Chapter 16 Asking for help outside the venue
The loaded Browning pistol was pulled out instantly, and the muzzle was pointed in the direction where the sound came from. He Chi stared at the opposite side intently, and he pulled the trigger at the slightest abnormality.
rustle ~ rustle ~
The sunlight shone in from the other side, leaving a huge, mottled shadow through the bushes.
Judging from the shadow, the man was probably over 6 feet tall and had a large build.
He Chi was more worried about the bear than the Germans.
There were seven bullets in the Browning pistol. The 7.65mm caliber bullets were unlikely to cause fatal damage to large creatures like bears. He Chi stretched out his arm and aimed at the opponent's head.
rustle ~ rustle ~
The shadows of the trees swayed, and the tall figure walked out from the opposite side and turned to face him.
It was his acquaintance, the strong head nurse Margaret.
"Thank God, it's not a bear," He Chi muttered to himself as he put away his pistol.
"He?! Thank God, I was just wondering what if it was the Germans. How could a woman like me beat them?" Margaret, who was taller than He Chi, patted her chest with lingering fear, and then asked worriedly, "I just heard you say bear, did you see a bear here? Is it dangerous?"
"No, ma'am, I didn't say anything just now. You must have heard it wrong." He Chi coughed lightly and then changed the subject. "Ms. Margaret, why are you here? Shouldn't you retreat with the guards?"
"We are separated, all separated." The tall English lady wiped her dark cheek with her big palm. "The Germans attacked too quickly. We had no time to evacuate. Everyone in the field hospital was separated. The officer of the guard unit asked us to run separately. I and several other nurses found a room nearby and hid there."
"Wait, you said there is a house nearby?!" He Chi showed a surprised expression on his face.
"Yes, it's not far over there. There's a big house, but there's no one inside." Margaret pointed in another direction.
"Great! Help me, she is seriously injured and needs to be treated immediately." As He Chi spoke, he held Christine, who was already in a semi-conscious state, horizontally.
Margaret was right. After walking a short distance, the group saw a retro-style manor. Perhaps nobles had lived here in the past. There was even a row of one-meter-high stone walls covered with roses for protection.
Entering the manor, He Chi saw several familiar faces. They were the nurses who had taken care of him in the hospital before.
"Is there a doctor? Which doctor is here?" He Chi asked several people, but the nurses all shook their heads.
This place is full of nurses.
He Chi looked around, then looked at the unconscious Christine again, then pulled Margaret over and said, "Ma'am, I need you to do me a favor."
The original owner's dining table was carried out, the tableware on it was cleared away, the thick curtains were drawn, all the candles were lit together, and a simple operating table was set up.
Christine lay quietly on it, while He Chi stood quietly beside her wearing a "surgical gown" made from a tablecloth.
"He, are you sure you can perform the surgery? This is not something that can be done casually." Margaret asked uneasily.
"I'm not sure, but I should be the only one here who can try." He Chi took a deep breath and raised the pliers in his hand.
Disciple inherited ability: Trauma Treatment V2
Trying hard to concentrate, He Chi clamped the glass fragments with the pliers in his hand. His hands were steady thanks to his skills.
But when he was about to exert his strength, he was stunned.
What to do next? He was a little unsure.
"How could this happen?! Didn't I inherit Mr. Constantine's surgical skills? Why don't I know what to do next?!" He Chi questioned in his heart.
"The player's trauma treatment skill level is not enough to independently complete the current difficulty of the operation. The probability of failure if forced to proceed is greater than 70%." The system informed coldly. "Fuck! Can't you tell me before the operation?"
Looking at Christine lying on the table with a worsening complexion, He Chi's heart sank.
"It would be great if Mr. Constantine was here with me, at least I could ask him for guidance." He Chi muttered to himself.
"It is detected that the player needs off-field guidance. Do you need it?" The system suddenly interrupted.
"What?! What did you say?" He Chi thought he had heard it wrong.
"Players can pay to contact real people without revealing the copy information. The one-time fee is one silver coin. Can we communicate?"
The last silver coin fell into his hand. He Chi thought for a moment and answered in his heart, "Okay, I'll pay. How do I contact you?"
"Please follow the system instructions."
Margaret looked at He Chi who was standing there in a daze, with a worried look on her face. Just when she couldn't help but want to take a photo of him, He Chi's eyes suddenly lit up.
"Margaret, is there a telephone in this house? Did you see it when you came in?" He Chi stared at the English aunt with the most serious expression.
"Um... yes, there is one in the master bedroom, but it's broken..."
"That's all! Wait for me! I'll be back soon!" He Chi said this and ran towards the master bedroom.
After opening the door to the master bedroom and then locking it, He Chi saw the old-fashioned hand-cranked telephone - it was broken, and even the telephone line was disconnected.
But He Chi still picked up the receiver and put it to his ear.
"Please, it must be useful!" He Chi whispered, "I want to find Mr. Constantine."
A wonderful thing happened. The busy tone came from the phone without any wires. With a light click, Mr. Constantine's heavy and steady voice came out from it, "He, where have you been? When I returned to the house, I found that you were gone. Lisa wanted to go out to look for you."
"Sir, I will tell you this when I get back. I have a wounded person in front of me who needs help."
"Where are you? I'll be right there."
"I'm sorry, sir, you may not be able to make it here in time. I will explain the details to you later. Can you guide me on how to deal with the injured?"
"on the phone?"
"Yes, on the phone, the current situation is this..." He Chi described Christine's situation in the most concise language.
"Well," Constantine replied after a moment's thought, "if time is really running out, then we can take a risk. I'll tell you to remember this. First, observe whether there are any cracks on the fragments, or any bloodstains on the cuts..."
He Chi remembers it in great detail.
"Thank you! Sir, I will explain it later!" After saying this, He Chi put down the phone and ran back to the room that served as the operating room.
"Okay, everyone please cooperate with me, I know what to do." At this time, He Chi's tone regained confidence.
