Chapter 694 Hehe, I will definitely survive!
"An extraordinary healing ability; this goes beyond the realm of biological explanation." Belisarius Doraemon's remaining eye gleamed as she observed Fugen's dissected forehead with keen interest, watching the brain tissue slowly spasming inside.
In the recent battle, Fugen was clearly pierced in the brain by the Maranthai Calamity, controlled by the Hive's will, but he miraculously healed himself in the blink of an eye, reviving on the spot as if he had suffered no harm whatsoever.
This was very strange and peculiar; Belissau Cole demanded that it be examined.
Fugan agreed, and he even allowed Belissau Caul to cut open his perfect forehead to examine the brain tissue that had been pierced.
Because Fugen also felt a growing sense of crisis, a sense that something was closing in on him, a sense that a decadent end was drawing ever closer. In the shadows, Fugen could even sense Fugorim's figure intertwining and merging with his own.
What chilled Fugen the most was that he himself felt no resistance to this interweaving and fusion.
A faint glow flickered from the six electrodes, stimulating Fugen's brain tissue to twitch continuously. An ordinary person would have already wept bitterly from this unbearable pain.
Fugen merely raised his eyes slightly and looked at Belisarius Caul.
"If it's not in the realm of biology, then what is it?" Fugen asked, but he already had a vague answer in his mind.
"It falls under the category of the subspace, or more specifically, the category of bio-alchemy created by the Emperor Om Messiah."
Belissau Caul removed the electrodes from Fugen's brain tissue and spoke to Fugen in a buzzing voice:
"I once read the Emerald Book written by the Emperor in his youth in the Black Library, and saw the prototype of bio-alchemy. I also communicated with Ohm Messiah and learned about some of the experiments conducted by the Martian Dragon back then."
"The Martian Dragon once attempted to merge humanity with the Warp, creating a race that existed in both the material and Warp dimensions. Just as he himself tried to become a god in both the material and Warp dimensions, he failed to do so, but instead repelled humanity from the Warp, creating the Untouchables."
"Then the Emperor of Man received part of the Martian Dragon's research and used it to complete the prototype of bio-alchemy, that is, the technology of reshaping or creating humans from the cellular level and even deeper levels through the subspace."
"This prototype alone shaped the Thunder Warriors, the Astartes, and the Custodians, but they were not the culmination of all the wisdom of bio-alchemy."
"The culmination of all the wisdom of bio-alchemy, is the Primarch?" Before Belisarius Caul could continue, Fugen understood what Belisarius Caul was trying to say.
"That's right. After obtaining the Blood Stack, I had a suspicion, and after obtaining Fabius Bayer's cloning technology, which was entirely based on biology, I became even more certain of it."
"The Martian Dragon once attempted to ascend from a god in the material universe to a god in the warp, but he failed."
"The Lord of Mankind did the opposite, and succeeded to some extent."
A few glints flashed in Belisarius Caul's eyes:
"Since it's not feasible for a god from the material universe to become a god from the subspace, why not do the opposite and let gods who haven't been born in the subspace be born in the material universe first?"
"Our Lord of Mankind has succeeded. With his genius-level wisdom, his extraordinary genetic sequence with that of the Primarch Mother, and in conjunction with bio-alchemy, he has successfully brought the unborn gods from the Warp into the material universe, where they were transformed into twenty-one infants."
“This is the Primarch.” Fugen’s expression shifted slightly. “The reason why the clone Primarchs created by Fabius are so far removed from the real Primarch is because they are merely biological products, clones of the twenty-one infants’ bodies, rather than warp gods who were guided into the material universe.”
“Indeed, you understand very quickly.” Belissau Caul stitched up the wound he had dug out of Fugen’s forehead. “But you are different now.”
“Hmm?” Fugen raised his violet eyes and looked at Belisarius Caul.
“I’m not sure when it started, and I’m not sure why it’s like this. Maybe it’s because Fabius Bayer made you too perfect.”
"Without a doubt, you are becoming a true Primarch, and a part of Forgrim is flowing into you."
“But I think you haven’t really taken that part away; rather, you’re becoming Fugrem.”
“He’ll come for you sooner or later; you can’t escape him,” Belissau Caul said, taking two steps back and shaking his head at Fugen.
“Is it possible?” Fugen said, “that I could defeat him and become the true Primarch.”
“I’m not sure.” Belissau Caul just kept shaking his head: “I even think that when you actually start to clash, it’s questionable whether there will still be a real distinction between you and him.”
Fugen fell silent, lowering his violet eyes slightly as he murmured to himself, "What is the perfect ending?"
"Magicprint Macard believed that the extreme pursuit of perfection inevitably leads to depravity, because humans can never achieve true perfection. The more one pursues perfection, the more one magnifies one's flaws. The inability to obtain perfection will inevitably consume one's own jealousy, leaving only depravity, filth, and darkness."
"Belissau Caul said in a calm and stern voice."
"is it?"
Fugen clenched his fist:
"Then just wait and see."
“I will surely snatch chestnuts from the fire, and good from the ashes; I will be reborn from the flames, Belisarius, for I am the phoenix.”
Fugen turned and walked out of the room toward the fortress where a battle was raging outside.
Belisarius Caul shook his head slightly. Just then, the Primal Forged Leader slowly walked up behind Belisarius Caul.
"Are you feeling any better?" Belisarius Caul turned to the Forged Leader and asked, "The effects of the first phase of treatment should be visible by now."
"Yes, the pain has subsided considerably, but..." Yuan Zhuzhi slightly extended his hand and squeezed it a few times.
After acquiring the technology to clone the Primarch, Belisarius Caul began to try to cure the Primarch's defects and heal the constant pain he suffered.
“But let’s stop here, Caul,” the Primarch said in a low voice. “I now believe that my innate flaw is not a curse, but a blessing.” “Think about it, Caul, you integrated the genetic sequences of twenty-one Primarchs into me. If I were without my flaws, if I were perfect, what would I be?”
"I can already see it vaguely."
The original leader lowered his head:
“I saw an angel, an angel named Destruction, imprisoned in a coffin, waiting to spread his wings and fly away to burn the world to ashes.”
"I saw a statue, a statue named for self-destruction, made of piled-up corpses, waiting to acquire a body and ravage this world."
"I saw a sun, a sun that uses darkness as fire, held high by suffering, waiting to be born into the world and end it."
“Cow, you told Fugen that pursuing a perfect ending would result in being burned to ashes. Knowing this, why did you still choose to get burned?”
“I never wanted to heal you because I was striving for perfection.” Belisarius Caul’s voice became somewhat weak.
After witnessing the state of Fugen, Belisarius Caul realized that he could no longer continue to heal the flaws in Fugen by making the Primal Head more perfect.
"You," the original leader of the Casting, raised his head slightly, looking at Belisarius Caul with some surprise.
“I will find other ways to heal you.” Belisarius Caul’s tone suddenly became impatient as he faced the gaze of the Primal Forged Leader.
He continued, "Now, go outside. I need to organize the materials I need for my research."
The Forged One did not move. He looked at Caul for a while, then gently opened his mouth and said, "I am very grateful for your efforts, Caul."
After saying this, Yuan Zhuzhi left the room.
Belissau Caul sighed deeply, feeling pained by his past arrogance and conceit.
With a barrage of bullets from his explosive pistol, Azrael moved with the agility of a black cat in the forest, weaving through the swarm of insects. A whistling bullet struck an executioner in the eye, from which thick biological fluid gushed forth.
The executioner let out a piercing roar, turned his target, and charged towards Azrael like a biological tank.
Harrel, standing beside Azrael, reacted with lightning speed. The veteran Black Shield flashed, his broad blade instantly slaying two blade worms. Then, he leaped into the air, the blade piercing the executioner's eye socket, torn open by the explosive bomb.
The executioner struggled violently, trying to shake off Herrell, but Herrell merely twisted the blade in his hand, precisely severing the executioner's central nervous system.
The executioner's massive body crashed to the ground. Herrell deftly drew his sword and swiftly dispatched the enemies who tried to pounce on him.
He was truly incredibly powerful. Azrael marveled at his brother's astonishing swordsmanship.
Even within the Dark Angels Chapter, there are few sword masters like this. Perhaps even in the history of the Dark Angels Chapter and the entire Empire, there are few swordsmen of such excellence.
Azrael couldn't help but compare Horel to Koswayne, the infamous swordsman in the Chapter's history, who had once pierced Conrad Coz's spine with a single blow.
Azrael shook his head slightly; such a legendary figure in history would likely be unmatched even by Horel.
Just then, Azrael heard a sharp, terrifying roar. A sense of dread washed over him, and he abruptly turned towards the direction from which the sound came.
He saw a Tyranid creature several meters tall standing on the horizon, amidst the swarm of insects. This Tyranid was slender and long, somewhat similar to Licat. Its carapace was semi-circular, covering its head. A ferocious, blood-red maw opened on its chest, and its upper limbs were a pair of scythe blades. But unlike ordinary Tyranids, this terrifying creature had two overlapping blades on each arm.
Azrael instantly recognized the behemoth as Tyrande's desperate killer, the Netherwing Beast.
While the appearance of the Nether Beast is somewhat similar to that of Ricard, and its role in the Zerg swarm is the same as Ricard's—to decapitate enemies—this monster lacks Ricard's elegance, stealth, and intelligence; it possesses only savage cruelty and terrifying bestiality.
His method of decapitation assassination was also quite simple and brutal. He would use his sharp blade to fight his way through the army, leaving a trail of blood behind him.
The blade cleaved through the air, instantly splitting an Astartes in two, its power armor and claws intertwined. Warriors around it tried to stop the Tyrande, but were all cleaved in two in an instant. The Tyrande continued its rampage, leaving a trail of blood and carnage in its wake.
A Leman Rustank was aimed at the Netherworld Beast, but the Netherworld Beast's reaction speed was far beyond what its size could allow.
He leaped up, stomping his foot on the Leman Rustank. His sharp blade swiftly sliced through the armor, easily killing the pilot inside.
Then the behemoth leaped down, continuing its carnage and expanding the chilling river of blood. Throughout the entire process, the speed of this Netherworld Beast did not decrease at all.
But soon, the giant beast encountered resistance.
His blade swung down, but this time he felt no cutting. A broad, thick greatsword blocked Hele's twin blades.
With a wild roar, the Netherworld Beast unleashed its two pairs of limbs and four sharp blades, weaving a net of swords at a speed imperceptible to ordinary humans.
But Herrell's sword-wielding speed was equally impressive, and he managed to fight the Netherworld Beast to a standstill for a short time.
Just then, the gaping maw of the Netherworld Beast opened, and its ferocious thorns shot out, aiming straight for Herrell's chest.
Azrael flashed forward, slashing his sword through the thorns, then drew the blade and aimed it straight at the Netherbeast's head.
But the Netherworld Beast moved slightly, then suddenly retreated, slashing at Azrael and Hellel with both hands, one on the left and one on the right.
Harrel and Azrael made almost identical movements, holding their power swords horizontally to block the fierce attack.
"Get out of the way." Just then, a voice rang out from behind Azrael and Horel.
Fugen's figure swept past the two men, his Brokensmith warhammer aimed straight at the enemy's head.
The Netherworld Beast had no time to react before its head shattered into a thick mass under the immense pressure of the Furnace Breaker's warhammer.
It was just a single blow.
Azrael and Horel were both momentarily taken aback by Fugen's power.
"Is it really a clone? It looks just like the real Fulgrim." Herrell muttered, his gaze towards Fulgrim becoming somewhat wary.
Azrael turned to look behind him, where the fourth fortress was being built by Mini-Dora.
In the distance, the tower forged from flesh and blood was clearer than ever before.
"It seems the war is going well!" Azrael thought to himself.
He might be able to end this war peacefully and escape without attracting the lion's attention!
Hehe, I'm sure I'll survive!
