Chapter 15 Never Again
The harsh, cold voice revealed his annoyance and a bit of impatience.

If he hadn't read her information, he would have doubted whether she was an adult.

Shen Youran mustered up the courage to whisper, "...I'm scared."

Ji Jinchuan frowned slightly and said calmly, "No."

She was skeptical about Ji Jinchuan's words and tried to kiss him.

She went into the bathroom, and when she came out she saw Ji Jinchuan wrapped in a bath towel, talking on the phone, with his back to her, revealing his muscular and perfect body lines.

She glanced at the time. It was already ten o'clock in the evening. If she went back late and disturbed the old man, she would be beaten and scolded.

Although she was used to it, she didn't want to implicate her mother.

Every time she made a mistake, Mr. Shen would scold Tang Huiru, asking her why she didn't try hard enough to give birth to a son.

There were many times when he said this in front of her, and the tone of disdain was very obvious.

Tang Huiru was a very patient person. She would never say a word no matter how the old man bullied her, but she had been seen hiding in her room crying.

Therefore, in order not to cause trouble to her mother, she lived on thin ice in the Shen family.

Many times, like a servant, I am always cautious and afraid of making mistakes.

She waited for a moment and wanted to say hello to Ji Jinchuan before leaving, but he was on the phone for a long time and seemed to have no intention of ending.

After thinking for a while, she picked up the bag on the sofa and left without saying a word.

After leaving the hotel, she looked from a distance and saw Lao Wang's car still waiting outside the mall.

She repeated her old trick, went through the back door of the mall, bought some things, walked out of the mall, opened the car door and got in. Mr. Wang was leaning back in his seat and taking a nap. When he heard the car door slam, he rubbed his eyes and said, "Second Miss, shall we go back now?"

Shen Youran threw the shopping bag in her hand into the back seat: "Well, let's go back."

When she got home, there was a light on in the living room and she paused slightly.

Half past ten was not too late. She hoped that the servant had left the light on for her, and not that the old man and Shen Yaoting were waiting for her.

She walked into the living room carrying the shopping bags in her hand. On the sofa in the living room, Tang Huiru was sleeping with one hand on the armrest, with a thin blanket covering her legs.

Mr. Shen and Shen Yaoting were not at home, so they should have gone to bed, and Tang Huiru was waiting for her to come back.

Half squatting in front of the sofa, looking at Tang Huiru's peaceful sleeping face, Shen Youran felt a pang of pain in her heart. In this family, she was probably the only one who truly loved her.

She called softly, "Mom."

Tang Huiru opened her eyes, with sleepiness and fatigue in them that she couldn't hide. She covered her lips and yawned: "Are you back? Go back to your room and get some rest."

She uttered a heavy nasal “hmm”: “Next time if I come back late, you don’t have to wait for me. I’m not a child anymore.”

Tang Huiru said, "City A has changed a lot in recent years. You just came back, so I am a little worried."

Shen Youran's nose felt sore: "I'll take you back to your room."

Tang Huiru nodded.

Shen Youran helped her up to the second floor and sent her to the door. She waited until the lights in the room went out before returning to her room.
