Therefore, it is not possible to prove the truth just by establishing a religion!

It seems that simply establishing a religion is not enough to prove the truth!

Doesn't that mean.
If they want to attain enlightenment, they also have to make great aspirations?

When Lao Tzu was attaining enlightenment, Yuanshi and Tongtian both sensed the opportunity to do so.

However, because the secrets of heaven were obscure at the time, the two were really hard to figure out, so they did not attract the primordial purple energy and directly establish a religion to become saints.

They think there is something wrong!
At this moment, it seems that this problem is not a small one?
"If we use this method, wouldn't it be equivalent to... proving the truth through merit?"

Yuanshi thought so and felt very unwilling.

As proud as he is, he always thinks that he is no worse than Nuwa.

To be precise, if Nuwa had not attained enlightenment before him, he would even think that Nuwa was inferior to himself.

It is for this reason that he feels that since Nuwa could open up the universe and prove her truth, then Yuanshi could do just as well.

But the result told him that his Yuanshi was not going to work!
Even if the three corpses are united into one, it is not possible to prove the truth by beheading the corpses!
He can only take the weakest method among all the ways to attain enlightenment.

Merit and proof of the truth.

In fact, it does.

In the history of the ancient times, each of the six saints after Hongjun relied on the proof of the Tao to achieve enlightenment. The difference lies in the degree of reliance, which is more or less.

Nuwa is the one with the most merits, but also the one with the most dependence.

Laozi is the least powerful. That is why it happens that although Nuwa was the first to attain enlightenment, her strength is relatively the lowest among the six saints.

Merit is indeed a good thing, but for those who are determined to attain enlightenment, it is a mixed blessing.

When Yuanshi saw that Nuwa did not rely on merit and even gave up on becoming a saint, he was dissatisfied and mocked her.

But now it seems that he has no qualifications at all.

Giving up the status of a saint is an active choice.

But he had to prove his truth through merit, which made him as passive as possible.

"Could it be that... I, Yuanshi, am really inferior to Nuwa?"

Tongtian also had a unhappy look on his face.

Although he was not as eager as Yuanshi to prove that he was no weaker than Nuwa, he also had a lot of pride in his heart.

What's more, just establishing a religion is not enough; one must also make great aspirations.

What, make a great wish?
Isn’t that equivalent to borrowing merit from heaven?

Even after attaining enlightenment, one cannot really be free and unfettered, one is still subject to considerable restrictions!
This made Tongtian even more uncomfortable. He was one of the Three Pure Ones and was born with great luck. Logically speaking, as long as he felt the opportunity to achieve enlightenment, he should have enough merits.

How could this be?
With Yuanshi and Tongtian's levels of cultivation, they naturally couldn't figure it out.

They are also unable to see that their own path to enlightenment has actually been tampered with long ago!

Through fate, and when the long river of fate collapses!
Only Laozi caught a glimpse of the clue, so he frowned and asked.

"Teacher, my second and third brothers also want to make great wishes?"

Hongjun glanced at him and did not answer directly. Instead, he looked at the sea of ​​blood with a calm tone.

"Did you know that Styx also created a race?"

"Teacher, are you talking about the Asura clan?" Laozi replied.

"When Nuwa created the human race, Heaven bestowed merits upon them. When the Styx created the Asuras, Heaven also bestowed merits upon them. However, the amount of merits they received is incomparable. Do you know why?"

In the past, the Styx saw Nuwa making humans out of clay, which was a great merit.

So he also created a race, which is also one of the six paths of reincarnation today, namely the Asura path.

But although both of them created races, the merits gained by the Styx cannot be compared with Nuwa, and it can even be said that they are not on the same level.

After Hongjun finished asking, Laozi pondered for a moment and said.

"Because the Asura race is not as blessed as the human race?"

Hongjun nodded and continued.

“But there is also Nuwa, who is the reason why the first living being was created between heaven and earth.”

Having said that, I understand.

In other words, after Hongjun's guidance, he felt that he understood.

"So that's how it is. Thank you teacher for clearing up my confusion!"

In fact, Laozi was not the first person in the world to establish a religion.

Even if we exclude Hongjun, who founded Xuanmen, there is still Taihao, and I can only be considered the second one at most.

If Yuanshi and Tongtian founded a religion, they would only be the fourth and fifth!
In this case, it seems reasonable that the merits are not enough?
At this moment, Laozi thought that it was fortunate that he achieved enlightenment quickly, otherwise he would have to make great wishes.

As for Yuanshi and Tongtian, they had no words to grievance.

Because according to Hongjun, in order to attain enlightenment, they must fulfill this great ambition!

Thinking of this, Yuanshi looked at Jie Yin and Zhunti who had already absorbed all the merits and were about to break through to Hunyuan, and knew that nothing could be done.

At that moment, he could not care about so many things. He mobilized the Hongmeng purple energy and shouted loudly.

"I am Yuanshi, the incarnation of Pangu's primordial spirit. I am the Pangu Sect. Today I want to establish a sect, named: Chan Sect! I will use the innate treasure Pangu Axe, the treasure of the sect, to suppress the destiny! All spiritual creatures in the world, and those with extraordinary talents, can become my disciples! Chan Sect, established!"

As Yuanshi finished speaking, golden clouds in the sky gathered again.

But his merits were not enough for him to attain enlightenment!
Seeing this scene, Yuanshi became determined and also became ruthless.

"After I attain enlightenment, the teaching of the Tao should follow the trend of heaven and man and clarify the principles of the Tao! For the benefit of the great world!"

“After I have attained enlightenment, I will reunite the fragmented primordial world so that the great god Pangu’s efforts can be condensed!”

Yuanshi made eighteen great wishes in one breath before enough golden clouds of merit could be condensed.

Then in the next moment, he began to transform towards Hunyuan.

At the same time, Tongtian's voice also rang out.

"I am Tongtian, the incarnation of Pangu's original spirit. I am the orthodox Pangu sect. Now I also want to establish a sect, named Jie Sect! I will use the Zhuxian Sword Formation as the treasure of the sect. Anyone who is predestined in the three realms of heaven, earth and man, regardless of their background or cultivation, can become my disciple! Jie Sect, established!"

Then, just like the situation faced by Yuanshi, the merit bestowed by Heaven is not enough!
