With Langston enthusiastically pulling him along, Alex had long forgotten his fear and excitedly said to Tessa and Jerry beside him, "See? There really is an exit here, and Mr. Langston is still alive. We've already gone through hardships, so everything from now on will definitely go smoothly!"

Tessa and Jerry were clearly not in their best shape after going through a series of events, and they didn't consider what was hidden behind the incident at all. Their minds were filled with the joy of being able to escape.

Tessa clutched her chest with her hands clasped together and sighed, "Oh God, once I get out of here, I never want to go to any more adventure places. Even if there are many secrets in this world, I have no curiosity to explore them. All I want to do now is go home, make myself a cup of hot cocoa, and snuggle into a warm blanket."

Although Jerry didn't say anything, he nodded excitedly, clearly agreeing with Tessa's words.

Only Alex, it seems, after seeing Langston, reaffirmed his resolve to uphold what he was determined to do.

Alex gripped Langston's hand and walked alongside him, exclaiming excitedly, "I almost gave up! I almost gave up on my dream! Once we get out, I'll definitely tell everyone about this. Everyone needs to know the truth, they need to know what really happened!"

Looking at Langston's retreating figure as he led the way, his voice choked with emotion: "Especially you, Mr. Langston, you have been misunderstood by many. They all say you harmed others, but that's not true! Once we get out, I will definitely help you restore your reputation. You deserve the respect of everyone who likes you!"

Hearing Alex's exclamations from ahead, Lin Bei and Constantine, lagging behind in the group, found it all quite amusing.

However, they didn't say anything, only smiled and shook their heads, following in silence the whole way.

Led by Langston, they passed through countless doors underground, even through a wall and a bathtub.

Just as Constantine was running out of patience and cursing with a cigarette in his mouth, Langston, who was at the front, finally stopped.

Alex, Tessa, and Jerry looked at Langston with curiosity. Alex looked around and asked, "Mr. Langston, it's so dark here. Is there something here?"

Langston turned to Alex and smiled, his smile somewhat sinister. He didn't say anything, but simply pointed to the camera that Alex was holding in his arms.

Seeing this, Lin Bei and Constantine exhaled a smoke ring and remarked, "This guy is quite dedicated. He lost everything except the camera."

Lin Bei yawned lazily: "Without a camera, how can he show others his so-called truth? Just with his mouth? Who would believe that?"

Just as the two were talking in hushed tones behind him, Alex in front of him seemed to finally discern something else from Langston's actions.

Alex quickly raised the camera, turned on night vision mode, and pointed it at the darkness ahead.

Alex slowly moved the camera, his eyes glued to the screen. Suddenly, his eyes widened, and he exclaimed in surprise, "Yes, there really is! A red door! There's a red door there, it's the exit, it's definitely the exit!"

Alex shouted and pointed straight ahead. Tessa and Jerry, seeing this, disregarded their fear and hurriedly ran forward.

Alex followed closely behind, holding a camera.

Sure enough, in the darkness ahead, there was a large open space without any supporting pillars, and in the very center of the open space, a red door stood quietly.

Lin Bei and Constantine followed. Constantine looked at the door and whistled, "Oh, there really is one. The power leaking from this door is really awful. But this guy wasn't lying. This door can indeed lead us out of here."

Constantine's words undoubtedly gave Alex and his two companions a shot in the arm.

The three of them immediately perked up and began to examine the red door.

The red gate was bound by heavy black chains without locks, and it was unclear how to unlock them.

When Alex saw the chains, he mentally found a plausible explanation for Langston's bizarre behavior.

It turned out that Mr. Langston was unable to unlock the chains by himself, which was why he hadn't been able to escape for so long.

Alex put the camera aside and pulled Langston aside to actively discuss how to open the door.

Seeing this, Lin Bei finally couldn't help but laugh.

His laughter echoed in the darkness, and the mocking laughter reached the ears of Alex and the others.

Alex paused, then hesitated before asking, "Mr. Lin Bei, what do you mean? Don't you want to escape?"

Lin Bei walked slowly forward and stopped a distance away from Alex and the other three: "Get out? Getting out is easy, but the problem is whether you'll survive."

As soon as he finished speaking, Langston, who was standing next to Tessa and Jerry in the darkness, suddenly moved.

Two muffled groans came from the darkness. Alex was startled and turned to look, his face turning deathly pale.

Langston, looking completely deranged, pulled out sharp shards of glass from somewhere and easily pierced Tessa and Jerry's necks, one in each hand.

Tessa and Jerry couldn't even speak, only making helpless "hmph" sounds, staring wide-eyed at the glass piercing their necks, powerless to look at Alex.

Alex stood there, stunned, completely terrified, unsure of how to react.

Lin Bei and Constantine stood indifferently not far away. Lin Bei had his hands behind his back, while Constantine slowly exhaled a breath of smoke, so calm that he seemed to take the bloody scene before him for granted.

Langston's maniacal laughter echoed in the darkness. He suddenly yanked out two shards of glass, and amidst a splatter of crimson blood, Langston fell to his knees with a thud, repeatedly kowtowing to the red door: "I did it! I did it! I found the sacrifice, the door can be opened, the blood of the sacrifice stains the chains, the chains will fall, the chains will fall! Master, master, I did as you asked, where is my reward? Where is my reward!"

As Tessa and Jerry's blood splattered all over Alex, he trembled and stared at them until they helplessly clutched their necks and collapsed. Only then did Alex let out a shrill scream, fall to the ground, and keep backing away.

When this happened, Alex remembered Lin Bei and Constantine again, and scrambled back to Lin Bei's feet, reaching out to grab his leg: "Help! Help! Save me, I don't want to die! What's going on? Mr. Langston, isn't he human?"

Lin Bei took a half step back to avoid Alex, and looked calmly at Tessa and Jerry, who had already turned into corpses in front of him: "What else could have happened? Didn't you choose to believe Langston yourselves? Does it matter whether he's a human being or not? What matters is that you should thank him. He really kept his word and opened the door for you."

Faced with Lin Bei's indifference, Alex felt a sense of fear for some reason. In this extremely tense situation, a thought suddenly popped into his mind.

That's the man, even more terrifying than Langston, who just killed his companion.

His lips trembled as he looked up at Lin Bei, deciding to change direction and seek help from Constantine on the other side. Constantine dodged to the side and said indifferently, "Why are you looking at me? Do I look like the kind of saintly person? I won't save someone who's courting death."

As they were talking, the two corpses were still gushing blood, and it looked like something was drawing the blood out of them.

Blood splattered all over the ground, slowly converging into two streams that meandered toward the red door.

Lin Bei calmly watched as blood climbed the chains, instantly staining them red, and then watched as Langston kept kowtowing to the gate.

He kept hitting his forehead until it bled profusely.

Amidst Langston's maniacal laughter, the chains, having absorbed the blood of the two men, transformed into two long red snakes, writhing as they detached themselves from the red gate.

Langston's eyes widened, and he laughed maniacally as he cheered, "It's open! It's about to open! The gate to the world is about to open!"

In the distance, Constantine stared at the door for a while, then hissed, "Hey Lin Bei, something's not right. This door... could it be the gateway between hell and the human world?"

Lin Bei raised an eyebrow, raised his hand to activate the power of the Shadow Monarch, and black liquid instantly erupted from beneath Lin Bei's feet, rushing towards the red door and firmly binding the door that had already been opened a crack.

Lin Bei nodded slightly: "Constantine, your smoke-filled brain has finally come to its senses. That's right, this is what the demon hiding here will eventually do: open the red gate and connect hell and the human world."

From the moment he stepped underground, Lin Bei knew that this was a completely different story from the original plot.

However, he had no idea what the demon hiding here wanted to do.

If this demon wanted to steal human souls, it could have gone to a populated area instead of this desolate wilderness where it might not see a single person for half a year.

But it just so happened to choose this place.

This shows that its true purpose is not as simple as human souls and believers.

The moment Lin Bei saw the red gate, he realized that it was yet another demon trying to open the door between hell and the human world. Unfortunately, with Lin Bei here, this red gate was destined to remain unopened.

Just as Lin Bei wrapped the door with the black liquid, Langston, who had been kowtowing and cheering on the ground, suddenly turned around angrily and glared at Lin Bei.

Just then, Constantine exclaimed in surprise, "Oh, so that's why I could smell the demons everywhere but not see them. They were hiding inside this person's body. This demon is quite indiscriminate, isn't it? Don't they always look down on humans?"

Lin Bei calmly met "Lanston's" gaze: "Why are you looking at me? You don't think I didn't notice, do you? I knew a long time ago that you were hiding inside this human named Lanston. But you're clever; instead of extracting his soul, you used it as a cover, which is why I didn't discover you immediately."

Lin Bei paused, crossed his arms, and slowly stepped forward: "So what do you plan to do now? Fight me to the death, or just obediently let me kill you, Amon?"

After seeing Langston, Lin Bei already knew the answer to who this demon was.

He might not have known what the demon wanted to do at first, but he knew that the demon's name was Amon and that he had never done anything good.

Amon is the seventh of the seventy-two demons of Solomon, and can be considered a high-ranking demon. It is just unexpected that he would fall into this gap between hell and the human world, attempting to open the gate connecting hell and the human world through human hands.

Lin Bei revealed Amon's identity in one sentence, and "Lanston's" expression twisted slightly before returning to calm.

As Langston slowly stood up, Constantine, with a cigarette dangling from his lips, raised an eyebrow and said, "Wow, it's Amon. Rumor has it that no one has ever seen Amon's true form, not even me, who deals with demons all the time."

"But Amon, as the seventh high-ranking demon, why are you hiding in a place like this, barely clinging to life? Let me guess, you didn't try to challenge other demons of higher rank than yourself, but lost, and now you're hiding here to survive, right?"

Constantine made up a story based on his understanding of how demons looked down on each other.

He didn't expect that his casual remark would actually hit Amon's sore spot.

Langston's face turned pale and then red, and the loose skin hanging on his bones trembled with rage.

Constantine was silent for a moment, then finally couldn't help but burst into laughter: "No way, no way, I actually hit the nail on the head! Don't tell me you're hiding in a human body to avoid being hunted down by other demons. Did you use some underhanded tricks to offend someone, and they won't give up until they catch you? If I remember correctly, demons are all petty!"

Constantine's laughter echoed in the empty underground space, and together with Alex's terrified face and the two bloodless corpses on the ground, the scene was indescribably eerie.

Before Constantine's laughter had even stopped, Amon was so angry that he almost crawled out of Langston's body.

Fortunately, reason prevailed.

With a gloomy face, Amon suppressed its anger. It knew that this was a critical moment and it absolutely could not afford to lose its composure.

Other high-ranking demons are indeed looking for it, and once it is found, Amon knows he will be torn to pieces by the other demons.

Because Amon lost his challenge to Baal, but Amon was unwilling to accept defeat, he took advantage of the chaos to launch a sneak attack on Baal. However, Baal saw through his plan, and Amon almost got killed by Baal instead.

Fortunately, Amon had a backup plan to escape death, otherwise Baal would have really eaten him.

Now, only one final step remains. Once the red gate is opened, it can use a human body to pass through it and then it will no longer have to worry about being found by Baal.

It will be tainted with human scent, making it indistinguishable to demons, and it will no longer have to live a life of hiding!

Amon stared grimly at the two humans still standing in front of him.

He thought to himself that he would never let them ruin his plans. His plan was just one step away from completion, and he would kill those two people even if it cost him his life!
Thinking this, Amon moved the human body around, cut his wrist with a shard of glass, and let the sticky blood gush out.

The blood spurted out but did not fall to the ground. Instead, it flew into the air and transformed into sharp thorns, rushing towards Lin Bei and Constantine.

A series of whooshing sounds suddenly filled the empty underground space. Constantine's eyes widened slightly, and he walked directly behind Lin Bei. (End of Chapter)
