Chapter 475

Li Zhuiyuan's gaze fell on the golden statue of the Bodhisattva and the bronze mirror held in the arms of the two old monks.

The golden statue of the Bodhisattva is not made of gold. It contains a great deal of Buddhist thought, which is the result of countless eminent monks spending countless years chanting scriptures and reciting Buddha's name.

This object has unparalleled uses for the transmission of Buddhist teachings. It was brought out this time as a "physical body" to receive the Dharma body of a Bodhisattva.

Li Zhuiyuan had no interest in spreading Buddhism, but this golden statue of a Bodhisattva was of great use to him.

Take it back and place it in the South Passage Temple. When the temple is in operation, its Buddhist power can be used to suppress evil thoughts, calm the mind, and remove pollution.

It's important to understand that simple physical injuries are usually easy to treat, but the most difficult and time-consuming to deal with are the residual negative effects.

Runsheng's death, Lin Shuyou's ghost general, Tan Wenbin's spirit beast, A Li's backlash... all of them can be greatly alleviated under the bathing of this Buddhist thought.

It can be said that with this golden statue of the Bodhisattva, one's own practice site will become a sacred place for healing.

It seems that every time Zhao Yi finishes a trip, he'll have to bring his people to Nantong for a relaxing vacation first.

As for the bronze mirror, its surface was covered with clear blue-black patterns and engraved with layers of arrays, capable of creating endless variations.

The formation is not difficult, at least it is very simple for Li Zhuiyuan, but the success rate of making it is very low. The accumulation of each layer of the formation requires the combination of the right time and place, that is to say, it depends on luck and probability. If you are unlucky when accumulating a layer, all the previous layers will be wasted.

Only a powerful force with deep roots, combined with prayers for good fortune and the expenditure of vast amounts of manpower and resources, could create such a thing.

The two old monks carried it because they considered that the Bodhisattva could not completely leave the underworld, and they needed it to amplify the Dharma bodies that the Bodhisattva had separated.

If this bronze mirror could be embedded in the central hub of the South Daoist Temple, the operation and training effectiveness of the temple would be greatly enhanced. Li Zhuiyuan himself could study spells, formations, and perform various forbidden evil arts with twice the result with half the effort. At the same time, it would also make it easier for the young man to "teach" his companions in the temple in the future.

Nowadays, whether navigating the river on the water or from the shore, it's common to have advance information. So, the young people can use this information to simulate the situation they'll face in the next wave and get used to it before they even set off.

These two items, though not suitable for carrying along the river, are treasures if kept at home.

From today's perspective, the Bodhisattva's "conversion method" to Runsheng was a trap. However, Li Zhuiyuan also believes that if Runsheng fails to demonstrate the strong momentum after losing control, the Bodhisattva may actually take the act seriously.

However, considering that the Bodhisattva found his two lost items, this debt can be overlooked.

Abstaining from extravagance: "Li Zhuiyuan... Li Zhuiyuan."

Jiejian: "You're that Li Zhuiyuan!"

It's no wonder they only just remembered; sometimes, what we talk about most often is the one we're most likely to overlook.

Li Zhuiyuan continued to stroke the head of the armored clay figurine and nodded.

Jue Tong took out his Buddhist prayer beads, while Jue Yu flicked the magic wand.

He was solemn and dignified, refusing to indulge in extravagance or frugality.

The lay disciples behind them all looked puzzled. They were "handymen" who had been sent in advance and knew nothing about the secrets of the upper echelons of the martial arts world.

Jieshe: "Li Zhuiyuan, what are you doing here?"

At that moment, a figure emerged from the rooftop across the street, a cigarette dangling from his hand, its tip glowing brightly. His voice, like a booming bell, resonated powerfully.

"presumptuous."

Jie She pursed his lips. Today's events had clearly taken an unexpected turn, especially since the other party was from Jiangshang. The cause and effect were of great importance, and it was not appropriate to have a direct conflict.

The next moment, the elderly monk bowed to Li Zhuiyuan in respect:
“Senior, please forgive my rudeness earlier. I have been hearing about your deeds recently and am delighted that the two Dragon Kings’ sects have been revived. I never expected to see your true face here. I was so overwhelmed with emotion that I lost my composure.”

Jiejian: "Jiejian, a humble monk from Qinglong Temple, greets senior."

Jue Tong and Jue Yu, who had already taken out their weapons, immediately put them away and bowed to their two senior uncles.

The lay disciples behind were completely bewildered. How could this young man be a senior? But since their masters had reacted this way, they naturally followed suit, saying in unison:

"Greetings, senior!"

Li Zhuiyuan, as the current head of the Qin and Liu families, is of the same generation as the abbot of Qinglong Temple.

The boy raised his hand as a return gesture.

Jieshe: "Since you are here, senior, we juniors would not dare to disturb you. We will take our leave now."

The two old monks took the lead and turned around, followed by Juetong and Jueyu, and the other disciples also turned around.

In terms of reaction, it was quite quick, and they didn't mention the matter of invoking the Bodhisattva's Dharma body anymore.

However, just as they were about to return the way they came, a young figure emerged from the street below.

He chewed gum, his chin held high, his hands behind his head, gripping two golden maces behind his back, as if using them as a pillow, exuding a roguish air.

"Hey, I say, since we're already here, why are you in such a hurry to leave?"

This pose was specially designed by Lin Shuyou. He had rehearsed the words and tone in his mind many times, just to present the best effect at this moment.

Seeing this, Jieshe and Jiejian stopped and turned around, facing the coffin shop again.

Jieshe: "Senior, is there anything else you need to instruct us on?"

Jiejian: "Our Qinglong Temple has a long-standing friendship with Dragon King Qin and Dragon King Liu. If you have any needs, please give us your orders, and we will do our best to help you!"

Tan Wenbin's voice rang out from the rooftop: "My family head took over the two families hastily as someone from another family. The old lady of the family has not yet had a chance to tell my family head about the past. I apologize to everyone. We are not clear about this family relationship, and we dare not make any assumptions."

Li Zhuiyuan: "Stop being so rude."

Tan Wenbin: "Yes, I admit my guilt."

Li Zhuiyuan: "The two young monks went to great lengths to return the items that were stolen from my home to their rightful owner. We should treat them with courtesy."

Tan Wenbin: "The master is right. You two masters may now leave our golden Buddha and bronze mirror behind and depart. In the future, our family will surely repay you handsomely."

Those who abstained from extravagance and those who abstained from frugality twitched at the corners of their mouths upon hearing this.

They never expected that the head of the Twin Dragon Kings would be so straightforward, not even bothering to pretend anymore.

Jieshe forcibly suppressed his anger and said, "Senior, these two items are important treasures of our Qinglong Temple. They are not items that you have lost. I hope you will investigate further."

Tan Wenbin: "Master, the other party is not honest in returning the lost money, but intends to embezzle it."

Jiejian: "Senior, out of respect for the Qin and Liu families' Dragon King lineage, this humble monk addresses you as 'Senior.' I urge you to respect your status and refrain from engaging in any filthy or despicable acts, lest you tarnish the reputation of the Qin and Liu families in the martial world!"

Li Zhuiyuan nodded and said, "That makes sense."

Seeing that the other party had relented, Jieshe seized the opportunity and said, "Since that's the case, then we will..."

Li Zhuiyuan: "You two have embezzled the money, which is unworthy of you monks. As long as you both die here tonight, no one in the martial arts world will know, and it will not affect the reputation of Qinglong Temple."

Abstinence: "You brat, how dare you!"

Jiejian: "Those who bully those below them, seize by force, and murder for money—don't these scoundrels fear that Heaven will have eyes?"

Li Zhuiyuan gently tapped his temple with his fingertip and said:
"It was you who first tried to abduct minors."

Abstaining from extravagance and frugality: "..."

The other party isn't from Jiangshang, so a simple excuse will suffice. Besides, if you really need a suitable reason, Aunt Liu's account book clearly states it.

The two sides were enemies to begin with, but they were able to coexist peacefully on the surface for so many years because Grandma Liu had been forbearing and the other side was afraid of pushing Grandma Liu too far and causing a fight to the death.

Jieshe: "You brat, you are arrogant and presumptuous. You are unworthy of being the head of the family. Even if you can be arrogant for a while on the river, do you really think we are afraid of you?"

Jiejian, on the other hand, was more clear-headed and said loudly, "Namo Amitabha Buddha. Monks should be compassionate. It is truly outrageous of you, benefactor. We monks are forced to use our vajra!"

Jue Tong and Jue Yu: "We are willing to follow our uncle in subduing demons!"

The lay disciples behind them found the turn of events so swift and unbelievable, but they still quickly followed:
"It is our duty to vanquish demons and monsters!"

Jieshe: "You brat, you gave yourself this opportunity today, so don't blame this humble monk for acting on behalf of Heaven!"

Li Zhuiyuan said calmly, "This is a ghost town."

Jieshe: "Stop using your power to bully others. Don't think we don't know that the Emperor will no longer help you. Heh, this humble monk really wants to see what arrogant tricks you have left without the Emperor as your backer!"

Li Zhuiyuan nodded slightly. Zhao Yi had done a really good job.

Abstain from extravagance: "Awaken to enlightenment, ascend!"

Jue Tong's prayer beads emitted a Buddhist light, and Jue Yu's demon-subduing staff resounded with a powerful roar. The two rushed into the shop together.

Li Zhuiyuan, who was sitting in the chair, turned the armored clay figurine around.

In an instant, the boy inside the shop vanished, leaving Jue Tong and Jue Yu empty-handed, while outside, a thick fog blanketed the area.

Abstaining from extravagance: "A mere trick, nothing more!"

The old monk chanted a Buddhist mantra, and his eyes opened with a radiant light, scanning the surroundings. The thick fog immediately receded.

Immediately afterwards, he stepped forward, causing a halo of light to swirl around him, and emitted a soft hum:
"Discard all falsehoods!"

The thick fog churned and churned, clearly subjected to an extremely violent impact; however, to Jie She's surprise, the fog never dissipated.

Tan Wenbin's voice came from the mist, tinged with disdain:

“Old bald monk, you do have some skills, but that’s all you have.”

A high-ranking monk of such age is certainly not an ordinary person, but for him to attempt to break through the tomb owner's barrier by his own strength is really underestimating the tomb owner.

Jieshe: "This thick fog is strange."

Jiejian said, "He dared to wait for us here, so he must have already made arrangements to take advantage of the situation and kill him. That's not a safe bet."

Jielu: "But are you really willing to give up such a good opportunity?"

Jiejian said, "Don't forget what we're here for. If we can't do it tonight, we'll come back to guide the Bodhisattva later."

Even now, the two old monks only believe that Li Zhuiyuan's emanating Buddhist light is due to some trickery, and they haven't considered the other possibility at all. Because that possibility is really too outrageous, so outrageous that even the Bodhisattva is embarrassed to speak of it directly.

Abstain from extravagance: "Awaken to enlightenment, withdraw!"

Jue Tong and Jue Yu obeyed the order, but just as they were about to step out of the coffin shop, the threshold of the coffin shop suddenly extended rapidly.

In the blink of an eye, this small, unassuming coffin shop became incredibly long and narrow.

Jie She: "This kid has already set up the formation here!"

Li Zhuiyuan's voice came from the shop next door:

"I told you, this is a ghost town."

He can even change the locks of the Ghost Gate, and so far, the Great Emperor has not made any changes to the Ghost Gate, so the formation of this Ghost City is naturally as before.

In the ghost city, Li Zhuiyuan didn't need to set up any formations in advance.

Next door, Jue Tong smashed a stick against the wall.

"boom!"

The wall collapsed.

However, the boy who had spoken earlier was nowhere to be seen inside; instead, a thick black aura emanated from it.

"Da da da……"

A tall, robust figure walked out from inside step by step.

Jue Tong: "This is..."

Jueyu: "Die?"

Runsheng has not fully regained consciousness and remains in a dazed state.

But when the boy's voice rang out again:
"Runsheng, kill them."

A red light immediately flashed in Runsheng's dark eyes.

"Buzz!"

Jue Tong and Jue Yu felt a gust of wind rushing towards them, and the two immediately scattered to the sides.

Runsheng missed his target.

Jue Tong flung out his prayer beads, and a beam of Buddhist light struck Run Sheng, causing the black aura on his body to dissipate rapidly.

Jueyu swung his staff, and Runsheng instinctively raised his hand to block. Jueyu quickly changed his move, turning the strike into a whip, first hitting Runsheng's back, and then pressing down with the momentum.

Runsheng was forced to kneel on one knee due to the immense pressure.

These two middle-aged monks were already highly skilled, while Runsheng could only fight on instinct. As soon as they started fighting, he was at a disadvantage.

However, this is also the situation that Li Zhuiyuan wanted to see. Runsheng's self-awareness has been awakened by himself, and this high-intensity battle can help Runsheng recover faster.

Jue Tong crossed his hands and held up the prayer beads. A small pagoda appeared and once again pressed down on Run Sheng.

Jueyu focused his energy in his dantian and wielded the staff with immense force, intending to completely subdue Runsheng.

But suddenly, a wave of energy struck, and Jueyu found that the stick he was pressing down on the other person was forced to slide off course. The dead body leaned forward and then quickly stood up, turned around and threw a punch. The black energy on his body roared ferociously, shattering the golden pagoda.

Jueyu: "This death is not simple!"

Jue Tong: "Don't hold back, come again!"

The two monks joined forces again, one engaging in close combat while the other unleashed a Buddhist seal.

Runsheng was suppressed again, but then broke free once more.

The two monks could see the advantage, but they were unable to achieve the desired results for a long time.

In a short period of time, after several rounds of exchanges, Runsheng no longer waited for his opponent to make the first move as before, but instead took the initiative to throw a punch at Jueyu, who swung his stick to meet the attack.

"boom!"

Runsheng retreated, while Jueyu slid backward, finally stopping his retreat by rubbing the Demon-Subduing Staff against the ground, which produced a string of sparks.

The force of this punch was clearly much greater than before.

Jueyu's gaze sharpened: "Qin Clan's Observation of the Dragon Technique!"

Jue Tong chanted the true scriptures, his mouth uttering lotus flowers, and invisible halos of light bound towards Run Sheng's head.

This is the Qinglong Temple's "Crossing Away Calamity" technique, which can cause one's soul to become scattered and one's mind to go insane.

Runsheng tilted his head, scratched his head, and felt an itch on his scalp.

He seemed to remember something and spread his hands.

Inside the broken wall next door, a Yellow River shovel was seized by a burst of energy and brought into Runsheng's hand.

The black energy around Runsheng was no longer scattered and disordered, but rather emanated in an orderly manner, following nine rhythmic patterns. His aura became more solid, and a powerful pressure was evident.

Thanks to the offerings stolen by Yin Meng, Run Sheng was able to activate his physical abilities. As he continued to recover, when he was fully awake, he would be even stronger than when he was in the Little Hell.

Jueyu: "We cannot fight the Qin family."

Jue Tong stopped his charitable work and shook his head: "We can't chant sutras for the Qin family either."

Runsheng raised the Yellow River shovel and took a step towards Jueyu. Jueyu immediately raised his Demon-Slaying Staff. As a result, Runsheng pushed off the ground with his foot and his body retreated rapidly. At the same time, he turned around and smashed the Yellow River shovel towards Juetong, who was good at casting spells.

He began to understand how to fight.

Outside the store.

Red lanterns appeared in front of all the shops on both sides of Ghost Street. The red lanterns floated upwards and into the air, transforming into blood-red eyes that looked down.

On the rooftop, Tan Wenbin took a drag of his cigarette, flicked the ash with his fingertips, and exhaled a smoke ring downwards.

Jieshe reacted swiftly, lifting his robe and tossing it into the air, blocking Tan Wenbin's sensory temptations.

He rushed downwards, abandoning his frugality.

Lin Shuyou drew his double maces, revealing the Ghost General's mark beneath his forehead ribbon, and sped off.

The two sides clashed rapidly in the thick fog.

The monk held a golden statue of a Bodhisattva in one hand and no weapon in the other. He caught Lin Shuyou's golden mace with his bare hands and not only did not lose the upper hand, but actually gained the advantage.

Keep in mind that the opponent was still under the suppression of the thick fog and the blood-red eye above their head. Sure enough, experience counts.

Lin Shuyou showed no fear whatsoever; on the contrary, he became more and more excited as the fight progressed. How boring it was to smash someone with a single blow; it was much more interesting to spar with a true powerhouse!
While observing the changes in the surrounding environment, Monk Jiejian suppressed Lin Shuyou. The sharpness of the young man's movements and strength made him very nervous. However, excessive strength is easy to break. Such an aggressive and uncompromising fighting style will soon exhaust him. Monk Jiejian was waiting for the opportunity when his opponent was briefly exhausted so that he could strike a fatal blow.

However, as the fight went on, Monk Jiejian noticed something was wrong. Why was this kid maintaining the same rhythm all this time without showing any signs of exhaustion?
The monk Jieshe ordered his lay disciples, "Charge that way!"

He needs these disciples to scout ahead, find a loophole in the fog, and seek an opportunity to break through the barrier.

The disciples rushed upwards.

A girl's figure appeared in the thick fog ahead.

The girl held a blood-stained porcelain bottle in her arms and slowly raised her head.

He loosened his grip, and the blood-stained porcelain bottle fell to the ground. It didn't shatter, but instead spilled out like mercury.

Ah Li raised her right hand, and a figure rose from the mercury—it was the form and spirit of Bo Qi, and also the Dream Ghost.

"Hehehe...hehehe..."

The dream demon laughed.

All the lay disciples who were about to rush forward collapsed to the ground, their bodies limp and unconscious.

Monk Jieshe lost his balance and staggered. He immediately bit his tongue and shook his head vigorously. Golden lines appeared on his face, giving him the appearance of a fierce Vajra.

"The arising and ceasing of conditions lead to the transformation of the physical body into a Buddha!"

The group of lay disciples, who had been in a coma, suddenly died from heart failure. Then, a Buddhist seal appeared between their eyebrows, and they stood up straight, finally charging towards Ah Li like a Vajra in Buddhism.

"Crash..."

Metal playing cards flew out of Ah Li's pocket and landed in front of her, revealing the two generals of increase and decrease.

"Official general, evil monk, you only kill, you don't save!"

The hall in Fengdu Shaojun Mansion where the spirit tablets of the two generals Zengsun and Shen are enshrined has not yet been completed, but the Zhao family, who are extremely efficient, have already set up the formation according to Li Zhuiyuan's plan. The Buddhist evil spirits were brought into the formation and began to behead and sacrificed.

The two generals, Zeng and Sun, shone with a great deal of Buddhist light. Their armored bodies made a few scraping sounds as they bore the surging power, but they were still usable for the time being.

These lay disciples were killed by Jieshe and then refined into Buddhist guardian Vajras who could ignore the influence of dream ghosts. However, when his Vajras faced the opponent's puppets, they were immediately subjected to a one-sided massacre.

Finally able to say goodbye to the two cheerleaders who had contributed to the team's success, they cherished this opportunity to fight head-on, and their moves were ruthless and merciless.

This ghost street is the point where they were officially left behind by the White Crane Boy, the one where they paved the way for the Bodhisattva; now, it is also on this street that they yearn to prove themselves again!
The edge of the ghost town's dock.

In the river, the monk Yayoi floated up.

When he learned that the temple had sent people to Fengdu to receive the Bodhisattva's Dharma body, he felt that something was wrong, because he had personally witnessed the Buddha vying for favor with that young man.

The monk Yayoi's left eye shone with Buddhist light, while his right eye overflowed with demonic energy, allowing him to see through the calm ghost street the thick fog, bloodshot eyes, and streaks of tragic light and shadow.

"If the one imprisoned beneath the tower is a demon, then how could the one suppressed in hell be a Buddha?"
