Chapter 628 Alas! I never imagined I would be...
With a loud thud, Xerath's metal head was cleaved off by two raven-wing-like blades, landing on the ground with a clanging sound as it rolled across the smooth surface until it reached Thor's feet.

Clad in jet-black power armor and wearing a helmet resembling that of a typical raven, Astartes silently appeared within Xerath's headless body.

Xerath's heavy metal body crashed heavily to the ground.

The Raven Warden, Sarojin, had been hiding among the group since entering the World Engine, using Blindspot Star to wait for the crucial moment to strike. He then delivered a fatal blow to Xerath, giving Xerath no chance to retaliate.
But this is not the end. Xerath is a space necromancer who has a resurrection protocol in the world engine and will soon be able to reshape his body through the resurrection protocol.

"Have you found Xerath's resurrection protocol?" Zandreik asked Tarasin.

Tarasin's green eyes flickered constantly, as if calculating and searching for something.
His will was surging within the core of the world engine, searching for the resurrection protocol belonging to Xerath amidst the torrent of data.

But gradually, Tarachin's expression became increasingly strange.

The instant Xerath died, Tarasin's will forcibly took over Xerath's control and entered the World Engine. This was one of Tarasin's specialties; his will was omnipresent. Not only the World Engine, but even the bodies of other space undead were often inexplicably taken over by Tarasin.
It was precisely this skill that allowed Tarasim to move freely through the tombs of various dynasties, protecting those unclaimed and pitiful artifacts.
However, no matter how much Tarasin's will searched within the World Engine, it could not find Xerath's resurrection protocol. Even now, Xerath's will has not reappeared within the World Engine to compete with Tarasin for control of it, as if Xerath were truly dead.
"Could it be that his resurrection protocol is outside? Did he abandon the world engine and run away?"

Tarachin's expression gradually darkened; he realized a less than pleasant possibility.

"found it"

Talasin found a fragment of the Xerath Resurrection Protocol in a discarded hole in the data.
Xerath's resurrection protocol was broken long ago, even before the battle within the Dead Zone began.

Xerath's will had almost completely vanished, leaving only a lingering remnant of his obsession.

"I ascended."

"The fraudster."

Fraudster.
Click————

A crisp snapping sound suddenly rang out, and Xerath's head, which was beside Thor's feet, suddenly turned around and looked up at everyone present.

A look of sudden realization dawned on Xerath's face, followed by a mocking smile.

"Alas!"

"I never imagined I was actually the Star God's Deceiver!!"

A sharp, maniacal laugh rang out, and blinding golden light erupted from Xerath's head. The surrounding mountains of corpses and seas of blood instantly transformed under the light's illumination.
The corpses that had been tortured to death by Xerath stood up, their mouths twisted with gleeful smiles. They piled up together, their broken limbs malfunctioning repeatedly, as if welcoming a great theatrical actor onto the stage.

"Damn it!" Tarasin growled, realizing he had fallen into a mental rut.

Doraemon had warned them that a fraudster might exist. The two Saints beside the Silent King, the Silent King himself, Imotec, Xerath, and even many of the High Priests could all be fraudsters. The fraudster might randomly choose one of them to possess or replace, but most of these were ruled out. Finally, the message from Orikan confirmed that the fraudster was Hapsarast the Radiant.
However, after entering the World Engine, Tarachin's thinking seemed to be blocked, automatically ignoring the possibility that there might be more than one fragment of the fraudster active in the Exorcism Dead Zone.
A burst of light, as intense as a star, erupted forth, and a lithe, golden figure slowly emerged from the pocket dimension. The body, resembling a gilded marble statue, gently opened its arms and bowed slightly to the people before it, as if welcoming their arrival.

"Thank you all for visiting. Without your presence, the poor old fraudster would have been working overtime for who knows how long!"

"To commend you for seeing through the old fraudster's trick, I'll give you nine seconds to run away."

“One.” Tarasin, Zandrek, Obi-Ron, Thor, and Sharokin exchanged glances.
Tarasim was the first to realize the strength of the Deceitful Fragment.
This fragment was formed from at least nine fragments of the Deceitful Star God, reaching the strength of a Supreme Star God, far beyond their reach.
Without any hesitation, the group turned and retreated towards Zandrek's pocket dimension.

"Two." The Deceiver watched as everyone ran back into Zandrek's pocket dimension without making any attempt to stop them, as if he were truly rewarding them for seeing through his trick and letting them escape for nine seconds.

Only after Zandreuk and the others had disappeared from the Deceiver's perception did he slightly shift his gaze to the nine black stone spires beside him.
In just a few words, the fraudster planted a lie in the minds of Tarachin and the others; even letting them go nine seconds ahead was part of the fraudster's lie.

During his time transforming into Xerath and acting as Xerath, the conman discovered that lies involving the number nine were more believable. Although he didn't understand the underlying principles, he now deliberately associated his lies with the number nine.

The lies that the fraudsters instilled in their minds were the very things that led them to uncover the fraudsters' plot.

But in reality, the fraudster has already completed the entire cooperation agreement reached between the master of all transformations and the fraudster.

One tactic was to trick the Silent King into believing he was at a disadvantage in his battle against Doraemon, thus allowing Doraemon to subdue the space undead.
The fraudsters have completed all the tasks they were supposed to do in this mission.
The Lord of All Changes was secretly pushing Saint Doraemon to subdue the space dead, not out of kindness, but to trap Saint Doraemon in the web woven by Him and the Deceiver.

This is the second point.
The Deceiver and the Master of Change need to borrow Xerath's mind and use the Void Dragon's research on Blackrock obtained from the Silent King to complete the technology that the Void Dragon failed to complete: the technology of manipulating the warp currents by constantly flipping the polarity of Blackrock.

Unfortunately, Xerath saw through the deception, strongly expressing his disdain for the Warp and contempt for the deceptioner. The deceptioner was forced to steal Xerath's identity, his existence, and everything about him, becoming him in order to steal Xerath's wisdom and intellect to study the Blackrock.

Ultimately, based on the research of the Void Dragon, and with the combined minds of the Deceiver, the Alter, and Xerath, they fulfilled the Void Dragon's original fantasy, and could manipulate the Blackrock Spire throughout the entire galaxy through a chain reaction by simply changing the polarity of a single Blackrock Spire.

This is the trap set by the Lord of All Changes. As long as the Space Necromancers submit to Doraemon, the Black Spire technology they possess will inevitably fall into his hands.
If he attempts to deploy the Black Stone Spire array across the galaxy to suppress the warp, the Lord of Change can reverse the polarity of the entire Black Stone array, plunging the entire galaxy into the warp.

Furthermore, the Lord of Change promised that he would direct the warp currents flowing from Blackrock Spire toward the Deceiver, making the Deceiver a dual divinity of the warp and reality. However, the Deceiver was not a fool. Although He did not know much about the warp, He knew that this birdman was not that generous and was most likely just making empty promises to the Deceiver.

Fraudsters only ever have one thing on their minds.
The polarity of the Blackrock Spire that suppressed the warp was reversed, and ripples in the warp began to spread throughout this pocket dimension.
A twisted, deformed wizard, his body bulging with muscles, emerged from the ripples of the warp and bowed slightly to the deceiver:
"Great Deceiver, I am honored to see you complete the most crucial step in our great undertaking. The Great Lord of Change expresses his utmost respect to you."

"Where are my fragments?" The fraudster slightly raised his finger, a complex stream of information flowing through his hand—the technology the Lord of Changes desired.

The wizard smiled slightly and waved his hand gently. More than ten fragments of the Star God belonging to the Deceiver appeared and disappeared in the torrent of warp space.

The fraudster smiled slightly, and the torrent of information in his hand was pushed towards the wizard. The wizard kept his promise and pushed more than ten Star God fragments into this pocket dimension.

The smaller fragments that once belonged to the fraudster chuckled maniacally, swirling around him and merging one by one into his body.
The fraudster gradually felt that his connection with reality was becoming clearer, more distinct, and closer to complete. He could even clearly feel the fragments of himself scattered throughout the galaxy, and at his call, those fragments were flying towards him and beginning to merge with him.
"I look forward to our next collaboration." The wizard bowed respectfully, then stepped into the torrent of warp space and disappeared without a trace.

The fraudster chuckled a couple of times; he had planted a small trap in the Master of Changes' technology.
The technology itself is sound and absolutely feasible.

However, the fraudster secretly sent a fragment that had escaped into the outside world to the vicinity of several black stone obelisks once built by the Void Dragons, thus reversing the physical laws governing the area around those obelisks.

That was a very slight alteration, which would never be detected unless one had an unparalleled understanding of the structure of the real universe.

But that's how the laws of physics work; a deviation of a decimal point or a tiny constant can lead to drastically different results.
As long as the Lord of Change reverses the polarity of the Black Stone Array, all the warp currents summoned into the galaxy will flow towards one place.
The origin of humanity, Mars in the solar system, flows towards the Void Dragon, an old acquaintance of the Deceiver.
