Chapter 168 Two Moons
The torch slowly approached the dense forest, and a breeze blew, making the flames hiss a little larger.

"Fuck!"

The moment Qiao Tai saw what was tied to the tree branch, he cursed in horror, "What the hell is that?"

Meng Ziyang and Liu Liu also stopped chewing the rabbit meat. They stared in astonishment as the creature with a human face, a leopard's body, and a long snake tail twisted and turned in the branches binding them, trying to break free while its eyes kept turning to the roasting rabbit meat on the fire. Its saliva was visibly dripping down its face.

Meng Ziyang felt nauseous and couldn't eat anymore.

Liu Liu was the same. Because of her relationship with the fairy, she didn't actually dislike snakes. But could this thing in front of her be called a snake?
It's not a demon, is it?
It doesn't look like it.

"Wow!"

Suddenly, the thing opened its mouth and made a sound. The baby's face, coupled with the baby's wailing, made Liu Liu's skin crawl with fear.

She couldn't help but call out to the fairy, "Fairy, fairy, come out here and see what this is?"

Liu Xiangu revealed a snake's head from the jade pendant. Upon seeing the creature, she clicked her tongue and exclaimed, "It's actually a strange snake! Weren't these things supposed to be extinct? How come there's still one?"

"Strange snake? What is a strange snake? Is it a type of snake? How come I've never heard of it before?"

"What kind of snake is it? It's just a beast." Fairy Liu spoke of it with utter disdain, clearly displeased that its name contained the word "snake." "A gluttonous, crybaby, utterly useless. But..."

Fairy Liu paused, looked around, and then said, "Liu'er, do you know what will happen once this fellow starts crying?"

Liu Liu, Meng Ziyang, and Qiao Tai looked at it together, wondering, "What will happen?"

"Floods. To avoid them, feed them the food you bake."

Without the slightest hesitation, Liu Liu urged Meng Ziyang, "Ziyang, give them to them."

The floods were one issue, but the most serious problem was the eerie sound of its cries.

Meng Ziyang counted them; there were four strange snakes in total. They all looked almost identical: the face of an infant, the body of a leopard or jackal, the tail of a snake, and no feet.

He tore off the four legs of a rabbit and a strange snake.

When he handed it over, he loosened the branch slightly, and the rabbits, which had originally resembled tiny baby mouths, suddenly opened wide and bit the rabbit leg in one gulp, swallowing it whole in a few crunching bites.

After finishing their meal, they looked at Meng Ziyang again, their eyes gleaming with greed, clearly wanting more.

Meng Ziyang frowned, then turned to ask Fairy Liu, "Fairy, can't we kill this thing?"

Although they are not demons, they have no kindness towards them. What's most despicable is their insatiable greed; they want more after they've had their fill.

Liu Xiangu emerged from the jade pendant, her entire body protruding. The enormous snake raised its head high, its tongue flicking as it looked down disdainfully at the four strange snakes.

They also looked up at Fairy Liu, their bewildered baby faces showing fear, then they pursed their lips.

"Shut up!"

Before they could cry out, Fairy Liu shouted, "Get out of here after you've finished eating, or I'll eat you up."

Meng Ziyang quickly loosened the branch, and saw the four strange snakes wriggle away like snakes, instantly disappearing into the darkness.

"here."

After looking around, the snake-faced fairy suddenly became serious. "Something seems wrong here."

It seemed that even Fairy Liu couldn't quite put her finger on it, but one thing was certain: this place was completely different from the Grand Canyon she had seen during the day.

Or rather, the Grand Canyon becomes a different place at night.

"You all stay here for now, I'll look around."

After speaking, Fairy Liu vanished without a trace, leaving the three of them staring at each other in bewilderment, their appetites gone. Meanwhile, at the entrance to the Grand Canyon, Captain Chen, along with Meng Qi, Wei Xiaole, and Xiao Yinuo, were looking up at the two full moons in the sky.

Because she was worried about Ziyang and the others, Xiaoqi eventually came over.

Why are there two moons here?

"They are slowly getting closer and closing in."

The four stared in disbelief as the two full moons merged together. At the same time, the canyon in front of them seemed to move slightly.

When the four came to their senses, the entrance in front of them had changed. The path leading inside had disappeared, and an incredibly thick ancient tree stood before them. The leaves on the tree were as big as washbasins, and under the moonlight, they could see that dark red fruits seemed to be hidden under the green leaves.

They were all stunned.

Xiao Qi stared at the ancient tree and whispered to Captain Chen, "Brother Chen, don't you... have anything to say?"

"No, this is my first time seeing it too."

"But you've been waiting here for five years."

"That was the first time I'd ever seen it."

Captain Chen spoke with conviction, and then, to increase credibility, he added, "None of the cultivators who came here to explore before had ever discovered this phenomenon, at least none of them had ever heard of anyone who came out alive mentioning it."

Xiao Qi believed him because Lin Qingquan had stayed here for five years.
He had always felt that the reason he couldn't get out and spent five years in a daze was because of the red-tailed fox's illusion, but now it seems that it might not be entirely due to the illusion.

After all, the little fox's abilities weren't enough to sustain it for that long.

So her father must have encountered a moment when the two moons coincided, but he didn't realize it.

I have to say, Xiaoqi is right.

The three people who were grilling meat in front of the cave didn't notice that two moons had appeared overhead and even overlapped.

Wei Xiaole pondered, "Is this why those demons fled into the Grand Canyon to hide? What will appear here after the overlap?"

What will happen? There will always be something different.

Xiao Qi looked at the purplish-red fruits that were faintly visible on the ancient tree, and she took out a powerful flashlight and shone it over them.

I wanted to take a closer look at the fruit to see what it looked like and whether it was edible. But when the light shone on it, all the leaves on the tree suddenly closed up like a sensitive plant that had been touched.

The fruit was completely covered by leaves, so nothing could be seen.

She tried to control a leaf to fall, but the whole tree shook, as if it were resisting her.

it's wired.

Wei Xiaole looked at the unfamiliar woods with worry, "I wonder how Ziyang and Atai are doing inside? I hope the fairy is reliable this time and doesn't just sleep all the time."

"Ah!"

As she searched for a way out, Fairy Willow sneezed unexpectedly. She turned her head to look at the dark night and muttered to herself, "What's going on? Is someone talking about me?"

"Fairy Maiden, what are you saying?"

Liu Liu and the other two followed behind it, with Qiao Tai holding a torch high in his hand, and Meng Ziyang's leaves swirling around them warily.

They walked slowly, following the fairy into a cave.
