Ji Shiqing stared at Yan Yi, his expression changing repeatedly, a truly fascinating display. But in the end, he couldn't bring himself to actually do such a thing, nor could he hide back in the bathroom. He could only turn around and sit on the sofa, taking the bed sheets and duvet covers that Tang Xu had brought out and folding them over and over.

Yan Yi watched his movements and chuckled, "You really know your way around here. You're definitely a regular here, aren't you?"

"So what?" Ji Shiqing retorted, sticking his neck out.

Yan Yi raised an eyebrow and simply said, "You're quite clever. You know where your uncle's heart lies and how to make good use of it. Since you have such a good relationship with this Miss Tang, I'm sure your uncle will treat you better."

Upon hearing this, Ji Shiqing suddenly sneered and said, "Yes, they've all been very good to me. Are you satisfied now?"

“What do I have to be satisfied with or dissatisfied with?” Yan Yi said. “This is your life. How you choose and what path you take is up to you. I have no intention of interfering.”

Yan Yi spoke with such confidence that Ji Shiqing's eyes suddenly darkened again. He then impatiently put down what he was holding and asked, "What exactly do you want?"

“I didn’t intend to do anything,” Yan Yi said. “I just wanted to see you. Now that I’ve seen you and Miss Tang, I can say that my plan has been successfully completed.”

Ji Shiqing lowered his eyes, and upon hearing this, he sneered again, saying, "The plan is complete, you can leave now, right?"

“That was true originally,” Yan Yi said. “But now I suddenly want to stay a little longer. Is that a problem?”

"Stay as long as you like!" Ji Shiqing said, standing up.

Yan Yi originally thought he was leaving, but unexpectedly he went straight to the small room inside, raised his hand and knocked on the tightly closed door, saying, "Song Luobai, I need to borrow a book from you, can you open the door?"

About ten seconds later, the door slowly opened.

When Yan Yi peeked out, she saw Ji Shiqing slip into the room and then slam the door shut again.

Yan Yi shrank back at the sound of the door opening, but the next moment she simply shrugged without any emotional fluctuation.

Song Luobai, equally annoyed by the sound of the door opening, stood by the bed with his arms crossed, looking at Ji Shiqing with a slight frown. He seemed to want to say something, but swallowed his words and ultimately said nothing. He simply lay back down on his own bed and continued playing games on his phone.

Ji Shiqing didn't say anything. He pulled out a chair from the desk at the foot of his bed, sat down, picked up a book from the desk, and silently began to read it.

On the other side, Tang Xu also heard the noise and came out of her room, only to find Yan Yi alone in the living room.

Tang Xu turned her head and glanced at Song Luobai's room, then couldn't help but ask, "Did he go in?"

"Hmm," Yan Yi responded, seemingly unconcerned.

While Tang Xu was still marveling at this spectacle, she suddenly heard Yan Yi say, "I'm a little hungry. Let Feng Yan go buy something so we can eat together."

Tang Xu was taken aback. Before she could answer, Yan Yi stood up and walked to the door. She opened the door and gave a few instructions to the man outside.

The man named Feng Yan responded and quickly went downstairs to buy things.

Yan Yi turned around, smiled at Tang Xu, and said, "Sit down for a while, there will be food soon."

Tang Xu couldn't help but feel a little dazed—whose house is this anyway?

Yan Yi naturally returned to the sofa and continued flipping through the alumni directory that had previously piqued her interest.

Faced with this situation, Tang Xu felt helpless, but also much more at ease. Yan Shiyu had just replied to her message, saying he would be there soon.

If it were the old Tang Xu, she would have been happy to be friends with Yan Yi; however, she has too many things to worry about now, and she is not sure if the woman in front of her will also become one of her concerns, so she can only face her with caution.

Yan Yi, who was now in charge, was much more relaxed. She flipped through Tang Xu's alumni directory, pointing to people she was interested in and chatting with Tang Xu as if they were old friends who could freely share all their life experiences and secrets.

Tang Xu barely managed to hold on, and only breathed a slight sigh of relief when she finally heard some movement at the door again.

When she stepped forward and opened the door, she found that Yan Shiyu and the man named Feng Yan were standing at the door at the same time.

Yan Shiyu seemed to know Feng Yan's identity, and didn't give him a second glance. He simply gestured for Gao Yan to take the things from Feng Yan's hands.

Feng Yan smoothly handed the items to Gao Yan and then stood aside again.

Yan Shiyu entered the room, reached out and grasped Tang Xu's hand, and exchanged a glance with her.

Seeing that Tang Xu's expression was normal, Yan Shiyu pulled her straight into the house.

Yan Yi leaned back on the sofa in a very relaxed posture and waved to Yan Shiyu, "Long time no see."

"What are you doing here?" Yan Shiyu asked directly.

“I came to see Ji Shiqing,” Yan Yi replied matter-of-factly.

“Then you should have already seen it,” Yan Shiyu said. “You can leave now.”

"That would have been fine, but I'm too hungry to walk," Yan Yi said. "Since we're already here, let's grab a late-night snack together."

As she spoke, she stood up and looked at Gao Yan, who was standing blankly at the door with the food in his hands. "Bring the food over here, it won't taste good if it gets cold."

Gao Yan glanced at Yan Shiyu's expression, but after being urged by Yan Yi repeatedly, he finally stepped forward and placed the food he was carrying on the dining table.

Yan Yi pulled out a chair and sat down, then smiled at the two people in front of her, "Since we're all family, I won't stand on ceremony. Are you sure you don't want to eat something?"

As she spoke, she picked up a piece of chicken with her hand and put it in her mouth. "Delicious!"

Yan Shiyu seemed too lazy to pay attention to her. He reached out to lead Tang Xu into the room, but Tang Xu grabbed him and shook her head slightly. With a little effort, she pulled him to the dining table and sat down opposite Yan Yi.

Yan Yi saw the subtle interaction between the two, chuckled, and said without any restraint, "Miss Tang is amazing. This is the first time I've seen someone who can hold him back."

Yan Shiyu glanced at her, "Yan Yi."

The slightly warning tone seemed to imply something.

Tang Xu turned to look at him, then smiled slightly and said, "I thought you two weren't very familiar with each other."

“We weren’t very familiar with each other at first,” Yan Yi said. “But after getting to know each other, we gradually became familiar. Just like you and Miss Tang, we gradually became quite close, right?”
