Chapter 141 Car Bomb

Chapter 141 Car Bomb
"Mr. Nukamolenko, please stay. The general is discussing the next plan with his staff. You can wait in the reception room."

In the conference room, Guderian's adjutant stopped He Chi who had just entered the room, and took away a map on the table in front of him.

Colonel Reese Dawson showed his sense of distance without any concealment. From the colonel's point of view, this guy named Nukamolenko was just a lucky villain who showed off his eloquence and happened to please Mr. Guderian by chance.

"No, Mr. Dawson, I'm not here to see the general today, I'm here to see you." He Chi put down what he was holding.

"Looking for me? Mr. Nukamolenko, I'm not interested in strategy and tactics. You've got the wrong person." Colonel Dawson turned and was about to leave.

"What if it's about the general himself?" came a slow voice from behind.

Colonel Dawson slowly turned around, walked back and stood in front of He Chi. "You say."

Sure enough, it was just as what Guderian wrote in his memoirs.

Later, He Chi read in Guderian's memoirs that he mentioned his adjutant Reese Dawson many times, calling him "the most careful and capable assistant." This rigid German colonel would be extremely persistent once an incident involved the general himself.

"Colonel, according to intelligence from our Ukrainian People's Liberation Army, there is a high possibility that an assassination attempt will occur against General Guderian himself in the near future." He Chi said to the other party solemnly.

"Tips from Ukraine?" Dawson smiled and patted He Chi's shoulder. "Mr. Nukamolenko, I appreciate your enthusiasm, but the general has very strict security. We will ensure his safety."

Then he added with a hint of contempt, "Intelligence work is a very complicated activity. I think what the Ukrainian People's Liberation Army should do now is to eat and teach the militia to shoot, rather than to get some unfounded intelligence."

The colonel was about to leave, but Nukamolenko spoke again.

"Does your superior, Herr Himmler, think so too?"

"What did you say!" Dawson turned around suddenly, his sharp eyes shot towards He Chi, his hand already touching the gun at his waist.

As Mustache said, he never had complete trust in his generals, whether in 1945 or in 1941.

Reese Dawson also has a secret identity. He was instructed by the mustachioed Führer, assigned by Himmler, and placed by the Gestapo as a spy next to Guderian.

The general himself said in his memoirs that he only learned Dawson's identity after he became the Army Chief of Staff in 1944, and it is still top secret.

"Please rest assured, I have not told anyone about this, let alone the general. The reason I did this is just to show you the capabilities of our Ukrainian Liberation Army." He Chi, who was dressed up as Nukamolenko, bowed slightly and did not appear arrogant.

"There is a saying in the far east: A powerful dragon cannot defeat a local snake. My men are all locals, and we have our own channels for obtaining information. Colonel, we are allies, and you need us!"

After listening to He Chi's words, the colonel thought for a moment, walked to the gate and said to the orderly

"Open the spare meeting room and prepare another pot of tea. Mr. Nukamolenko and I have something to talk about."

Ten minutes later, in the spare meeting room.

"You said there was an attack on the general. Do you have any specific information?" Colonel Dawson spoke first.

"No, there is only a vague piece of information. The attack may be carried out by bomb explosion." He Chi's expression was serious, and it was not at all obvious that he was lying.

"Where's the time?"

"Just in the last three days."

Colonel Dawson rubbed his chin. He did not let down his guard because of the vague information. He was a second-rate professional soldier, but a first-rate intelligence officer. He knew that such vague information was the norm in intelligence warfare, especially the assassination of the highest officer, which could not be taken lightly. "Do you know the identity of the other party? The Soviets? How many are there?"

"No! The information my informant passed on before losing contact was that the other party was from the UK and was alone."

"This is impossible. One person wants to assassinate an army general who is under heavy protection? This is a fantasy!" Colonel Dawson sneered.

"It is indeed a person, and his identity is very mysterious. We only know his code name: 007."

"Hiss~" Dawson had heard of this name. The loss of at least 20 excellent intelligence agents in London was related to this guy. The usually gloomy Himmler had broken the cup twice because of this matter.

"I know this guy, the ace of MI6, but it sounds unbelievable that a British guy would go to Soviet territory to carry out assassination." Dawson did not give up his doubts.

"This is not something I can easily speculate. Maybe the British have suddenly gone crazy. But Colonel, please believe me, whether from the perspective of the Ukrainian Liberation Army or my own perspective, I sincerely hope that Mr. Guderian can guarantee his safety 100%."

He Chi left.

A seemingly plausible message and a hastily concluded phone call did not completely change Colonel Dawson's mind, but it still produced an effect.

Two days later, on the way to inspect the motor transport unit, Goodley asked his adjutant, "Dawson, why do I feel that the number of guards has increased during this period?"

"Sir, this is an occupied area and the security situation is terrible. We are just making some foolproof plans," Dawson responded respectfully.

"There is no need to do this. After all, this is our own army. I believe..."

A sudden change occurred! !
A truck suddenly broke through the warehouse door and headed straight towards Guderian's convoy!

"Shoot! Stop him!!" the captain of the guards shouted!

Ta-da! Ta-da! Ta-da! Ta-da!

Guderian's guards opened fire with more than a dozen submachine guns at the same time, the glass of the truck's cab was all shattered, sparks flew in front, but the truck showed no sign of slowing down.

"Idiot! Shoot the tires! Shoot the tires quickly!" someone shouted at the side to remind them, and the others woke up as if from a dream and pointed their guns at the tires of the truck.

Chug tug tug! ! ! !
The truck was moving forward when its tire burst and it overturned at the intersection. A guard holding a weapon wanted to go up to check...

boom! ! ! ! ! !

A huge explosion sounded, and the flames that shot up into the sky engulfed all the people nearby. At least five German soldiers died on the spot.

Looking at the blazing fire, Colonel Dawson, who was holding the general under him, remembered what the Ukrainian had said to him the day before.

"It could be an attack in the form of a bomb explosion."

"Just in the next two or three days."

The German adjutant suddenly glanced around and asked the guard, "Has anyone seen Nukamolenko?"
