Chapter 759 I Killed Him (1)

He was not good at speaking, but he liked listening to her talk. Her expression was gentle and her voice was soft, which made him feel at ease and the gloom from before gradually disappeared.

Ji Jinchuan didn't answer, so Shen Youran continued talking to herself. Being looked at by his gentle and focused eyes, her heart felt like it was coated with a layer of honey, sticky and sweet.

After Shen Youran digested the food, the two went to bed.

……

Since waking up that day, Gu Jinchen was transferred to the intensive care unit. Shen Youran would go to the hospital to see him every day, and Yi You would be there every time.

Yi You was very disgusted with her presence, and the two of them simply greeted each other and didn't communicate much.

Every time she went, she would bring a book and read it to Gu Jinchen. Her eyes were gentle, her voice was soft and delicate, and she grew up in a small town in the south of the Yangtze River. Her voice was indescribably gentle and pleasant.

Every time he heard her voice, Gu Jinchen's mouth would curl up slightly. Although he couldn't speak, his eyes were always glued to her.

Yi You was very jealous of the quiet way the two of them got along. She tried talking to Gu Jinchen and also tried reading newspapers and magazines to him when Shen Youran was not around, but Gu Jinchen didn't react every time.

Sometimes, he just closed his eyes, not knowing whether he was extremely tired or just didn't want to see her.

But Yiyou knew that he was not asleep because his eyelashes were blinking.

Four days after the car accident, Shen Youran just walked outside the ward and heard Assistant Zhang talking to a man. The man's voice was a little hoarse and it was impossible to tell who he was.

She pushed open the door of the ward. There was no one else in the ward except Special Assistant Zhang and Gu Jinchen.

An idea suddenly came to her mind, and she looked at Gu Jinchen in surprise: "Can I talk now?"

Gu Jinchen leaned against the bed, his pale face looked extremely weak. He nodded, his lips curled up slightly with a hint of smile. Shen Youran looked delighted, put the book and the thermos bucket in his hand on the table, turned around and walked out of the ward.

Gu Jinchen had just opened his mouth to speak, but his speech was not as fast as a normal person's, and his mouth moved slightly.

Assistant Zhang understood and called Shen Youran: "Miss Shen, where are you going?"

As soon as Shen Youran's hand touched the door handle, she turned around and said, "I'll go ask the doctor for details."

Her expression showed that she was in a state of confusion due to surprise. Special Assistant Zhang sighed, not knowing when Mr. Gu would be able to get out of that swamp. "The doctor has been here."

Shen Youran then realized that she was too surprised and asked, "What did the doctor say?"

Assistant Zhang's expression suddenly became serious: "It will leave serious sequelae, but we don't know what they are yet. The doctor recommends a full body checkup every six months."

The happy smile froze at the corner of his mouth, and the joy just now disappeared without a trace in an instant. Shen Youran's throat seemed to be blocked by something, and he couldn't utter a word. There was a layer of white mist in his eyes.

She tried desperately to suppress the unknown emotions surging in her heart. She didn't dare to look at the man in the hospital bed. Her eyes were sore that she almost cried.

Gu Jinchen, lying on the hospital bed, looked at her eyes which were red from her forbearance, sighed in his heart, and forgot to tell Special Assistant Zhang not to tell her.

His voice was hoarse, and he uttered a few words slowly: "It's okay."

Shen Youran tilted her head to look at him, and the tears that she had been trying hard to suppress suddenly fell because of these three words.
