Chapter 175 Choice

Chapter 175 Choice
"Special Envoy, how come you..."

Alexei was knocked unconscious by the fall and thought he was hallucinating. After calming down, he realized that the Type 4 tank in front of him was the one they had captured and hidden before.

"We'll talk about the rest later." He Chi raised his hand to stop Alexei, took out a pistol from his arms, walked to the armored vehicle, and fired more shots into the car.

boom! boom! boom!
"Let me hide it first." He Chi reached out and pulled Alexei out of the mud, then turned around to start the tank.

The Type 4 tank roared, then retreated into the woods on the side of the road again. He Chi covered it with branches again as camouflage, then returned to the wreckage of the armored vehicle to search for spoils. Judging from his skilled movements, it was obvious that this was not the first time he had done this.

"There are no medicines, but there are canned food. Damn, the chocolate has melted..." The Oriental man muttered to himself while rummaging through the wreckage.

"Alexei, take it!" As soon as He Chi finished speaking, a backpack full of items fell into the hands of the young cavalryman.

"Comrade Special Envoy, what are you doing..." Alexei, who was holding the thing, didn't understand what the other party meant at all.

"Since you have made it out, let's go back to Moscow. The situation here has been decided, and there is nothing you can do to help." He Chi said at the side, and at the same time silently in his heart (At least there are still a few people left alive, so it's not a complete failure.)
"No, Comrade Special Envoy, I have an important mission to attend to."

"What mission?"

"this…"

"Do you need me to get the commission again?"

"No, please take a look." Alexei handed the wrapped documents in his arms to He Chi.

He Chi flipped through the things in his hand and looked at Alexi with a strange look, "Are you looking for the 4th Tank Regiment?"

"Yes, this is the order from the regiment commander." Alexei straightened his chest, but the wound on his body was pulled and he grimaced in pain.

"Give up, you probably don't have to go." The Oriental man said something with unclear meaning.

"Why?! Comrade special envoy, you know that everyone in the regiment is waiting..." Alexei said in a hoarse voice.

"Wait a moment." After saying that, He Chi went back into the wreckage of the armored vehicle and fiddled with something.

Bang!

A thick board was thrown out from inside the armored vehicle and landed in front of Alexei, almost hitting his foot.

"Look what's painted on it?"

Alexei turned over the object on the ground and found that it was a broken piece of armor plate with green paint and a corner of a red star on it.

Next to the red star there was a line of special numbers that was covered by dust. Alexei wiped it with his hand to reveal the original traces.

4-Titankovich…

Alexei stroked it with his hand and slowly read out "Moscow Front, 9th Army Armored 4th Regiment..."

An ominous thought arose in his mind, and Alexei looked at the steel plate in front of him in disbelief. "This, this is..."

"This should be the armor fragment of a destroyed tank, left by the Germans as a souvenir to show off. Do you know what its appearance here means?"

Alexei remained silent, but he already had the answer in his heart.

"It means that this unit has had a battle with the 4th Tank Regiment, which means that the 4th Tank Regiment has most likely been repelled or at least suffered heavy damage." "In other words, even if you try your best to deliver the message, the 4th Regiment may no longer be able to provide support." He Chi poured a bucket of cold water on Alexei.

"How could this be?" Alexei stood there in a daze. He and his comrades had fought through life and death, but this was the outcome. He couldn't accept it for a moment.

The Oriental man leaned against a big tree nearby, without urging, but just looked at the other party silently.

"What do you think? Do you want to go back with me? I have some connections with the higher-ups and I won't treat you as a deserter." He Chi said, looking at the young man who was less than 20 years old.

"I..." Alexei was about to say something, but he found something touching him.

Hiss~hiss~, the white horse Victory kept paddling with his hooves in place, lowered his head and bit Alexei's sleeve with his mouth, and nodded his head to signal him to follow him.

The young cavalryman was confused and was pulled by the white horse to another road.

Turning the corner, he saw a dead body lying on the side of the road. It was the messenger who was with him.

His Mongolian horse kept neighing beside him and nudging the dead soldiers with its head.

Two people walked over and found that there were four or five machine gun bullet holes on the soldier's back, and the blood was no longer flowing out.

Turning him over, he found that the dead signalman was holding a bag tightly in his arms. Alexei struggled to pry the man's hands open and found white letters from home inside.

When the wind blew, the envelope made a rustling sound, and it looked like a white butterfly flapping its wings.

Alexei's confused eyes suddenly became clear. He leaned over to take the signalman's bag and slung it over his shoulder. "Comrade Special Envoy, I still want to find the 4th Tank Regiment."

Now it was He Chi's turn to be surprised. "Have you really decided? Even if it means risking danger and being in vain?"

"Yes, the whole regiment is waiting for me. I don't want to give up even if there is only a little hope." Alexei tidied his backpack and took the reins of "Victory".

He Chi looked at the young man who was full of enthusiasm and wondered what he was thinking of.

Then he took out two pieces of paper and a pen from his pocket and wrote something on them, then handed a folded piece of paper and the letter to the other party.

Alexei lowered his head and tried to open the letter, but was stopped by He Chi.
"If you get to the end and find nothing, open this and see, maybe there's a little bit that could lead to a miracle."

Although he didn't understand what the special envoy meant, Alexei still obediently put all the things into his backpack.

The sound of horse hooves gradually faded away, and Alexei's figure disappeared at the end of the road.

He Chi looked at the rider in the distance, shook his head, turned and went into the woods. Soon the roar of the tank sounded again.

Two hours later, Alexei led his white horse and looked at the scene in despair. The wreckage of the destroyed T26 and T34 tanks were parked miserably by the river. The turrets of these tanks had the number logo of the th Tank Regiment near them.

Suddenly, Alexei seemed to remember something. He hurriedly took off his backpack and searched for something inside.

Finally, a folded piece of letter paper unfolded in his hand, with only an address and a few words on it.

"Get to Moscow within two hours and deliver another letter to a person named Yulia. If you're quick, maybe everything will be in time."
