecheng Company.

The two of them would occasionally circle and mark in their notebooks, discussing various details.

Meng Shuyu began sketching on a blank A4 sheet of paper, and Jiang Yuning was just as focused on drawing.

Jiang Yuning smiled and reminded her, "Shuyu, don't forget about your brother who's always on the move."

"Yu Ning, today is a great time for us to release our stress and enjoy ourselves."

Jiang Yuning stretched her wrists and said softly, "It's better to be careful. If your brother really runs into you, you'll probably get a scolding."

"I reckon I won't run into him. My dad told me that my brother has been busy with business every day lately and doesn't have time to go out and have fun."

Meng Shuyu nodded. She had a clear plan in mind, but she didn't tell Jiang Yuning about it. If she revealed it now, there would be no surprise.

A glint of anticipation flashed in her eyes, "Tonight, my treat, let's dream of carefree happiness."

"Is it really okay to talk about this during work hours? Let's get on with the drawing."

She spent the whole morning drawing until her head was about to explode.

She glanced at her phone screen and realized there were less than ten minutes left before lunchtime.

"Yu Ning, a few more minutes won't make a difference. What would you like to eat for lunch? It's on me."

Jiang Yuning responded jokingly, "So generous? I'll have to think about it carefully."

Then she began to tidy up the drawings on the table, organizing them and putting them in a folder.

"Let's go back to the office first, and then we'll go eat when it's time to leave work."

Meng Shuyu readily agreed, and they returned to the office.

Soon it was time to leave work, and Meng Shuyu was overjoyed. She walked over to Jiang Yuning and took her arm.

Gu Xinghe looked up, rolled her eyes, and said defiantly, "You have the nerve to talk to me like that? Don't you eat alone too?"

Chen Yihua turned around, gave a soft snort, and her gaze toward Gu Xinghe changed several times.

“I’m not like you. I’ve never done anything to betray my friends.”

Hearing this, Gu Xinghe felt a pang of sadness, and her voice trembled slightly, "Do you think I wanted to do that? I had no choice."

She lowered her head and murmured, "Now I just hope that time can heal all wounds."

Chen Yi looked at Gu Xinghe not far away with some sympathy. She felt that she and Gu Xinghe were somewhat similar.

She stood up, walked over to her, and patted her on the shoulder. "Let's go, how about we go out for lunch together today?"

Gu Xinghe looked up in disbelief, her whole body stiff, standing there motionless.

"What are you still standing there for? Can't you see that everyone in our design department goes out to eat in pairs? Now it's just the two of us left in the design department. You're eating alone, so you might as well eat with me."

Gu Xinghe didn't expect that after what happened last time, someone would still talk to her.

She said in a low voice, "Thank you, Chen Yihua."

Meng Shuyu's laughter echoed in the air; she was thoroughly amused by Jiang Yuning.

She had booked a private room in advance. When she arrived, she picked up the tablet on the table and tapped the screen rapidly with her fingertips.

Jiang Yuning looked around the private room and found the decor to be quite nice. It was just a pity that it was a bar, and she definitely wouldn't come here again.

Just then, Meng Shuyu leaned close to her and said mysteriously, "Yu Ning, you'll be in for a treat in a bit."

Jiang Yuning: "???"

Jiang Yuning looked puzzled, but Meng Shuyu's words piqued her curiosity. "What do you mean by 'a feast for the eyes'? Explain it to me clearly."
