Chapter 30 You gave yourself to Young Master Yan?

The young man raised an eyebrow slightly. "How many do you want?"

“A lot.” Tang Xu leaned back in his chair, adopting a nonchalant attitude. “I’m very poor, I can’t agree to your request if it’s not enough money.”

"Okay." The man readily agreed. "Any amount is fine, as long as it's worth it, I'll give it to you, alright?"

Tang Xu nodded and immediately climbed from the driver's seat to the back seat. "Then you drive, and pick a place you like."

The man did as instructed, opened the car door, got into the driver's seat, started the car, and drove away.

Tang Xu was feeling extremely unwell and was curled up motionless in the back of the car, almost falling asleep, when she suddenly felt the car swerve sharply, nearly throwing her off her seat.

"Can you drive?"

Tang Xu finally managed to straighten up, and the next moment, the car sped along the night road.

Tang Xu was about to throw up again and frantically patted the back of the seat to make him stop the car.

“There’s a car following us. But don’t worry, I’m a great driver, I’ll definitely shake him off.”

"You haven't even shaken him off yet, but you've already driven me crazy... Stop the car!"

Seeing that Tang Xu was in real pain, the man had no choice but to step on the brakes and pull over to the side of the road.

The car stopped by the cross-river bridge at night. Tang Xu practically rolled off the back seat, stumbling and falling against the guardrail, tumbling and rolling around.

Behind them, a black Phantom also slowly pulled over and stopped.

"Wow!" The man who got out of Tang Xu's car glanced at the car behind him. "Trying to race me with a Rolls-Royce, I guess I've got some prestige now!"

The rear door opened, and the driver, Wen Qing, hurriedly got out of the car. He glanced warily at the man before rushing towards Tang Xu's location.

The man remained standing there, staring at the dark, shadowy Phantom.

"Miss Tang, are you alright?"

Tang Xu finally calmed down a bit, waved her hand, and raised her pale face to look at him, "What are you doing here?"

“I…” Wen Qing hesitated for a moment before saying, “I saw this man get into your car in the parking lot, and I was worried something might happen, so I followed him all the way…”

Upon hearing this, the man standing to the side finally looked away and glanced in their direction.

Tang Xu couldn't help but laugh out loud, and after a while, she said, "Thank you, but don't worry, he's my friend..."

Wen Qing was stunned. "Friend?"

“Yes.” Tang Xu sat down on the ground and glared at the man next to her. “A heartless friend who doesn’t care about my life or death at all.”

Lu Xingyan, who had been standing facing the black Phantom, finally turned around after hearing Tang Xu's evaluation of him, took a bottle of water from the car, and walked over.

Tang Xu took the water he handed her and turned her face away to rinse her mouth.

Seeing this, Wen Qing stood up, silently observed the situation between the two, and said, "I'm sorry, I misunderstood."

Lu Xingyan raised an eyebrow and smiled, "Nowadays, most people are indifferent to things that don't concern them, but you are a kind-hearted person, which is rare."

After saying that, Lu Xingyan glanced at the car again without realizing it.

Wen Qing did not respond, but lowered his head and said, "Then I won't disturb you two any longer."

After saying that, he turned around and hurriedly walked towards the car.

Lu Xingyan kept staring at him until Tang Xu turned around and said to him, "Can you stop looking at me? I'm dizzy. Don't make me look up at you."

Upon hearing this, Lu Xingyan immediately sat down on the ground with her.

Seeing Tang Xu's pale face and disheveled hair from vomiting, Lu Xingyan sighed softly and reached out to tidy her hair.

Tang Xu slapped his hand away, buried her face in her arms, and looked him up and down with one eye.

Lu Xingyan let her look at him.

Tang Xu started laughing as she watched.

"How long has it been since we last saw each other?" she asked.

"Five years and three months." "Lu Xingyan, you seem to have become more handsome."

"Really?" Lu Xingyan dusted off his shoulder and asked casually, "What about the person in the car?"

Upon hearing this, Tang Xu looked in the direction of the phantom.

Wen Qing had been on the bus for some time when it finally started moving again, gradually merging into the traffic and disappearing from sight.

Tang Xu then looked away and asked, "How did you know there was someone in the car?"

"It's a feeling," Lu Xingyan said.

"What does it feel like?"

"The feeling of having thorns in one's back."

Tang Xu chuckled, leaned back against the railing, and, still feeling uncomfortable, closed her eyes again.

After a long while, I finally heard her voice again—

"You finally decided to come back? I thought you wouldn't care about me anymore..."

For more than five years, Lu Xingyan had been living abroad until three months ago when Tang Xu called him for help.

Three months later, he finally showed up.

"If I hadn't come back, I wouldn't have known you'd gotten yourself into this state! Was it worth it?"

Tang Xu sighed softly, "To gain something, you always have to pay a corresponding price. In a world of equal exchange, what isn't worth it?"

"Tang Xu!" Lu Xingyan seemed somewhat annoyed. "You are a person, not an object to be exchanged!"

“But besides myself, I have nothing,” Tang Xu said. “What do you think I can use to fight for anything other than myself?”

Lu Xingyan's expression darkened even more instantly.

"But things are different now." Tang Xu suddenly reached out and hugged him. "Now that you're back, you're my support—"

“Then you should go find that person in the car just now,” Lu Xingyan said. “I don’t have the ability to compete with people of that level.”

Tang Xu leaned on his shoulder, slowly opened her eyes, and looked at the rolling traffic in front of her.

After a long silence, he only sighed softly, "He's so difficult to deal with... unlike you, who's much easier to handle!"

Lu Xingyan reached out and twisted her ear hard.

Tang Xu cried out in pain repeatedly before he let go.

Lu Xingyan sneered, but couldn't help asking, "Who's in the car?"

"Yan Shiyu, the third young master of the Yan family."

Do you think he will help you?

Tang Xu leaned against the railing and slowly looked up at the sky.

"I don't know, we'll see."

……

The next day, Lu Xingyan and Tang Xu appeared together at the Song family.

All of Song's relevant materials and documents were handed to Lu Xingyan.

Lu Xingyan was surrounded by a pile of messy documents, her brows furrowed. "Your company is a complete mess. Even a god couldn't save it!"

“That’s why I don’t count on the gods,” Tang Xu said. “I’m counting on you. Only you can help me with these things that I’m not good at.”

Lu Xingyan thus became Tang Xu's "handyman" and was stationed at the Song family for a long time.

After the first month of the lunar calendar, Tang Xu received an invitation to the South City Golf Tournament from Jiang Bei Heng.

She abandoned the newly hired handyman and boarded a plane to the south of the city.
