Chapter 39 9?

It was an old woman.

Zhou Yun couldn't tell how old she was, but it looked like she was definitely too old to survive in Xiachao.

The woman's silver-gray hair was carefully twisted into a swirl, curling up behind her head.

Her eyes were not cloudy or dull like those of an old person, but rather had a kind of ever-changing spirituality.
His figure was a little hunched, but it was cleverly hidden under the light blue robe.
In the hand stretched out from under the robe, he held a cheap book with a black hardboard cover.

A complex nine-digit number was written in off-white ink on the cover of the book: 387, 420, 489.

This string of numbers is arranged in a spiral on the notebook, as if it is constantly rotating like a whirlpool.
But Zhou Yun really couldn't see any pattern in this string of numbers.

"Is this the actuary and mathematician you mentioned?" Zhou Yun looked at Lena and asked.

Reina's eyes looked a little dazed.

She murmured, "Mrs. Nama is so old. Her husband died early. I wonder how she lives alone."

Lena straightened her mind, looked at Zhou Yun and said:
"This is Mrs. Nama Karl. Her family has a long history, and each generation has worked as an actuary for a nobleman's factory."

"She has a good personality, is gentle and interesting to others, and likes to study mathematics for fun."

"Her husband died early, she never remarried, and she didn't have any children, but she loved children very much and often taught math to the children of her neighbors."

"She is a very good person, the only problem is that she often forgets to pray to the Emperor because she is so absorbed in studying mathematics."

"My mother has told her about this many times."

Reina's words were almost like a mutter, with unconcealable nostalgia in her eyes.

"The information channel you mentioned, is it you yourself?" Zhou Yun asked with a raised eyebrow.

Reina nodded slightly.

She looked at the street in front of her with undisguised nostalgia.

"I used to live here, in the ninth district of the Upper Nest."

"We are neighbors of Mrs. Nama and are devout Anglicans. My parents work for a nobleman in interstellar trade."

"Then I awakened my psychic powers, and the Black Ship was about to visit Asford. My mother let me escape from the Governor's troops who were collecting tithes from psychics."

Reina's expression became more complicated.

After a moment of silence, she suddenly raised her head and looked at Zhou Yun: "My mother is a devout Anglican. It is not a rebellious act for her to let me go."

"She knows that I have received the Emperor's inspiration, she knows my mission, she is here to help me fulfill the Emperor's will."

"Are you sure it's not out of pure maternal love?" Zhou Yun stared at Lena and suddenly spoke.

Reina stood there in a daze, as if she had never thought about this question before.

"Can maternal love be greater than faith?" Lena stared at Zhou Yun and asked, "How can faith be narrow?"

Lena's tone became sharp, as if Zhou Yun's words were humiliating her and her mother.

"I do not know."

Zhou Yun shook his head and replied:
"But can a father's love be greater than his love for humanity?"

Lena blinked, seemingly not understanding what Zhou Yun was saying.

In the field of vision that only Zhou Yun could see, the winged figure in the white light sighed almost bitterly.

"Does He love us? Me and all my brothers?"

The winged figure in the white light said with some bitterness in his tone:
“Even if He loves, He is too busy loving humans to have time to love His children.”

Zhou Yun glanced at him, and could sense the shattered humanity in his words.
But does this humanity belong to an archangel? Zhou Yun couldn't judge. He turned his head and looked at Reina, who was a little angry: "So, what's the plan?"

"I don't want to hurt Mrs. Nama nor do I want to draw too much attention to myself."

Lena looked at Zhou Yun and said:

"Since she's still in this neighborhood, that means she hasn't moved yet."

"To be on the safe side, let's follow her to confirm and observe her movements."

Lena looked at Nama Karl who was walking towards a building in the distance.

"Find a time when she is not at home and sneak into her house."

"If my memory serves me right, there should be a safe in her house, and inside the safe are the records we are looking for."

Lena looked at Zhou Yun, blinked her eyes and asked, "Can you handle it?"

"Simple." Zhou Yun said easily.

Sneaking into the home of an ordinary hive citizen and taking out a record from a safe is a very easy job.

However, Zhou Yun's caution still reminded him,
"387, 420, 489"

Zhou Yun muttered the complex number on Nama Karl's notebook.

There really seems to be no pattern to these numbers. Do I need to use some complicated mathematical formula to reveal their meaning?

"What?" Lena was stunned for a moment, then asked.

"What does this string of numbers written on the cover of Nama Karl's notebook mean?" Zhou Yun glanced at Lena and asked.

Reina frowned: "I didn't even remember that string of numbers, you have a really good memory."

Zhou Yun shrugged his shoulders. His memory was pretty good.

What really worries Zhou Yun is whether this string of numbers has some kind of "numerology" meaning.

It has nine digits and ends with nine.

But there are a lot of nine-digit numbers, and even more numbers ending with nine. It’s impossible that all these numbers are related to the Lord of Change, right?
But even if it couldn't be used as evidence, Zhou Yun still felt alert.

"Are you sure this woman is okay?" Zhou Yun asked Lena in a low voice.

If this woman is really a believer of the Lord of Change, Zhou Yun doesn't mind killing someone in the street.
After all, he had an appointment with the governor, and he wouldn't care about such a trivial matter as killing someone.

"My family are all devout believers. If Mrs. Nama had any problems back then, we would have reported her long ago."

Reina shook her head firmly and said,
But her tone changed slightly:
"It's just that I'm not sure if she has been corrupted in the past few years."

"You're not going to kill Mrs. Nama directly, are you? Just based on a string of numbers."

Lena looked at Zhou Yun with some horror in her eyes:
"You are suspected to be a little too extreme. You should at least find more reliable clues."

Lena's words made sense, but Zhou Yun's heart was filled with alarm bells. He felt more and more that something was wrong.
But if you ignore the problem and walk away, you might end up falling into the Lord of Change's plan.
He considered observing the woman first and meeting the governor before taking action.

If she really has a problem, report it directly to Governor Augustus Flax.

Although the governor did not care about government affairs, he would never allow a follower of Tzeentch to exist at his doorstep and threaten his safety.

In Zhou Yun's memory, the governor was a bastard and corrupt.
Yet it has never been corrupted by Chaos.

"387, 420, 489" Zhou Yun couldn't help but mutter the string of numbers again, trying to find some pattern.
