The background sounded very quiet on Yan Shiyu's end, but his breathing was not as steady as usual; he seemed to be adjusting his breathing while answering the phone.

When he answered the phone, Tang Xu was a little taken aback. After a pause, she asked, "Are you busy?"

Tang Xu hesitated for a moment, "Nothing happened, right? I heard it's in complete chaos over at Gao Yan's place..."

"It's nothing," Yan Shiyu said simply. "I'll tell you when I get back."

Since he had already said that, Tang Xu didn't ask any more questions. Just as she was about to reply "okay," she suddenly heard a woman's voice coming from the phone—

"Can we continue?"

Yan Shiyu didn't say anything more, only told her "Wait for me" and then hung up the phone.

Tang Xu held her phone, sat quietly on the bed for a moment, and then lay back down on her pillow.
