Chapter 823 I Made This Myself

Mu Chenbi said nothing and walked straight past Ye Jiao.

In the room, Yun Ci was sitting on the edge of the bed, holding a book in his hands.

The door was pushed open at this time, and Mu Chenbi walked into the room carrying hot porridge. He walked in front of Yun Ci, curled his lips and said, "You are a little late. This is what I made myself. Do you want to try it?"

Yun Ci closed the book and looked up, only to see Mu Chenbi standing in front of him, his hair disheveled, his forehead covered in sweat, and even his clothes soaked with sweat. He looked extremely disheveled, with none of his usual dignified appearance.

Yun Ci looked at Mu Chenbi, his eyes fixed on his hand which was tightly wrapped in gauze.

Mu Chenbi subconsciously hid his hands behind his back, as if he was embarrassed to let her see them, and handed the porridge to Yun Ci with one hand.

Yun Ci didn't take it, but picked up the spoon, scooped a spoonful, put it to his lips to cool it down, and then took a sip.

Mu Chenbi stared at Yun Ci with burning eyes, like a child, expecting praise.

Yun Ci said nothing, and there was not even a trace of expression on her cold face. She took a few more bites and then threw the spoon into the bowl.

Mu Chenbi was stunned for a moment and asked, "What's wrong? Is it unpalatable?"

Yun Ci said calmly: "I can't eat anymore."

A trace of sadness and grievance flashed across Mu Chenbi's face, and he coaxed softly, "Eat a few more bites, okay?"

After all... after all, this was the porridge he had spent a whole morning learning to make, but she only ate a few bites and didn't want to eat any more.

"I just can't eat." Yun Ci opened the book in his hand again and let Mu Chenbi stand beside him with the porridge in his hand, as if he was not going to pay any attention to him anymore.

Mu Chenbi's eyes dimmed little by little. He thought that since he worked so hard to learn how to make a bowl of porridge for her, she would at least say something, but she said nothing and even refused to eat another bite. "Okay, I won't force you." Mu Chenbi said hoarsely, holding the bowl of steaming porridge, and slowly turned away.

After Ye Jiao finished her work, she walked into the hall and happened to see a servant carrying a bowl of porridge and pouring it into the trash can.

Ye Jiao walked over and asked, "Isn't this the porridge made by King Mu? Why did it fall over?"

The servant said, "The guy upstairs only ate two bites and said he couldn't eat any more, so he had to throw it away. Alas..."

Seeing the full bowl of porridge go into the trash can, the servant couldn't help but sigh, "This is not porridge, but the king's sincerity. The king injured his hand badly in order to make this bowl of porridge. She was the one who said she wanted to eat the breakfast made by the king himself, and she was the one who said she couldn't eat any more after taking two bites. I really don't know what she was thinking."

Ye Jiao didn't say anything. She snatched the porridge that the servant had not yet finished pouring, turned around and rushed upstairs.

In the room, Yun Ci was still sitting by the window reading a book. Suddenly, he heard the door being pushed open. He looked up and saw Ye Jiao rushing in aggressively.

Ye Jiao placed the bowl in front of Yun Ci. There was still some porridge left in the bowl. She said angrily, "Eat it!"

Yun Ci glanced at her and said slowly, "Why should I eat?"

"Because this was made by Mu Chenbi himself!"

Yun Ci tilted his head: "So?"

Ye Jiao glared at Yun Ci with angry eyes: "In order to make this bowl of porridge for you, his hands are covered with wounds from being stabbed by the kitchen knife. The fingers of that hand are all blistered. What about you? You're not going to eat after just two bites?!"
