Chapter 270 Sincerity

Chapter 270 Sincerity
The moment Tang Xu realized this, a chill silently crept into her heart.

Meng Liancheng, is this what you're planning?

On the surface, they invited her to discuss the terms of the Song family's house, but their real purpose was to try and find out who was involved with her.

The connection between Jiang Muchen and her was all too obvious, but what he truly wanted to uncover was a deeper secret...

Even though she no longer had any secrets, Tang Xu still felt a chill run down her spine.

While she was still lost in her own thoughts, Meng Liancheng had already walked towards the gate and met Jiang Muchen.

Looking at the door that Jiang Muchen had flung open, Meng Liancheng laughed, "Mr. Jiang, isn't this a bit too much of a show for us?"

After seeing Tang Xu standing unharmed behind him, Jiang Muchen lowered his head to brush off non-existent dust from his body before glancing at Meng Liancheng.

"I heard this house has been sold. So you're the new owner," Jiang Muchen said slowly. "I accidentally stepped on the gas a little too hard. Name your price."

Meng Liancheng listened with his usual smile and said, "Mr. Jiang is a distinguished guest who is so important that we can't invite him even if we try. What is a little accident compared to that?"

Jiang Muchen glanced at him after hearing this, and said, "I'm interested in visiting any place that isn't just for certain people."

After saying that, he picked up a check between his fingers, as if he had prepared it beforehand, and threw it directly in front of Meng Liancheng.

Then, Jiang Muchen walked straight towards Tang Xu.

Despite being trampled and humiliated by Jiang Muchen, Meng Liancheng's expression didn't change, nor did he pick up the check. Instead, he turned around and looked with interest at the divorced couple behind him.

As Jiang Muchen walked toward Tang Xu, he glanced around the villa.

He was told that no one else had entered the room except for Meng Liancheng and Tang Xu.

It seems that there are indeed only the two of them.

But the more this was the case, the less at ease he felt.

Walking up to Tang Xu, Jiang Muchen's gaze fell heavily on Tang Xu's face, and he only said one sentence: "Come with me."

Tang Xu stood there, showing no intention of leaving, only coldly staring at him, "What's wrong with you?"

Jiang Muchen didn't seem to intend to say much to her. He reached out and grabbed her wrist, intending to pull her away.

Tang Xu suddenly pulled her hand back and took a few steps back to prevent him from touching her again.

Jiang Muchen's face instantly darkened. He stared at her for a moment, "So... you're planning to spend some quality time with him here?"

"All I know is that being with anyone is better than being with you," Tang Xu said slowly.

Seeing this, Meng Liancheng, who was watching the scene from behind, couldn't help but lower his head and smile slightly. Jiang Muchen tried his best to control his emotions, but when he spoke again, his voice was still tinged with anger: "Tang Xu, do you even have a brain?"

"Whether I have it or not, whether it was in the past or now, what does it have to do with you?" Tang Xu met his gaze. "Jiang Muchen, you had no right to interfere with me in the past, and you have even less right now."

Jiang Muchen stared at her intently for a long time before slowly saying, "Tang Xu, don't be ungrateful."

“I’ve always been ungrateful,” Tang Xu said. “Did you only realize that today?”

Seeing the two locked in a standoff, Meng Liancheng slowly stepped forward, gently patted Jiang Muchen's shoulder, and said, "Mr. Jiang, don't be angry. You know what kind of person Tang Xu is—"

Before he could finish speaking, Jiang Muchen disgustedly pulled away from his touch, looking at him coldly, her anger clearly directed at him, "Meng Liancheng, I warned you before, stay away from her."

Meng Liancheng shrugged helplessly and said, "Tang Xu and I are just ordinary acquaintances. We just meet and have a meal together... Besides, Mr. Jiang is no longer Tang Xu's husband. Do you have to care about that?"

Upon hearing this, Jiang Muchen's face stiffened for a moment, then he actually curled his lips into a cold laugh.

"Meng Liancheng, you asked for this."

After saying this, he glanced back at Tang Xu, then turned and walked straight toward the main entrance.

The car that had crashed through the gate was still parked there. Jiang Muchen walked straight past the car, got out, and disappeared from Tang Xu's sight.

Meng Liancheng followed Jiang Muchen out the door with the air of a host, watching him get into another car parked outside, and even waved with a smile, "Take care, Mr. Jiang."

Jiang Muchen sat in the car, staring at him with a cold gaze until the car turned around and drove away.

Meng Liancheng then returned to the house, looked at Tang Xu, and smiled, "I can tell he really cares about you... so why are you so stubborn?"

Tang Xu then put down his wine glass and said, "If I hadn't been a little stubborn with him, how would Mr. Meng have had a chance to take advantage of me?"

"Look at what you're saying..." Meng Liancheng sighed softly, "as if I have some ulterior motive towards you."

Tang Xu looked up at him. "Don't you have any? If you don't, how come we're in this house right now?"

Meng Liancheng chuckled softly but did not respond.

Tang Xu looked at him and finally asked, "What exactly do you want?"

Meng Liancheng stepped forward, refilled his glass with wine, and said slowly, "If you have time on Friday night, why don't you come to Aosha Winery? There will be an important guest there, and I think you should get to know him; it will be good for your future development."

Tang Xu paused for a moment, then smiled. "Going to all this trouble just to help me develop my career? Mr. Meng is being a bit too kind."

Meng Liancheng took another sip of wine and smiled, "I've said it before, I'm doing this to reconcile with you, and I'm very sincere."
