Ji Jinchuan returned home. The lights were on in the living room. Aunt Wu came forward and took the clothes he had taken off. He asked, "Where is she?"

Wu Ma was puzzled: "The young lady didn't come back with you?"

Ji Jinchuan frowned and looked at the clock on the wall. It was almost eleven o'clock. There was a crackling sound of rain outside and the whole sky was covered with dark clouds.

He pulled his tie while taking out his cell phone. There were no missed calls. He flipped to Shen Youran's number and called her, but a mechanical female voice said the phone was turned off.

For some reason, he felt irritated. He pulled off his tie and threw it on the sofa beside him, calling her over and over again.

Aunt Wu looked at the heavy rain outside and was worried: "Where would the young lady go in such heavy rain? Why didn't she call and tell me?"

Unable to get through to Shen Youran on the phone, Ji Jinchuan threw his phone on the coffee table, took out a cigarette from his pocket and lit it.

It was raining outside, and the only sound in the empty living room was the ticking of the clock on the wall.

Wu Ma stopped him and said, "Master, you don't know where the young mistress is. Where can you find her?"

Ji Jinchuan took his coat and put it on without saying anything. It was okay to look for him anywhere, as it was better than just sitting here and waiting foolishly.

Seeing that he was determined to go out to look for someone, Wu Ma took out an umbrella from the cabinet at the entrance and handed it to him: "Please drive carefully."

After leaving the living room, Ji Jinchuan opened his black umbrella and just as he stepped down the stairs, he saw a thin figure walking in the rain. She was soaked, her clothes and hair were tightly stuck to her body, and one of her shoes was missing. The rain was running down her head, and she looked as miserable as a stray dog.

Seeing the man standing on the steps, Shen Youran looked at him steadily. The raindrops as big as beans were so heavy that she couldn't open her eyes. Her vision was so blurry that she could hardly see the man's outline.

The two of them stared at each other from a distance for a few seconds, then the man strode down the steps, walked quickly towards her, held the umbrella over her head, and frowned at her, "Where have you been?"

Shen Youran looked at him silently. When she heard his slightly deep tone, her eyes became warm and the mist in her eyes rose again.

Seeing that she didn't say anything for a long time, Ji Jinchuan put his arm around her shoulders and walked towards the living room, not caring that hugging her like this would get his clothes wet.

Aunt Wu was calling Shen Youran on the landline when she heard a voice coming from the entrance. She turned around and saw that it was Ji Jinchuan and Shen Youran coming in.

She quickly put down the receiver and walked over. Seeing Shen Youran, who was soaking wet, she was surprised and asked, "Madam, why are you so wet?"

Shen Youran tried hard to pull her lips, but still couldn't force out a smile.

Ji Jinchuan took a dry towel and wiped the water droplets on her face and hair, and told Wu Ma: "Go and get some hot water."

Shen Youran's whole body was wet. She stood there and let Ji Jinchuan fiddle with her. After just a few minutes, a pool of water formed under her feet.

It was almost the end of autumn, and the night was cold. She was caught in the rain again, and the cold rain penetrated her skin, making her shiver.
